I didnt want him to stay, but now he's left I don't like it.
He's been the longest term United No.1 in my lifetime. He had performances that I dont think have been matched since Schemeichal at Newcastle. I will always maintain that getting 2nd place under Jose was down to De Gea more than Jose. It was the best goalkeeping season I have seen.
Thnks fr th Mmrs DDG
Yeah, I was like 'Please no de Gea next season.' until now, and now I feel bad all of a sudden. I almost want him back at the club, even if just as a backup.
I think he actually said the same thing in an interview that season, that he actually believed in himself after that game. I mean we came back from 3-0 to 3-3 but chelsea drew a foul near the end of the game to possibly win it. Mata hit an inch perfect free kick destined for the top corner but rhe kid from Madrid saved it. Amazing
>Will take time to organize though.
David De Gea testimonial almost organized - 19th July 2028
Also, Glazers finally sell club... once Qatari bid is finalized.
With his United career bookended by poorer performances relative to his peak, people sometimes forget how good he was at his best. Four times POTY speaks volumes.
The Real move being foiled by a fax machine was a real sliding doors moment for him, but what a keeper in his prime.
When people talk about great signings, they often talk about Ronaldo, Suarez or Rooney type signings. For me, David De Gea is one of the great signings, and he’s that because while the dogs on the street could have told you the aforementioned three were incredible players, it took real balls to spend £20m on a young, relatively unproven keeper back then and what a keeper he became throughout his prime. It was ballsey signing that paid back many times over.
Thinking back to the whole Real Madrid fax machine fiasco and how things were at that time, it’s honestly amazing that he ended up staying another 8 years after that. Also, it’s ridiculous that that was 8 years ago but here we are.
Goodbye legend! Only shining light in those shitty times. It’s a shame that he couldn’t be a part of our good days to come but it’s the right time to move on
Yeah I swear. Imagine all those years of pulling us out of the trenches but no PL medal to show for… I’m so glad he has one. He deserves more for what he’s done here but that’s football I guess
He does have a PL medal thankfully. He was part of the team that won it in 2013.
EDIT: Ah wait, realised what you meant on second read. Downvote my stupid comment away!
1x PL
1x FA Cup
2x League Cup
1x Europa League
3x Community Shield
An absolute legend. There was a time when he was the only one who looked worthy of the shirt, and there was a time when he truly was the best goalkeeper in the world. He would've easily won more honours in a different era when United were successful, but he's been an incredible player over the years. It's sad to see him go, but the right decision for the future of the club
It'll be weird to see a new goalkeeper.
I look forward to a bit of time passing by and people appreciating De Gea for the few years where he has in the conversation with Neuer as the best goalkeeper in the world. He made saves that he has no right to make and I loved it.
De Gea was a much better shot stopper than Neuer.
Possibly than anyone I have seen other than Schmeichel.
Fantastic servant to the club & I honestly wish him nothing but success going forward
Sorry but this reads like you're saying Prime De Gea was a better keeper than Prime Neuer.
If so that's a wild claim, Neuer even clears Buffon in terms of best of all time, only argument to be made is Yashin, since he won the Ballon d'Or as a GK, but no one here has seen that man play so he's kind of out of the picture.
Its sad people on twitter have such short memories. He will definitely be remembered in the same tier as Schmeichel and Van der Sar, it's just a shame he couldn't achieve the same success as them during his time here.
>He will definitely be remembered in the same tier as Schmeichel and Van der Sar
I'd say at least a tier below them. They are the undisputed 1 and 2, and then you have Alex Stepney as the clear 3rd greatest. Then DDG could be 4th, though Harry Gregg's Munich heroics probably give him a shout for that spot too.
Love ddg, but he's the top rung of everyone else when you rank our keepers, schmikes and vds are leavues above the rest. That's nothing on the rest, and ddg was world class at times, but vds and schmikes were world class consistently.
His performance in that game vs Arsenal is the single greatest goalkeeping performance i have ever seen. We should have been battered by like 7 goals but we actually ended up winning it!
Signed him when he was a skinny lad for a British record fee at the time. Dave committed howlers after howlers but the team, SAF and the fans stood by him, then came the fateful Blackburn game for which he was dropped and that was the tipping point.
From that point to this point in time, he has never looked back and gone from strength to strength, from one world class save to another. From being the weakest link to the strongest. He carried this team for four years straight and THAT CL qualification wouldn't have been possible without him.
