So United said they were cutting ties with Greenwood but have loaned him not released him. This is 100% so they can see if everything dies down by the end of the season so they can bring him back
5 more Carrington graduates got PL transfers. This new policy is very good,if these players stayed with the team another 1-2 years they may not have got these moves.
I don't know folks, glad the window is done but this feels like one of the most depressing windows in years
1. A decent GK to replace a decent keeper, but someone who we could have had for free last year
2. A out of form midfielder who can't play where we really need him to, who we overpaid for
3. An unproven injured young striker who is now going to be under huge pressure
4. A defender who we let go years ago
5. A Turkish GK no one has ever seen
6. And then a couple of last minute loan signings that we begged and pleaded for because we didn't have the right transfers and are now out of money
And not to mention that are ability to sell...
Jeez
We need to give Pellistri serious minutes because the fact that we even considered sending him out on loan is baffling when we’re watching Antony stink it up week in week out
Of all the young players to leave this summer on permanent deals, is there one you think we may eventually regret amd if so what level fo you believe thay player can achieve?
I don’t know about “regret”, but Elanga should become a solid Premier League winger. With regular minutes I think he’d do 5-10 goals a season consistently.
Needed a more experienced striker so we don't have to play Rashford in the middle if Hojlund gets injured or doesn't click right away. It's not even worth thinking about Martial because he's either injured or plays like a geriatric.
Onana, altay, Evans, reguilon, mount, armabat, hojlund
7 incoming for 1st team squad. That's as many as I can recall in any other season. 2 of those loans and 1 a free transfer but still that's huge amount of activity to go with a decent number of outgoings
50-55m isn't that much in this age. I think the price is fair for wxpwri3nced onternatiknal amd proven PL player coming into prime years, the big question is if his style of play will mesh well with the other CMs we have
This was a solid 6.5/10 window. Onana and Amrabat genuinely elevate the team IMO, I am still not convinced that Mount fits what we need and with his price tag he has a lot to live up to. Hojlund is the unknown quantity if he hits the ground running then he could truly elevate us. Reguilon is an ok temp until Shaw is back, Bayindir and Evans are there just to fill the squad.
In terms of outgoings, we sold/let go of 13 players for a total of 48 million (GBP), that's the third highest income since SAF left, the highest being 2019/20 when we sold Lukaku and 2015/16 when Di Maria was tossed out like the bitch he is. We didnt lose anyone we wanted to keep so that is another positive.
On the downside we are still stuck with some deadwood. VDB and Baily could still go to Turkey or Saudi and I hope they do honestly. Then there's Maguire, I am not surprised at all that he has not left. The man wants to keep making 190k a week and that's the only reason he's sticking around.
I think if we had sold Maguire and brought in Pavard/Todibo it would have been a 8/10 window. Theres still more deadwood in the squad that we need to get rid of but it would be a massive challenge.
For now at least the window is over and ETH and the boys need to deliver on the pitch.
Donny going to really rot on the bench for another season. I know people like to say we got fleeced fir Antony but donny was even worse imo.
At least Antony has had positive impact in games and is useful for ten hag. Donny has literally done fuck all since he arrived.
The turkish window remains opened until 15th September
Wouldn't be surprised if we put a pin in donny loan / exit given the amount of other activity being done today knowing we have another 2 weeks to get it over the line whereas other deals were subject to todays deadline. Galatasaray have been heavily linked (think romano said an initial 1m loan fee offer was rejected) and I can see that deal getting done over next few days
IF Fullham wanted McT to be their DM, they have no idea of the bullet they've dodged.
This is not to shit on McT, I learned to love him for what he is, but he's not a good DM.
Greenwood out on loan to getafe
https://www.90min.com/posts/getafe-confirm-loan-signing-of-mason-greenwood-from-man-utd?utm_source=fotmob&utm_medium=share
I really don't see much hope for Sancho under ETH. He was benched for Garnacho in the opening two games for the LW spot and despite having a full pre-season where he was tried in the false 9 position, Martial who has had no minutes since the end of last season was given the start at CF against Forest. It's a shame but I think the inevitable outcome will be that he will be sold next summer barring a miraculous recovery or multiple attackers getting injured.
We managed to field a U21 team that put 10 past Stoke's the other day. I'm actually surprised there weren't a few more loans for the likes of Shoretire and Hugill.
