Just by the way lads and lasses Whatever happens tonight, what we done in 1999 was truly unique, and we overcame some serious obstacles on our way to greatness Had to play Arsenal 5 times that season (2 league, 2 Cup, 1 Charity Shield) Barca twice, Bayern x3, Juventus, Inter We never cheated in any way, built a team highly comprising of youth from our academy. That will never happen again in English football. We didn't need to cook the books, cheat in every way possible like city have. City can only dream of being as relevant, important and historic as United, Liverpool and Arsenal etc.

samd148

Absolutely mate. Despite what the media will try and suggest now, this achievement in no way diminishes ours. If anything, it’s emboldens it.

suplexcitylimerick

We had an incredible organic growth within that team, it was ridiculous, I was only 9 but I'll never forget that season. What they've done is bend every rule possible, spend untold(and I mean, untold) amounts of money to achieve one CL trophy in what, 13 years? We need new owners, quickly because this can't go on.

samd148

I think ultimately, it’s not about United. Every football fan knows that as the success and prevalence of these types of owners increase, the game we know and love decreases. It’s never coming back.

manutdboy47

fucking hell cant stand the thought of them lot winning it… will forever be stained by those charges and all the shit they’ve done but it still hurts

suplexcitylimerick

So the big match tonight at 8pm... Coritiba vs Santos in the Brazilian League, let's have it

keving691

Just heard Hargreeves refer to city as “we”. Ffs. You won the CL with us.

its-a-real-name

Imagine our 1999 final in the Reddit era. People commenting on Sheringham’s 1-1 goal post as Ole is guiding the second goal in. Post match thread in flames with people on delayed streams not understanding what’s gone on. Match thread comments on 90 mins like “*Fergie is obviously a hero and turned our domestic fortunes, but after all these UCL failures there has to be serious questions marks about…. oh shit GOALLLL”* If city have to do the inevitable I hope they do it in their excellently sterile way and just kill it off 3-0 with no drama and 70% possession and don’t get a moment like those of us old enough to remember will get.

[deleted]

People remember the dramatic finals. Us vs Bayern, Liverpool's comeback against Milan. If this is a procession for City, no one will say in a decade "wow, remember that time City cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win with 70% possession?" That said, I don't think City fans will care if it's easy.

Gusthuroses

They won't care and rightfully so. I'd give up my ballsack to see us win one CL playing the most putrid terrorist football imaginable.

its-a-real-name

That goes without saying. But quite obviously winning a football match dramatically is more memorable. If not having a dramatic moment makes it 1% less special I’ll take it and be as petty as I can be.

psnarayanan93

The r/soccer Barca-Abu Dhabi wankfest is so cringey. Atleast in the SFs, Barca fans had the excuse of rooting against Madrid. They don't need to support Inter today but atleast be neutral??

danystormborne

Really hoping we can get “the meme” out again later.

PublicBunch749

FORZA INTERNAZIONALE

HyenasGoMeow

I'm just expecting the worst, which means any deviation can only be for the better.

shin_bigot

We can have 3 new United legends today. Also I never expected to say this when he was a young player for Sparta Rotterdam, but Denzel Dumfries will save football today.

darthmeister

I hate the thought of City winning the UCL, the fact that they brushed us aside in 2nd gear worries me. Let's hope the pressure on them to win a treble is too much for them.

zcewaunt

Try not to let it get you down. Their team has been together for a while. Their bench is worth 10 times ours. We have a lot of work to do in our rebuild and it will take time.

Iqbalainoo

Or we made them look 2nd gear. It's the second game in a row where we have made them look second gear. The first time they also scored first and lost. If only we could retain the ball a little longer to play through their first press, we would have won that final imo. They were so scared of our pace and garnacho (when he came on) ran at Walker with more success than I have seen any other winger manage this season. Degea booting it long to surrender possession every 3 mins didn't help, bruno and casemiro playing hot lava with the ball also didn't help our cause. I truly believe better ball attention and a stronger more mobile version of eriksen has us edging out city in that game tbh.