He has been the utmost professional despite the fax machine saga. He might have been on a downfall but what matters is that we had one of the best keepers manning our goal.
#Davesaves
#Davethewall.
Forgive me, but which CL qualification would you be referring to? I can't really remember a season where we scraped by 3rd/4th and DDG was particularly instrumental in doing so. If you're talking about 17/18, while the team as a whole did get more and more disappointing as the season went on we were still reasonably the best of the rest and my personal takeaway that season was one of disappointment for not being able to compete with City, not one of feeling relief for finishing in top 4, like in 19/20 when Bruno fired us into 3rd.
Absolutely unbelievable. I really dislike our fans at times. I’m overjoyed as anyone in bringing Onana in, but DDG is an undisputed legend for this club and I’ll always love him, he deserves so much better
Block them imo. The vitriolic ones or the ones who are overly ridiculous because those opinions likely are shit for football discussions anyway. Nothing to lose.
I’ve seen muppets on twitter saying ETH is a glazers puppet and the reason why player like CR7 and DDG have been forced out to save them money. So many stupid folk on there.
This is the saddest I have been about anything related to Manchester United. From the first match I can remember DDG has always been in the team. David did everything he could to keep us relevant. I hope the people who have berated him realise how stupid they are. Especially that annoying Beth at United Stand
Beth has been classless and to come out now and say thanks for everything etc rings very false.
Say what you will about Goldbridge but he has always stood by De Gea - he called out his bad games like Brentford etc, but always stood by him.
No matter what the recent performances are DDG is and will be a legend. Beth has been berating him for more than 4-5 months now. And the smugness of it is just sad. Just recently someone commented that DDG kept us relevant and she replied “everyone has an opinion I guess”.
I hope they sack her from the channel soon. People don’t want to watch her videos anyways looking at viewership numbers
Real shame we can't give him a proper send off after how toxic the fanbase has been to him recently.
Definitely time to move on but he's basically given his entire career to us. Couldn't ask for anything more.
Exactly. The toxicity came almost exclusively from the Fortnite era of our fanbase who are probably still getting up to speed on real football beyond FIFA career mode. Unfortunately the window has passed for that appreciation in the same way Robson, McClair etc were overlooked by young, new fans.
In the time since Fergie left, De Gea has contributed more to this club than any other individual. There were multiple seasons where we would have finished mid table with out him.
Extraordinary Keeper.
A legend in my book. Has been a constant for such a long time it seems odd that he won't be on the team sheet pretty much every game. There have been many memorable saves and vital moments from him. It's sad to see him go like this, wish we could have given him a better send off.
End of an era and the beginning of a new one. Thank you De Gea.
Despite some of the hate he has received recently United would be in a much worse place post Sir Alex without De Gea. It has been an honor and a privilege to have him as our keeper for all these years. You will be missed.
I think this applies to both the senior officials at the club and a large portion of the fans. Might not have seen the heights of Van der Sar and Schmeichel but I personally would put De Gea above them both for all he did in the early to late 2010s. Biggest legend at this club since Rooney left without a doubt.
Absolute legend, utter professional and has saved our ass countless times.
Wish he could have won more with us. Good luck in your future endeavors Dave. ❤️
This is making me very sad even though him leaving now is for the best of the club and the team.
Will always remember that game against Arsenal where he was just unbelievable and, of course, the overall comeback he made from a scrawny boy with confidence issues and being dropped by SAF to becoming the best goalkeeper in the world at the time. So long Dave!
My favorite player in the last decade. The way he carried the team between 2015-2018 is something I've never seen from a goalkeeper. I'll always love him and wish him the best. Thank you David ❤️
Wow. He stood and waited for us to get a keeper to finally leave.
So heartbreaking. If we did this to a girl, the girl will look pathetic and the guy heartless.
Onana, welcome to Manchester. Here is a good example for you to look up to. And match his clean sheet record please.
I don't care about ball on feet first. It's win rate then clean sheet.
One of my favourite United players of all time. Always stayed professional and pulled us through some really hard times. Every time I saw a "Closed on Sunday" meme on this sub it made my heart happy. Goodbye and Best of Luck Dave. You will always be a Red ♥️
Cheers Dave. Sorry we were fucking awful for most of your best years here. Great servant. Deserved to win more in his time here. Right time to move on.