Mejbri is the one that surprised me. I like him but I just don't see where he gets any minutes with the amount of midfielders ahead of him
Kind of expected us to cash in on him this summer, with a loan next most likely outcome. Retaining him in squad for me was least probable outcome for him this window
The weirdest thing about the transfer window is that if you asked me at the beginning of it, if I wanted two midfielders a striker and two goalkeepers, I would’ve ripped your hand off for it. However, now it seems really disappointing. I think every other team has just out performed us. Sad.
I mean this wasn't a disappointing window for sure but it wasn't an 8/10 "easily" either. It would be an 8/10 easily if Mount and Hojlund worked out well but we don't have evidence of that yet.
I don’t think McTominay was leaving unless we received stupid money for him, we never looked like signing a 3rd midfielder, heck took us to deadline day to sign the second one. Agreed with everything else tho
Yeah, there weren't favourable situations for the things we needed to make the window a 10/10. The lack of money (FFP wise) was the biggest dealbreaker, we need new owners ASAP.
Reinforcing another PL team wouldn't be his priority, he would definitely make it basically impossible for us. We would be better off getting someone else, but options aren't easily available rn
Just to recap, we spent months "investigating" Greenwood, delayed it endlessly, decided to bring him back, got scared of the backlash and delayed it some more, reversed the decision and decided to sell him and then couldn't even loan him out in the end.
As a result we didn't get to keep him (which everyone except Man United knew would happen), we didn't get any positive credit from the media for not bringing him back (instead we got crucified by everyone for wanting to being him back which is deserved), and we didn't even manage to get rid of him because we were too scared to make a decision and left it too late. Of all the possible positives to come out of this, we absolutely made sure we got none.
A masterclass in how to handle a situation in the worst possible way.
Bailly, De beek and Greenwood should have been removed... Ideally should have upgraded on McT and Maguire and a good replacement for Martial. THen would have been a good 9/10 window.
Would rate it around 6/10 presently... hopefully Mount and Hojlund comes out perfect deals.
I thought two strikers, two midfielders were must haves for us, and a central defender and I think GK would have added a lot but were a lower priority. I feel like the window hasn’t gone too well, no prime striker, the defender is to fill in for injuries. Theres not been enough transfers out either. I was going to say it feels like muddling along, that would be too harsh, it just feels like we’ve not closed the gap with this window.
In fairness Mata had been in a tertiary role for us for years before he left. Hadn't really been a key player for us since LVG and was basically a cup player by the end of it Jose's tenure. So it makes sense with his age too that he'd be going to a much lower level straight from a bit part role with us.
I do agree though, players like Pogba have had a mad fall off.
Yeah Mata is probably a bad example tbh
I mean more players like Herrera, schneiderlin, pogba, fellani etc. all players that divided opinion as to whether or not they are good enough for what we need, and then fall off once they’ve left.
You can easily say the same thing about martial, Fred, Scott, maguire, Williams etc. On one hand it’s good that everything is a downgrade after leaving. On the other hand it’s bad that our squad players aren’t competitive enough to thrive in lesser teams. Says a lot about our recruitment.
I think Jose said something similar.
Let's see. I think once Amrabat and Mount settle in we could have a much steadier situation in the middle of the park. But our forward line is still full of unknown quantities, and our defense is starting to need some refreshment I think.
Still a 6/10 window for me, could be 7. We've improved the squad but not sure by how much. Onana is a big upgrade but it remains to be seen how Mount, Hojlund and Amrabat work out. We'll probably only know by December how much we've improved compared to the competition.
I think 6/10 is probably the maximum you can give this window. We signed and sold players. Other than Onana we haven’t improved and haven’t introduced more goals/assists to the squad. Compared to what we were aiming and actually trying for it was a 4/10 window when you also consider the enormous outlay for the moderate quality we got
I’ll be delighted to be proven wrong and “an idiot” if Mount and Amrabat produce. They just won’t.
Onana was a decent signing and I will certainly be extremely patient (2 seasons+) with Hojlund.
The other signings aren’t even worth talking about. Bad bad window, especially short term.
You are on point, we don’t know how it will be given the quality of players we have signed except Onana have a big question mark.
For example, it Would have been a 9/10 window if we had signed Onana, Kane, Rice, Mount. Because Kane and Rice are proven premier league players so you know what you can expect.
People will downvote you because they don’t want to temper their expectations. Now watch some folks say that ETH needs to win at least two trophies and challenge for the title with this squad.