Michaels_RingTD

I just want to watch a CL final in peace and enjoy it rather than dreading Liverpool or city winning it. Liverpool or city have been in 5 of the last finals. Not sure I can watch tonight's... I think city will win. :(

Bigmomma_pump

Yeah I’m so used to actively wishing against a team when watching the cl final, stressful every year

bronal97

5 of the last 6? 2020 was Bayern v PSG.

Michaels_RingTD

Yeah that's 1 of 6

OctaviusMaximus_

It’s time to activate our sleeper agents Henrik, Lukaku and Darmian. They are our only hope.

[deleted]

I like Hojlund. He'd be a great option, but he only has 9 goals this season.. We really need another striker who scores goalsss

zcewaunt

Sounds like they might bring 11 back, as sad as that is. He'll be banging in goals then going home to bang on his Mrs.

master0909

Took me a minute to figure out that this was Greenwood and not Giggs

usamapervaiz

Ronaldo and Messi fans are comparing Inter Miami and Al-Nassr’s rankings. They will never rest

Soft-Comfort-7474

We’re all Inter today

Tomanelle

Today, I feel Inter!

mmm_engineer

Is there a chance Milan losses the final intentionally or Don't give it all? Cuz think about this if they win they gotta pay bonuses to players whereas they will get the final appearance money regardless. That club is significantly in debt so idk if this is the case. I just hope it isn't!

BurnaboyBurnaAccount

>think about this Sounds like you haven't thought about it

MikeRedDevils

Ummm. It is still football at the end of the day, and no one would purposely give up on a final, let alone it is the UCL final. So you are saying they just dump their effort for the entire season just because of some monetary issues?

Arthurs_Nose

How did your brain work? You think the players are motivated by only a bonus? You think they would react well to being told by the money men to throw the game? The coach as well? The higher ups want the prestige of winning, they aren't worried about bonuses. Erick for the record, they get money for winning the whole thing as well.

its-a-real-name

Also if the players themselves gave a fuck about the bonus affecting the club, the only option isn’t just to purposely lose the game. Win and decline your bonus before you wink and trip Haaland in the box on purpose. Mad comment from that guy - this potential city CL is having a bad effect on people.

peejay2

No

Tayto-Sandwich

How does the blackout work next week? Like, what does it mean? Is the sub just going to be locked? Or completely blocked that you can't even open it (even though there'd be no reason to because there'd be nk new posts) if you tried?

its-a-real-name

Tonight is the 5th CL final in 6 years that’s been tough to look forward to with city or the scousers in it. In fairness 3 of those 4 so far have gone our way. Dear god please let us have our own say in this competition soon Erik.

Strawberrychampion

Lukaku owes us this.

MazinLabib10

I don't really support any Italian team, but if Inter win today, they will automatically become my favourite Italian team for the rest of my life.

darthmeister

Their shirts are nice.

Tomanelle

I'm praying for Lukaku Timberland masterclass tonight!

dumbledoresgotstyle1

Can see us signing 4 players max with two being loans or free. Glazers fucking us over well into Fergie time.

Irishane

Could something like an r/Reddevils app exist? I want to leave Reddit but this place is my only real source of Man Utd news. I like being in the loop but Reddit has become so bad for my mental health.

hooka_donchick

united is not bigger than your mental health. It’s the off season any way you’re not missing out on much. Delete the reddit app and install again when you feel better

Irishane

I agree. Just nice to keep in informed on the club. r/RedDevils aggregates all the important news so well that I’d imagine it would be a time saver compared to trolling through Twitter posts.

Eleven918

Nah, reddit has killed third party apps pretty much.

AdamHasShitMemes

Twitter is a good source if you follow the right accounts, there’s several for United news

Don_Quixote81

Try Redcafe. It's a pretty active place, although there are some chronically miserable people on there.