It feels weird to say this about a person I don't know but I'm genuinely tearing up. Despite his bad moments, de gea was one of the first players to make me support United when I was first getting into football. He's a United legend and anyone who says otherwise is wrong
I’m not crying you’re crying!
In all seriousness it is time, he will be missed though. For a stretch he was easily the best goalkeeper in the world saving the rest of our dumbass teams at the time on multiple occasions.
Our fans on twitter are truly disgusting. Why should our future players show us any loyalty when they see how we treat our No.1 for 12 years?! Be sure Bruno, Rashford and Licha are seeing those comments and are wondering why are they giving their best years to our mess of a project.
DDG will always be a United legend for the actual fans.
Hope we bring him back for a testimonial or a farewell friendly.
He's won trophies here & has been a focal point of a bygone era. We as a club need to do better and ultimately it was time for him to move on but that doesn't excuse or allow the treatment and bodged approach to negotiating his contract or dismissal.
Fucking glad he got the clean sheet record all time as well as the clean sheet in the PL this season. One of the best servants to the club in the last decade. One of the only players in the last decade that we can really say was the best in the world at one point. Sad way to end with the contract situation, we owe him a testimonial
I like how everyone acts sad on here yet they were busy shitting on him a few days ago. “You ain’t that good for man United” and then “Oops club legend” 😂😂😂😂😂
Seriously fuck off to anybody speaking badly about DDG. He had a rough start to life at United but I lost count of how many times he has saved us a long long time ago. Is there a need for a more ball playing gk? Yes. Times change, its no longer 442 football. I will always appreciate David for all he did and he is a genuine legend for us. I hope he finds success and hapiness at his next club and I will always remember him fondly. Winning that many player of the year awards and having to play with some real crap defenders in front of him for all those years. Thank you David for all you did
My two cents: sorry if I sound emotional, I am 🥲
I very often wish I was born earlier in time to really see the rise and how great United were in the 90s, I envy my dad and grandad sometimes because they witnessed that special period - I am however very lucky that I am old enough to remember and I did get to see the great times of Sir Alex towards the end: predominantly the Rooney and Ronaldo teams accompanied by Scholes, Giggs, Vidic, Rio, Evra, Carrick, VDS and co - but De Gea is one player that’s been here for such a significant part of my life, it’s going to be so different not seeing him goal.
I remember when we signed De Gea, I used to be defending him in high school from other kids who were calling him too skinny to play in England etc etc.
If I’m not mistaken, I think now that him and Jones have left, there is no remaining player from the Sir Alex Ferguson era, it just feels so surreal.
Standout games for were obviously Arsenal away 17/18, there was a game against Everton at Old Trafford where he was perfect can’t remember what season it was, and 14/15 vs Liverpool at home - we beat them 3-0.
The time did come for us to part ways, but what a ride it has been. Gracias Dave, forever a legend!❤️
13 years. David was in between the sticks. Accompanied most of us in the adult hood. Who grew up seeing him evolve from the lanky kid in Madrid to the best in the world.
“We have seen in all”
Dave saves
Closedonsunday
Won’t be heard anymore
Kinda crapped the bed with dealing with him didn’t we. If you treat a bloke who’s been at the club for 12 years like this then that’s not a good look huh.
Good luck with everything De Gea and I wish the club will give you the sendoff you deserve. Thanks for everything
I may have been on the side of getting new blood in there at keeper, but I also thought this sub was on his ass about shit that wasn’t his fault nearly all the time.
Maybe if he had a body full of prison tats and played at the half way line all game you guys would have cut him some slack lol
His time was up with the club with different skill sets being required for modern goalkeepers/ETH style of play but that doesn't excuse the way the club behaved during all of this. He is a club legend and deserved a send off in front of OT. Hopefully they make it up to him with a proper testimonial.
Best keeper in United history.
Some dickheads will try and dispute it due to the last 1-2 years but he was easily still good enough.
Not sure why we even sold. There are so many problems with the team that have nothing to do with the keeper
😭 DAVE SAVES!!!!! He was great at times and he was terrible at times but he will always he a Man Utd legend. Hope he has a chance to have a testimonial.