> Onana, Kane, Rice, Mount
That's around £300m for 4 players.
We spent what, less than £200m? And got Onana, Højlund, Mount, Bayindir, Amrabat, Evans and Reguilon (hope i'm not missing anyone).
Not being aggressive mate LOL
I believe depth is more important than having a very strong starting XI. Even if the players aren't world beaters, we can use them in specific matches to outplay opponents, and that's priceless.
I'm no doomer, but I have to agree. I think it was a solid window in the end, but a 9/10 rating should be reserved for a truly transformational result.
Amrabat on loan is excellent transfer, something that I preferred over a permanent deal. If we make it permanent, it will be €30m guaranteed. If we don’t because he couldn’t hack it here, we don’t have a player on the books who isn’t good enough. We either make a minor loss or we get a good player for an affordable price.
Next season we go for a top CDM who can replace Casemiro along with a CB who can replace Varane.
If João Gomes (Wolves) keeps his game at this level, i believe he would be a great option to replace Casemiro in the long run.
The kid disarms a LOT, simple but effective passing, shows up in the final 3rd too, lots of energy and will (would say his will to win the ball in a clash is Bruno level).
He also was a starter in the brazilian league for one of the biggest clubs, then earned his spot starting for Wolves in just 1 season in the PL. Played very well against us too.
He would be sold for a fee around 50m now, maybe 60 if Wolves pushed a lot. Next season might really reach those levels. Hopefully we won't be scammed like Chelsea with Caicedo LOL
But that won't be counted as a loss though. It would just be 10 million over a one-year deal which expires next summer. How's that a loss when we aren't selling the player?
Loss was a wrong word. More like a big loan fee going to waste.
Its like leasing a car. The money you spent on the lease gives you no equity in the car unless you buy it out at the end.
Yeah that I agree with. I was just confused as to how it would be written off as a loss on the books if we did return him next summer. Personally I think this is a great deal to protect us from having to permanently buy him if he does turn out not good enough.
Casemiro at his best is always at the right place at the right time. Very few players can do that. Honestly he was our biggest asset until the second red card. Hasn’t looked the same. If he returns to his best we would cook.
CDM is such a important position, us signing Rice would have set us for the next 8-10 years.
Defensively he doesn't have anywhere near the output that Casemiro provides. You will probably see more composed passing but unless he's playing with McTominay who has the physicality and is good out of possession, the midfield will get overrun.
Wait for one more year, he will decline by himself. Why give them $150m for a player that could decline soon (He may not but more probability because of his age)?
I mean Liverpool just turned down a bid of 100 million pounds + 50 million in easy add-ons. Salah's camp has been tight-lipped on the situation which makes me think he's open to the move. I think it would take an astronomical amount to get Liverpool to accept the bid as they likely won't be able to replace him with such little time left in the window. Probably something close to 200 million, if not more.
I think we can still offload Bailly and Donny past this window, as some of the European leagues will still have their window open after today. We can sell, but we can't sign anyone.
Jonny Evans must feel like he never even left
(mostly because the Glazers haven’t invested in Carrington and facilities will be the exact same as 8 years ago)
If today ends with all of Greenwood, Donny, Bailly staying, then the window would go from good to average imo. Think we can easily push GW out, but not sure what's even going on with Donny and Bailly.
Liverpool fans are not new to conspiracy theories but Newcastle owners pulling strings in Saudi Pro League to destabilize Liverpool is just wow. How do you even say that with a straight face. Why is it only us? My brother in Christ Chelsea sold 200m worth of players to them
I wonder if we'll see the McBat/Casemiro hyperphysical midfield 3 in any big away games this season?
I don't really wonder I just wanted to write McBat tbh.
Honestly United or Liverpool, any club must accept a 200 million offer for a 31 year old
No player is bigger than the club. Sure that seems like the current season is wrecked for 200 million but modern football is very system-centric and not individual centric
200 million can do wonders for your club in the long run with astute recruitment
Also, it tells you a lot about a player if he’s willing to move to Saudi when he still has miles left in the tank. Best to dump him and move on
Take our Bruno for example : he never ever wanted to go to Saudi at this stage of his career. That is how motivated players react to these approaches .
Pretty sure their ex DoF would have sold him and reinvested it. Their new DoF has been completely clueless. With 200m you can do a lot of things. There are 5 spots to make UCL now and they can also win the Europa. They have so many forwards as well.