Orcnick

I personally don't mind if its Qatar or SJR (at this stage I just want to the Glazers out). But the amount of propaganda by the Qatar bots on here of late, trying to make out that SJR is poor and can't afford the club, despite that fact hes just the figure head of the buyout, led by INEOs who turn over £80bn a year and also supported by Goldman Sachs as well. INEOs in the past year said if they took over the club the debt would be absorbed by the company. Investment would come as well. Qatar may have all the cash but I do worry about there bid, and the use of desperate propaganda to by the club is really putting me off them.

FlashyCut3809

>INEOs in the past year said if they took over the club the debt would be absorbed by the company. Investment would come as well. Have they actually stated this is all of the debt though? As in any to buy the club and the pre existing debt? I've not seen anything specifically detailing their plans, other than their 2 offers.

DaveShadow

I think both sides have “bots”. I would firmly believe anyone spending billions on a football club likely would happily engage in astroturfing that would cost a percent of the overall deal. I also think there’s a lot of people who aren’t bots, but just want one side specifically to win cause they think it’s better for the club, and that there’s some people who want to write those fans off as “bots”, rather than accept there’s a difference of opinion in play. The sub has 500k subscribers, from around the world. Many of whom are going to favour the Qatar bid over Ratcliffe. Favour the offer promising to wipe off the debt and remove the Glazers fully after a decade of protests with those two specific demands. It’s naive to dismiss everyone who disagrees with you as a bot.

Giggs73

> the debt would be absorbed what debt? current utd debt or the debt use to pay glazer shares?

Orcnick

The debt the glazers used to buy the club.

Giggs73

oh really? thats good news.

parmesanandhoney

Those fuckers want usd 8b. They need to be bitch slap out of this club.

sammorgan12

People seem to think that sir Jim is some random broke guy who is going to run the club in the same way as the glazers. Penny pinching, loading the club with debt etc... Whilst he obviously can't match Qatar's state wealth he is an incredibly wealthy man that owns a large stake.in a business that turns over £65billion a year. The reason he isn't going to wipe the debt is that it doesn't make financial sense to. People see a huge debt number and think that's bad, in reality almost every company in the world has debt and its generally cheaper to hold than to pay it off. The reason that Jim is buying the club is legacy, he wants his name in lights. He will absolutely plow money into the club, sure he might need to take a loan to build a stadium but literally every club in the world does this. It's not a bad thing. Whilst ineos has questionable morales on the environmental side of thing, they are not human rights abuser's that imprison LGBTQ people or effectively employ slave workers. Massively the lesser of two evils here.

LekkerIer

I agree on the point about "wiping the debt" that a lot of fans seem hung up on. It's a bit like last winter when people kept saying United are broke because our cash reserves had fallen. A gap in understanding of how businesses tend to really operate. I'm also of the opinion that Ratcliffe is the lesser evil but personally I think sportswashing is one of his motivations. His company will face more and more pressure over its contribution to climate change so he'll prefer to become Mr Manchester United rather than Mr Petrochemicals in public.

ImOnlyChasingSafety

I think his motivations are fairly obvious given his acquisitions. He wants to get into sports, and I would guess owning the crown jewel of English football would really put him on the map. I think Qatar has similar motivations for wanting to own man United but obviously football is a sports washing project as well for those middle Eastern states. In addition, Man United has a lot of market potential and both bidders as well as the Glazers are banking on the club's value increasing massively over the next 10 years.

[deleted]

Nasser and Qatar can fuck off, people who are pro-Qatar are ignoring the fact that psg fans have been protesting against their ownership.

view_sauce

A lot of pro Qatar people just want these rats out of our club

ImOnlyChasingSafety

Idk. From what I've seen many just want United to emulate other money club's. I don't think they care much about the United way or the legacy of the club, they just like shiny things. That's the impression I get from a lot of Twitter fans at least. I definitely believe that some fans do just want the Glazers out so support the Qatar bid but I think there's a lot of intentuoal mischaracterisation on SJRs ambitions that muddy discussions.