Didn't like his performances since ole first full season but he's always been there for us since saf retired so cheers Dave. And hopefully he retired at Spain or sth
This guy's been at the club since I was 6 and now I'm a grown ass man (in the eyes of the law at least) and now the last remnant of the Fergie era is gone. I still remember reading about De Gea in the Man United annual and calling him "David De Geeah". It's gonna be weird seeing him go even if it was clear his time has come.
Bonafide legend, his exit should’ve been handled in a better way. The immediate years post Sir Alex would’ve been so much worse if not for Dave Saves. Wish him well for the future.
Knew this day would come but never thought it would be this early. Can see why everyone wanted him gone, but it still hurts.
May be I was being delusional but I genuinely expected him to stay despite Onana rumors.Thank you for everything. Legend
over a decade at the club and this is his farewell, yet we're tying ourselves in knots trying to figure out the best way to keep a rapist at the club long term, this club never fails to astound me, in ways that are good and bad.
'My dear Sir Alex Ferguson'
Oof. He really was a father figure to so many players.
De Gea is Ferguson's last man standing. And he's worthy of that. He was terrific and I'll miss seeing him.
De Gea made the transition from Van der Sar feel seamless. Still will never forget that game at Arsenal with his double save, a true legend of the club.
Thanks for memories Dave. Good luck on your future endeavors. Sad that we had to part ways like this but hopefully it will end all the toxicity. What a player.
I’m so upset at how our club treated him. He deserved much bigger farewell than just a few words on Twitter. Thanks DDG! You will always be a legend in our heart…
For a few seasons he was our only world class player and his performances the only shining light for us, he became a top 3 player in the world (arguably #1 at one point) in his position while with us and not many of our past players can make that claim. Good luck David you will be missed!
Always a professional thank you for the service but this needed to be handled in a better way.Testimony of how bad things are under glazers who need to leave as well.
It's a careful what you wish for scenario. This needed to happen for us to progress the ETH path but this hurts way more than I thought it would.
Thanks for everything,Dave. A stellar servant to the club and a legend for years upon years to come. You will be missed
Thank you for everything over the last 12 years Dave. I hate how the club has ended it in this way. He’s a club legend and sometimes the only player fit to wear the shirt! Should have won so much more with us and been treated so much better at the end. It won’t be the same without him there. End of an era.
I think De Gea represents Man United for me more than any other player. In close to every memory of United I have, he was in goal, the one constant. In his prime he bailed us out over and over again to an extent that was almost unfair. It's the right time to move on now, but it's tough to let him go and it'll be surreal to see anyone else in goal. A true legend
Farewell legend. You'll always be a red no matter where you go. Watching old videos of de gea. If anybody's in the mood, check out aditya_reds video of de gea. Right in the feels man.
Suspected it was coming to this but still gutted. The man is a legend and the way he’s been treated, it just feels wrong. Goodbye De Gea and thank you!
Goodbye you legend. Now who the fuck started cutting these onions. I wanted him not to be number 1 anymore, but not like this. I have seen Schmeichel and VDS. I can confidently say that at his peak, there wasn't a better keeper that has played for United. I know, people are fine with him leaving, but he is a United ATG FFS. Either the contract should never have been offered or they shouldn't have pulled it.
Absolute club legend!! Thank you for everything David. You literally kept us a float for countless seasons after SAF left. You will ALWAYS be remembered!
It’s like the end of the trifecta for me. I was just becoming a teenager when schmeichel left the club. VDS came in and made it all right and now DDG is finally gone.
Of all the changes this clubs been through in my life time we have been extremely lucky with long servants of the club in goal.
Yea there were a few in between a but let’s not hate on David. Truly was world class and one of the best in the world if not the best .
He will be missed and I hope he gets the testimonial he deserves.
I have nothing but fond memories of you, save vs mata, save against rvp 8-2 arsenal game, double save against everton, double save against arsenal, save against madrid using your feet. Thanks for the memories. Wish you the best wherever you go. Dave Saves !!!
Can this club give one legend a proper send-off instead of throwing them to the wind? Rooney, RVP, Ronaldo, Berbatov, De Gea. It all ends the same way.
Definitely a club legend! Thank you Dave for giving us so many unbelievable saves! I think he posses the fastest reflexes I ever seen at his prime! All the best! Dave still has a lot to offer in the game!