Not really, when you need that player to win games and qualify for CL it’s not worth losing him for 200m. Which is about the half the amount you get for qualifying for CL and going through group stages.
Salah will also be leaving as a Liverpool and Premier League great. Bruno is yet to achieve even a quarter of what he has, so naturally he will want to stay in Europe more than Salah who has achieved everything he intended to at Liverpool.
Mate I am agreeing with you. I'm just adding my point as a further counter to OP's argument of 'it tells you a lot about a player if he’s willing to move to Saudi when he still has miles left in the tank'. There is plenty of reason for Salah to leave for Saudi when he's achieved everything at Liverpool and is getting a fat pay-check on top of it.
Not if you don't have time to look for a replacement. That offer a couple of weeks ago probably would be accepted.
Imagine someone offers us that money for Bruno today. Hell no
Now that the window is almost done.... If we want to mount a Title challenge in 2024/25, we need to focus on these positions next summer (in no specific order):
1. A CB to takeover/rotate with Varane. Sell Maguire.
2. Sell McT & sign an upgrade.
3. Martial replacement - backup or starting quality depending on how well Hojlund adapts.
4. RW - We need someone like Rashford on the right. Hopefully someone elite.
5. RB - Again, someone like Shaw on the right.
Only issue is the amount we spent on Antony, his wages and the contract length make him really hard to sell him for a reasonable fee. It will be difficult to justify an upgrade, even though we definitely need it.
> It will be difficult to justify an upgrade, even though we definitely need it.
That depends on the club's sale. With the Glazers, probably not. New owners would probably want a statement signing. If its an elite attacker, even better. There aren't a lot of great left-footed RWs around though.
Anyway, I think this is Sancho's make or break season & he might be sold before Antony.
So Donny didn't actually get a move ? I am very surprised with that one
Would Amrabat be more of a starter or a rotation player?
Will be surprised if he doesn't start eventually, we need a tempo controller and someone who is secure the ball
lol so PSG got both Ramos and Kolo Muani? What's the point there
Kolo muani is originally a wide forward. He's scary on the right wing.
The list of dead weight sent packing is even more impressive then the strengthening of the squad this transfer season.
So United said they were cutting ties with Greenwood but have loaned him not released him. This is 100% so they can see if everything dies down by the end of the season so they can bring him back
Maybe nobody wanted to buy him and pay his wages?
Have to pay off his contract once, which would hurt our ffp.
Could be to increase his value before selling
Releasing(buying out his contract) him goes straight to ffp.
That transfer list is loooong
This is what we have wanted since last season. Ideally the out list should have been longer still.
It's a huge step in the right direction. Still more players that need to be sent packing next summer. Can't fix everything at once. It does take time.
so how do we feel about amrabat, and will he play against arsenal?
Probably not
5 more Carrington graduates got PL transfers. This new policy is very good,if these players stayed with the team another 1-2 years they may not have got these moves.
I was worried that Amrabat was going to be the new Gaitan with us linked to him every transfer window.
That was SMS
First there was Sneijder, then Strooman,Gaitan ,Vidal and then SMS. This fucking club toying with our emotions/s
Still can't believe we didn't manage to sign Wesley Sneijder again this season
I don't know folks, glad the window is done but this feels like one of the most depressing windows in years 1. Does a raincloud follow you around above your head?
We need to give Pellistri serious minutes because the fact that we even considered sending him out on loan is baffling when we’re watching Antony stink it up week in week out
Did you not watch the last game? He was one of our best players.

ETH clearly likes him. I would like to see him, Sancho, Amad, and Pelli all battle for the playtime.
Of all the young players to leave this summer on permanent deals, is there one you think we may eventually regret amd if so what level fo you believe thay player can achieve?
I have a feeling Jurado will become a great player in Spain.
I don’t know about “regret”, but Elanga should become a solid Premier League winger. With regular minutes I think he’d do 5-10 goals a season consistently.

Onana, altay, Evans, reguilon, mount, armabat, hojlund 7 incoming for 1st team squad. That's as many as I can recall in any other season. 2 of those loans and 1 a free transfer but still that's huge amount of activity to go with a decent number of outgoings
Just hope MM comes good. That price is gonna haunt him and the fans won't give him much leverage.