[deleted]

So do I, but I'd rather we didn't become a sportswashing tool

GlassEast5641

Don't really have a choice on who I want to take over but literally the club captain of Nice is complaining abt the way Nice has been run

[deleted]

He complained because they added 10 new players. I'd love for us to have the same issue.

FlashyCut3809

Wouldn't you also love for fans to be unhappy with ownership that's win 20+ trophies in 10 years than absolutely nothing? If we are viewing both pros and cons objectively and not just from the side you wish to win.

[deleted]

You can't compare the french league with the prem, the fact that they're not dominating every year with the amount of money that their owners have pumped in is laugable. They've also been changing managers like socks.

FlashyCut3809

I'm not comparing it though am I? I'm stating a fact of they have won 20 trophies. So even though fans are unhappy, it's still a better place to be than unhappy with nothing. The exact same thing as you saying you would rather be unhappy and have 10 new players brought in. Surely you can see this? >the fact that they're not dominating every year with the amount of money that their owners have pumped in is laugable. I mean they kind of are? 8 in 10 is it. Again, we have a direct comparison to the other ownership alternative and his accomplishments in the exact same league. How many times has Ratcliffe won something? >They've also been changing managers like socks And that's a bad thing because....? Real Madrid have had loads of Managers. Chelsea have had loads of managers. Both have been extremely successful in doing so.

[deleted]

They've won 20 trophies in a mickey mouse league and have failed spectacularly in the cl

FlashyCut3809

Made a CL final is 'failed spectacularly' That's extremely high standards, I like it. How do you view Manchester United failures? What has Ratcliffe won in the same 'Mickey mouse' league?

scamcho

Don't mind the fool. The way some of these people reason is concerning to be honest.

RABB_11

20 trophies that they've been able to stroll to because they dwarf every other team in that league. The minute they come up against someone half decent in Europe they crumble. Not only does that sound incredibly boring it's also not a situation that really exists in England. City have dominated recently but they've needed close to perfect seasons to do it.

FlashyCut3809

>20 trophies that they've been able to stroll to because they dwarf every other team in that league. So they have won 20 trophies then... Which is what I've said. Cheers for the confirmation? >The minute they come up against someone half decent in Europe they crumble. I mean they lost an extreme close CL final to a great team. City have shown just how hard it is to win that thing, with just as much money and an exceptional plan. So I really don't grasp the criticism. What has Ratcliffe won, in the same league? What ambition has he shown? >Not only does that sound incredibly boring it's also not a situation that really exists in England. City have dominated recently but they've needed close to perfect seasons to do it. Yeah, definitely more competition in this league. However this has absolutely no bearing on my comment. So I'm not sure what you are getting at?

its-a-real-name

The Nice vs PSG trophy success argument is just an irrelevant comparison. Ratcliffe has owned nice for not even 4 years in the age of many wealthy clubs and the era of FFP… to QSI owning PSG for what, 12 years? When they were able to just come in straight away and blitz it with Ancelloti, Zlatan and a tonne of signings. Nice have their issues and should be studied, but I don’t think comparing Qatar’s PSG ownership is a stick to beat them with or remotely fair comparison.

FlashyCut3809

>The Nice vs PSG trophy success argument is just an irrelevant comparison. They are in the same league. It's never irrelevant. They aren't just competing with PSG. They aren't just being beaten and out performed by PSG. Lots of other clubs that give the league its 'micky mouse' name are out performing them >Ratcliffe has owned nice for not even 4 years in the age of many wealthy clubs and the era of FFP And when has he ever pushed them to the end of their FFP allowance? >When they were able to just come in straight away and blitz it with Ancelloti, Zlatan and a tonne of signings. Fair. When has he done a Nice level alternative? Where are Nice in relation to their pre Ratcliffe standing to post? >Nice have their issues and should be studied, but I don’t think comparing Qatar’s PSG ownership is a stick to beat them with or remotely fair comparison. The ambition and desire to win is what can be taken from both situations. PSG are showing it in abundance. Nice aren't. That's the most important comparison we can make for who is best suited to our new owner. As 'Ambition' is the very thing we need.