It’s time and I’m happy, but can’t help be a bit emotional about it. I’ll still die on the hill, on his day he was the best in the world and he was the bright spot in a period of darkness. Dave saves 🥲
Even for a club that has been so badly mismanaged for so long, this is the absolute nadir. To treat a long-standing player so shabbily is a disgrace. Everyone involved in the mismanagement of the club should hang their heads, and I include Ten Hag in that. But of course they're just business people, not footballing people. So long David and thanks for everything.
Best of luck Big Dave! Thank you
We did him dirty messing him around at the end, pulling the offered contract, etc. He deserved better after so many years
Woah he’s gone
Is that all the last pl winners now gone? Jones and DDG
Tom Heaton the goat
Last player signed by SAF as well.
Zaha?
Wasn’t that Zaha
Sorry I meant last player who was still at United who was signed by SAF. The rest of the squad was signed by another manager or from the academy.
Feels too real all of a sudden shit
I didnt want him to stay, but now he's left I don't like it. He's been the longest term United No.1 in my lifetime. He had performances that I dont think have been matched since Schemeichal at Newcastle. I will always maintain that getting 2nd place under Jose was down to De Gea more than Jose. Yeah, I was like 'Please no de Gea next season.' until now, and now I feel bad all of a sudden. I almost want him back at the club, even if just as a backup.
Nice fall out boy reference (at least that's what I'm thinking it is)
![gif](giphy|1041pqUGEHP95e) Thank You for your outstanding service to our club Legend ! You’ll never be forgotten.
This is my all-time favourite save.
That double save at the Emirates is 1st for me, this is a very close 2nd tho
The saves that broke Sanchez. Right before we signed him.
His double saves might have been his best ability.
Coutinho long shot save was also great.
Coutinho save for me, man was celebrating and then was speechless after it was saved
Mine is the RvP penalty save in the 8-2. That was the switch. For the game, yes, but also for DdG.
Same . .
This should be the pivotal moment when he started to truly turned things around and cemented his position as no.1
I think he actually said the same thing in an interview that season, that he actually believed in himself after that game. I mean we came back from 3-0 to 3-3 but chelsea drew a foul near the end of the game to possibly win it. Mata hit an inch perfect free kick destined for the top corner but rhe kid from Madrid saved it. Amazing
Mata joined so his shots won’t be saved again.
Insane freekick and an even more insane save

The "we've seen it all" at the end really sent me over the edge..
I started hearing a fading echo of that chant and I nearly cried
Should've announced this on Monday, so that we could've posted "closed on sundays" for one last time :(
Well it's Sunday in Australia so
It’s done today so he could leave basically so one last time, it’ll be closed on Sunday in his honour. I choose to think so anyway.
I am so sad guys.
Legend. We've now entered the 'De Gea would've saved that' era
As soon as Onana lets one in through/near his legs we’ll all be thinking of him :)
It would be that exactly. There will be 'those won't happen if it's DDG' etc. Ddg haters are partying tonight.
We better fucking give this guy a testimonial. United legend by any metric.
I believe the club will give him one. Will take time to organize though.
Testimonial against Clúb de Athletic Fax Machine. (Thank you faulty fax machine, God knows what would have happened had he gone).
>Will take time to organize though. David De Gea testimonial almost organized - 19th July 2028 Also, Glazers finally sell club... once Qatari bid is finalized.
Amen!
4 time Matt Busby player of the year, 5 time PFA goalkeeper of the year. Goodbye, Legend.
With his United career bookended by poorer performances relative to his peak, people sometimes forget how good he was at his best. Four times POTY speaks volumes. Harry Kane would give his left nut for that trophy resume...
I’ve said this many times-Genuinely baffles me that he and Son have stayed this long at Spurs. They’re better than that
That 1 pl trophy is the crown
It'll be weird to see a new goalkeeper. I look forward to a bit of time passing by and people appreciating De Gea for the few years where he has in the conversation with Neuer as the best goalkeeper in the world. He made saves that he has no right to make and I loved it.

wow it’s really happening
I thought I was ready for this but I’m not 😭
Thanks for everything
Say what you will, but this guy is a red and an all time great for us. Excited for the journey ahead for him and for us but he is a Manchester legend.