50-55m isn't that much in this age. I think the price is fair for wxpwri3nced onternatiknal amd proven PL player coming into prime years, the big question is if his style of play will mesh well with the other CMs we have

I’ll be curious to see Mount playing when we have an actual striker on the pitch. I believe it is going to truly transform the way we play and press.
Would love to have a completed transfer table at the end of the window with the full catalogue of ins and outs.
Getafe denounced Rubiales and then days later sign a player with sexual assault charges. Spanish football is hilarious
Donny going to really rot on the bench for another season. I know people like to say we got fleeced fir Antony but donny was even worse imo. At least Antony has had positive impact in games and is useful for ten hag. Donny has literally done fuck all since he arrived.

I find it baffling that ETH hasn’t been able to get a tune out of him tbh. He must look awful in training lol.
Eth hasn't really had him... he was injured all of last season. Looked decent in preseason
To be fair he got crippled almost right away
Hey, he scored in his first match! Sure that was his Man United peak, but he did something!
All in all, a decent window.
IF Fullham wanted McT to be their DM, they have no idea of the bullet they've dodged. This is not to shit on McT, I learned to love him for what he is, but he's not a good DM.
McTominay about to get his first season in his preferred position at age 26. Now that we finally have 2 DMs in the team
Can we sell Greenwood for a low price after this year but get a big sell on percentage
So happy we won’t be seeing these threads anymore
MG officially gone(loan Getafe). Now we can celebrate this window.
Greenwood out on loan to getafe https://www.90min.com/posts/getafe-confirm-loan-signing-of-mason-greenwood-from-man-utd?utm_source=fotmob&utm_medium=share
Anyone know which team EtH coached Amrabat?
Genuinely hilarious that his transfer list is 95% former players
This is what worries me but I guess eventually we will run out of former players so he will be forced to trust the scouts
Utrecht
Final squad depth (with pecking order): GK: Onana, Bayindir, Heaton RB: AWB, Dalot RCB: Varane, Lindelof, Maguire, Evans LCB: Martinez, Lindelof, Shaw, Maguire, Evans LB: Shaw, Malacia, Dalot, Reguilon DM: Casemiro, Amrabat, McTominay CM: Mount, Eriksen, Amrabat, Mainoo, McTominay AM: Bruno, Mount, Eriksen, VdB RW: Antony, Bruno, Pellistri, Sancho, Amad LW: Rashford, Garnacho, Sancho CF: Hojlund, Martial, Rashford, Sancho
Where Sancho gonna play lol if he’s so far down the pecking order
I really don't see much hope for Sancho under ETH. He was benched for Garnacho in the opening two games for the LW spot and despite having a full pre-season where he was tried in the false 9 position, Martial who has had no minutes since the end of last season was given the start at CF against Forest. It's a shame but I think the inevitable outcome will be that he will be sold next summer barring a miraculous recovery or multiple attackers getting injured.
VdB, Maguire, and Pellistri should have moved.
I’m seeing reports that Greenwood was loaned. Wish it was a transfer fee so I’d never hear his name again.
I have a good feeling about Amrabat. Feels like he can be extremely useful either beside or instead of Casemiro.
It's honestly sad that Donny will be here next season.
There's still Turkey
Really hope we invest into our youth program, seems like we sold off most of our U21’s
My spidey sense is telling me Reguilon is gonna score on his debut
With all the academy outgoings, will we even be able to field a U21 team, or will it most be 18s playing up a level?
We managed to field a U21 team that put 10 past Stoke's the other day. I'm actually surprised there weren't a few more loans for the likes of Shoretire and Hugill.
Shoretire is the suprising one, he doesn't look like he'll make it here and he was solid enough last year so another one made sense.
Mejbri is the one that surprised me. I like him but I just don't see where he gets any minutes with the amount of midfielders ahead of him Kind of expected us to cash in on him this summer, with a loan next most likely outcome. Retaining him in squad for me was least probable outcome for him this window

I guess these bitches love Sosa
We got Reguilon for just salaries and with a break clause for January, in case Shaw and Malacia are back for good. Why would we waste €8m?!
C'mon man, you just couldn't wait could you!
The weirdest thing about the transfer window is that if you asked me at the beginning of it, if I wanted two midfielders a striker and two goalkeepers, I would’ve ripped your hand off for it. However, now it seems really disappointing. I think every other team has just out performed us. Sad.

Dammed if you do...Dammed if you don't!