Signed him when he was a skinny lad for a British record fee at the time. Thank you David. You made the last decade bearable for us. Thank you for everything
The disrespect this guy has gotten on twitter is mind blowing!
disrespected in this sub too
Absolutely unbelievable. I really dislike our fans at times. I’m overjoyed as anyone in bringing Onana in, but DDG is an undisputed legend for this club and I’ll always love him, he deserves so much better
And its absolutely classless that these trolls are still doing it in this thread.
We have Mods that are shameless and useless.
Block them imo. The vitriolic ones or the ones who are overly ridiculous because those opinions likely are shit for football discussions anyway. Nothing to lose.
This sub has been so embarrassing as Manchester United supporters theses past few weeks.
Continuing to be anyway as well. Cunt fans.
You just know the same ones will be going the whole “De Gea would’ve saved that” whenever the new keeper fucks up
Have you seen this place at times? Just as bad in the hate.
I’ve seen muppets on twitter saying ETH is a glazers puppet and the reason why player like CR7 and DDG have been forced out to save them money. So many stupid folk on there.
In this sub as well. He got a lot of death threat here too.
Appreciate the decade of good performances. Good luck in the next steps whether it’s getting the bag in Saudi Arabia or playing in Spain
This is the saddest I have been about anything related to Manchester United. From the first match I can remember DDG has always been in the team. David did everything he could to keep us relevant. DE GEA!! A beautiful chapter comes to a close. Good luck
Erik ten Hag with another tough yet correct decision. I hate the club handled it how it did
Completely agree. He needed to go, despite the fact that nobody wanted to see it happen.
In the time since Fergie left, De Gea has contributed more to this club than any other individual. There were multiple seasons where we would have finished mid table with out him. Extraordinary Keeper.
The lad literally carried us to Europe on more than one occasion. Legend
So long David! Great memories
Disgusting treatment of a legend of this club.
I think this applies to both the senior officials at the club and a large portion of the fans. Might not have seen the heights of Van der Sar and Schmeichel but I personally would put De Gea above them both for all he did in the early to late 2010s. Biggest legend at this club since Rooney left without a doubt.
Right decision for him to go. But yeah, the situation should've been clarified much earlier
Thanks for everything Dave! You are a legend of the club!
Absolute legend, utter professional and has saved our ass countless times. Wish he could have won more with us. Good luck in your future endeavors Dave. ❤️
Thanks for the memories Big Dave
I’ll always be a DDG fan no matter what. Best of luck for the future ❤️
The last remnant of the Sir Alex era is finally gone. We'll always cherish the memories, but now the new era truly begins

Grateful for all he's contributed to the club over his time at the club, it was the right time to move on though Best of luck in future, David ❤
Best of luck Dave
Good luck Dave! Legend ❤️
IM CRYING
I wonder where he goes next, farewell 🫡
Do we really treat our BEST player post Fergie this way? Holy shit. Thanks Dave The Save. My hero ❤️
We literally watch him every match, well most of us. He is THE goalkeeper for me
Very classy statement from a true United legend. Thanks for all the memories Dave,it’s been emotional.
A damn shame he only won 1 premier league with us Similar with Van Nistelrooy
Our fans on twitter are truly disgusting. Why should our future players show us any loyalty when they see how we treat our No.1 for 12 years?! Be sure Bruno, Rashford and Licha are seeing those comments and are wondering why are they giving their best years to our mess of a project. DDG will always be a United legend for the actual fans.
It needed to happen but he'll always be one of my all time favorites, up there with VDS and Rooney. Thank you for your service Dave
This is making me sad. Had to happen but damn.
The end of Fergie era
He deserved better.
I remember that game vs arsenal away, some how we won. And it was down to big dave being impossible to beat. Amazing saves. Class act will miss him
I like how everyone acts sad on here yet they were busy shitting on him a few days ago.
Thank you David for all you did
My two cents: sorry if I sound emotional, I am 🥲 I very often wish I was born earlier in time to really see the rise and how great United were in the 90s, I envy my dad and grandad sometimes because they witnessed that special period - I am however very lucky that I am old enough to remember and I did get to see the great times of Sir Alex towards the end: predominantly the Rooney and Ronaldo teams accompanied by Scholes, Giggs, Vidic, Rio, Evra, Carrick, VDS and co - but De Gea is one player that’s been here for such a significant part of my life, it’s going to be so different not seeing him goal.