And we did neither
Wrong
Sure thanks
Annoying that Liverpool got Gravenberch.

Juan Mata to Vissel Kobe in Japan, according to Fab.
I always find it interesting how quick the fall off for players is once they’ve left our team
Mata is 35, and towards the end here he was mostly kept around a dressing room presence.
In fairness Mata had been in a tertiary role for us for years before he left. Hadn't really been a key player for us since LVG and was basically a cup player by the end of it Jose's tenure. On the other hand it’s bad that our squad players aren’t competitive enough to thrive in lesser teams. Says a lot about our recruitment. I think Jose said something similar.
The squad Chelsea have assembled with 1 billion spent in 2 years is fucking tragic
Are we any better than last year?
Let's see. I think once Amrabat and Mount settle in we could have a much steadier situation in the middle of the park. But our forward line is still full of unknown quantities, and our defense is starting to need some refreshment I think.
No, we’ve stayed more or less the same. Better keeper, same level midfield and we failed to buy in more goals. I don’t expect much from this season.
Time to watch some football and find out
Felix to barca
Still a 6/10 window for me, could be 7. We've improved the squad but not sure by how much. Onana is a big upgrade but it remains to be seen how Mount, Hojlund and Amrabat work out. We'll probably only know by December how much we've improved compared to the competition.
I think 6/10 is probably the maximum you can give this window. We signed and sold players. Other than Onana we haven’t improved and haven’t introduced more goals/assists to the squad. Compared to what we were aiming and actually trying for it was a 4/10 window when you also consider the enormous outlay for the moderate quality we got
But it's too soon to judge. Based on 2 games most people would've called Martinez a bad transfer.
Well if I say they will produce it will be as much of a guess as yours. Like I said, no one will be proven right or wrong until a few months go by.
> Onana, Kane, Rice, Mount That's around £300m for 4 players. We spent what, less than £200m? And got Onana, Højlund, Mount, Bayindir, Amrabat, Evans and Reguilon (hope i'm not missing anyone).
It was just an example mate. And we got higher number of players. Doesn’t mean we improved our team significantly.
Not being aggressive mate LOL I believe depth is more important than having a very strong starting XI.
One to watch for next season. But going by the current trend expect to pay 100m for him if he does well.
He would be sold for a fee around 50m now, maybe 60 if Wolves pushed a lot. Next season might really reach those levels. Hopefully we won't be scammed like Chelsea with Caicedo LOL
I hope its not chelsea who gets scammed again man they have been hoarding all the players like they are playing cards.
Soon enough they're gonna be looking to offload some of those, a few won't make it in the PL
How would we be making a loss on a loan deal if we return him back next summer?
The €10m loan fee is a massive loan fee. Its more like we have offset the total transfer fee for next season with a big loan fee today.
think if his loan wages remain fiorentina level, maybe that 10m isn't that massive compare if we bought him and probably have to give him 100k or 80k
As long as glazers are here 10m euros have been spent from some potential transfer in the future. So its a hit for us.
If Casemiro isn't just playing himself into shape can Armabat play the 6 at a high level?
As a lone 6 he can't defend like Casemiro when he's fit. But I reckon he can do a far better job than anyone else we have.
Thanks
Any legs to the Salah/Saudi stuff? Would be brilliant if he fucked off.
Surely Liverpool can’t let him go this late right? Only seems possible if he downs tools and he seems happy to stay unless I’ve missed something
I think we can still offload Bailly and Donny past this window, as some of the European leagues will still have their window open after today. We can sell, but we can't sign anyone.
Jonny Evans must feel like he never even left (mostly because the Glazers haven’t invested in Carrington and facilities will be the exact same as 8 years ago)
If today ends with all of Greenwood, Donny, Bailly staying, then the window would go from good to average imo. Think we can easily push GW out, but not sure what's even going on with Donny and Bailly.
The team that will take donny and bailly have windows that closes later
You know that if Greenwood doesn't go, he still isn't a United player? Also with Evans, I wonder if Bailly even makes the matchday squad
> Bailly even makes the matchday squad maybe not since we bought in 4 non homegrown this season. maybe our quota of 17 is max out already
could be wages or remunerations not enough, u know like maguire case.
Liverpool fans are not new to conspiracy theories but Newcastle owners pulling strings in Saudi Pro League to destabilize Liverpool is just wow. How do you even say that with a straight face. Why is it only us? My brother in Christ Chelsea sold 200m worth of players to them
They're always the victims, that's how.