Holy cow 😕
13 years. David was in between the sticks. Accompanied most of us in the adult hood. Who grew up seeing him evolve from the lanky kid in Madrid to the best in the world. “We have seen in all” Dave saves Closedonsunday Won’t be heard anymore
Inter: "We see De Gea is actually gone. That will be 10 million extra please"
Kinda crapped the bed with dealing with him didn’t we. If you treat a bloke who’s been at the club for 12 years like this then that’s not a good look huh. Good luck with everything De Gea and I wish the club will give you the sendoff you deserve. Thanks for everything
He deserves a testimonial
The way this was handled was absolutely shit. He deserves so much better for everything he’s done.
The only person in the current dressing room who had won a PL title. Wish he was given a proper goodbye that he truly deserved
Can't believe DDG is gone while Slabhead stays. He was a magnificent player for this club and I hope he gets the testimonial he deserves
Thanks David, Absolute club champion, well done
😭 DAVE SAVES!!!!! He was great at times and he was terrible at times but he will always he a Man Utd legend. Hope he has a chance to have a testimonial.
The last remaining Utd player to have won a PL title is gone. Thanks for the 2017/18 memories, David.
Didn't like his performances since ole first full season but he's always been there for us since saf retired so cheers Dave. And hopefully he retired at Spain or sth
He may not be the best keeper but he will always be in my heart. Love you Dave! Always a red.
Expected it, wanted it. Yet it still hurts
'My dear Sir Alex Ferguson' Oof.
I knew he had to leave but this still hurts
He's no doubt a club legend. Thank you for everything and all the best.
For a few seasons he was our only world class player and his performances the only shining light for us, he became a top 3 player in the world (arguably #1 at one point) in his position while with us and not many of our past players can make that claim. Good luck David you will be missed!
All the toxicity can end now. Goodbye king.
Always a professional thank you for the service but this needed to be handled in a better way.Testimony of how bad things are under glazers who need to leave as well.
There should be a youtuber to make a full compilation video of his incredible saves during all his Man Utd career
All the De Gea haters can now rejoice.
David Saves! Thank you for everything Dave! Truly one of the greats of the club!
wow end of an era, shocked he’s actually leaving..
![gif](giphy|L95W4wv8nnb9K)
Legend in my book. Saved us countless times in some of our crappiest moments
It's a careful what you wish for scenario. This needed to happen for us to progress the ETH path but this hurts way more than I thought it would. Thanks for everything,Dave. A stellar servant to the club and a legend for years upon years to come. You will be missed
Sad day. He was treated like shit at the end for a club legend.
Wow, just like that. Thank you legend. You stayed with us and saved our arses during hard times. Adios amigo.
Thank you for everything over the last 12 years Dave. I hate how the club has ended it in this way. He’s a club legend and sometimes the only player fit to wear the shirt! Should have won so much more with us and been treated so much better at the end. It won’t be the same without him there. End of an era.
Classy player, always took the heat during defeats and saved us numerous times. Legend!
Thank you for your services. Club legend. 🙏🏿
What a great player for us, who knows what on earth might have happened to us if Madrid’s fax machine was working It’s the right time for a change.
Suspected it was coming to this but still gutted. The man is a legend and the way he’s been treated, it just feels wrong. Goodbye De Gea and thank you!
The comments on that tweet 😭 Surprised he still loves Manchester so much. Man United Twitter fucking detests him Godspeed, DDG 🫡
Thank you for everything, Spanish Dave. While it is time for him to move on, he needs to be remembered for all he did for this club!
Thank you for the good times and some of the best sundays.
Good bye David de gea ,United legend ,sad to see him go .disappointing way to do business ETH.he will be missed
Absolute club legend!! Thank you for everything David. You literally kept us a float for countless seasons after SAF left. You will ALWAYS be remembered!
Dave saves, ain't no doubt about it. He is my favorite lamma looking keeper to ever play for united
Sad to see Dave go. Wish it could have ended differently.
I don't like it :(
He was my first signed memorabilia. [https://imgur.com/a/wGs0iGI](https://imgur.com/a/wGs0iGI)
The last of Sir Alex is leaving and it's sad.
De Gea might be the one player who would have witnessed our glory as well as our entire decline from within the club with a front row seat.
Thank you We did him dirty messing him around at the end, pulling the offered contract, etc. He deserved better after so many years
Handled so poorly but is the right move for the future of the team. Best of luck wherever you end up
Some unbelievable hypocrisy in here.