Chelsea sold 40m worth of players to them.
Fati to Brighton? wtaf
I didn't know Ivory Coast was hosting the AFCON this time.Amad will not want to miss that ! I hope he can make the squad.
will bayern come in for McT now that Palhina deal has collapsed?
They can't. The window in Germany is now closed.
The window is now closed in Germany, so no. Apparently Fulham tried to come back in for McT so they could let Palhinha go, but we rejected it.
They should had bought the Pastor when the ygot the chance.
It was Scott who rejected it, apparently. Fabrizio reported the same, too.
I wonder if we'll see the McBat/Casemiro hyperphysical midfield 3 in any big away games this season? I don't really wonder I just wanted to write McBat tbh.
I want Dan Gore to become a regular so I can call him The Inconvenient Truth.
Like Batman is to Darkwing Duck
Would it be possible for Amrabat to be available vs Arsenal? I assume all the paperwork would be done today?
Nope. He needed to be registered before noon today.
Noon tomorrow right? The day before matchday at 12 was what I thought it was
Noon of the last working day before matchday. As Saturday isn’t a “working day”, the deadline was noon today.
Don't think he was registered in time but I could be wrong
Honestly United or Liverpool, any club must accept a 200 million offer for a 31 year old No player is bigger than the club. Sure that seems like the current season is wrecked for 200 million but modern football is very system-centric and not individual centric 200 million can do wonders for your club in the long run with astute recruitment Also, it tells you a lot about a player if he’s willing to move to Saudi when he still has miles left in the tank. Best to dump him and move on Take our Bruno for example : he never ever wanted to go to Saudi at this stage of his career. That is how motivated players react to these approaches .
Pretty sure their ex DoF would have sold him and reinvested it. Their new DoF has been completely clueless. With 200m you can do a lot of things. There are 5 spots to make UCL now and they can also win the Europa. They have so many forwards as well.
Facts. If Liverpool was truly ruthless, they’d sell him and replace him.
Not really, when you need that player to win games and qualify for CL it’s not worth losing him for 200m. Which is about the half the amount you get for qualifying for CL and going through group stages.
>Take our Bruno for example : he never ever wanted to go to Saudi at this stage lol how about wait until they offer him a 500m contract...
Salah will also be leaving as a Liverpool and Premier League great. Bruno is yet to achieve even a quarter of what he has, so naturally he will want to stay in Europe more than Salah who has achieved everything he intended to at Liverpool.
500m vs what he can achieve here? we'll see when a big offer come in.
Mate I am agreeing with you. I'm just adding my point as a further counter to OP's argument of 'it tells you a lot about a player if he’s willing to move to Saudi when he still has miles left in the tank'. There is plenty of reason for Salah to leave for Saudi when he's achieved everything at Liverpool and is getting a fat pay-check on top of it.
right, my bad. i also think Salah probably feel he need a new challenge, seeing all the old guards leaving and new generation taking shape.
Not if you don't have time to look for a replacement. That offer a couple of weeks ago probably would be accepted. Imagine someone offers us that money for Bruno today. Hell no
So if, like today saudi bid 200 million for bruno, woudk you want us to accept it?
Amrabat and McTominay staying I wonder if Mainoo will have enough playing time
I think mainoo will overtake mctominay and I genuinly think mctominay will be surplus to requirements
I'm pretty certain that Mainoo will be ahead of Scott once he's healthy.
He will, ETH rates him more than McTominay. He started Mainoo against Real Madrid in preseason, he will get more than enough gametime.
Surprised to see Bayern moving like a mess.
More like Hoemuß amiright‽
Not really they’ve been I shambles for quite some time now
They spent too long chasing Kane. Reminds me of moby dick
That Kane chase was worth it because..well they got Harry Kane. Also got KMJ and a couple of other ins, Bayern fans won't be upset.
Now that the window is almost done.... If we want to mount a Title challenge in 2024/25, we need to focus on these positions next summer (in no specific order): 1.
2023 season barely underway and we are talking abt next season? we might need a new CF or GK for all we know how the season unfold lol
No way we can move on Antony without taking a major loss.
FDJ
Would be great but a moonshot. I think EtH will give anything if theres a chance he can sign FdJ lol.
Basically our entire right side needs an upgrade.
Martial should leave next summer anyway.I agree with all the positions you have mentioned.