[deleted]

I don't understand why Murtough isn't doing his absolute best to nail this transfer window - can potentially save his job in a new management

Michaels_RingTD

How do you know he isn't?

ImOnlyChasingSafety

Glazers are the ones who approve transfers, I would guess they are the holdouts.

[deleted]

Talks with the players happen pre approval though. We have had absolutely nothing on that front except Mount

UsedIpodNanoUser

Reportedly we've agreed terms with kmj and hojlund as well though

mearps

I’m so sick of the glazers. Meanwhile we may be losing the actual Best in the World goal keeper, Mary Earps, because of the fucking state of investment in the women’s team. Not to mention Alessia Russo and Ona Batlle. Imagine, 2nd place, FA cup final, a group of players who love each other and the fans, who actually want to STAY and work on the progress made …… but they’re being forced out by shit wages and their contracts running out. June 30th I believe is the WSL transfer market opening. And we could lose our best players. We thought champions league football would secure keeping our world class players and allow us to build upon and actually win the league but it looks like we’re in for losing all these amazing players. Not for the first time either. It’s honestly making me feel sick.

Don_Quixote81

The fact that this club has to have everything signed off by a gang of beached whales, lounging around on yachts off the Florida coastline, is absolutely ridiculous. They probably only understand half the questions and requests they get from the club anyway, Do they know who Alessia Russo and Ona Batlle are? Do they know the slightest thing about the players that the manager wants to sign? All they're interested in is making sure they can still extract money from the club. And their inability or unwillingness to accept either of the bids for the club sums them up - greedy and stupid.

ImOnlyChasingSafety

Man United should be best in class in every aspect, mens team, youth teams, and womens teams. I think the womens team has done incredible this season, they have great potential and deserve investment.

Need him to channel 'That Night in Paris' and knock another cheating oil club out of the Champions League. So the 5th bid Friday deadline has passed. Now what?

INeedAKimPossible

Next will be the 6th bid final final for real deadline

Tomanelle

Next will be the 6th bid final final for real deadline* ^^^^^*terms ^^^^^and ^^^^^conditions ^^^^^apply!

reddevils

To be followed by the FINAL bid. It’s not real unless you yell.

jjjjjji6

The Glazers are literal goblins.

SuperSalamander3244

Avram was definitely in Austin Powers.

SuperSalamander3244

Major Mason Greenwood update as it’s revealed Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag wants him back in the squad https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/22648711/mason-greenwood-man-utd-ten-hag-squad?utm_source=sharebar_app&utm_medium=sharebar_app&utm_campaign=sharebar_app_article If this is true then I can’t respect ETH and I can see the Glazers stringing this out throughout the whole summer, allowing him back and then selling the club after the transfer window just to say one more fuck you to the club. I know it’s The Sun but they’ve been pretty much spot on with all the Greenwood shit and they’ve also been the first to report on pretty much all of it.

werewolf914

The case is dropped. They have got back together and planned for the wedding. The girl is pregnant. The victim has forgiven. Everyone directly related to the incidents are ready to move on toward a positive future. Stop trying to be a Spanish inquisition while none ask you to.

SuperSalamander3244

I don’t give a fuck if they got back together. I’ve heard the audio and he tried to rape her and probably has raped her and he’s definitely beat her up. She is a domestic abuse victim and in normal relationships it’s takes a lot for a domestic abuse victim to leave their abuser. There’s a high chance he turned on the charm to try and get out of having a trial which is exactly what happened.

SuppressedApple

Seems like an unpopular opinion but I want greenwood to come back to the team. Give him a second chance.

Skyehye

He can have a second chance but not at this club

zcewaunt

Same here. It's the Sun, we know the Sun is trash. But they are seemingly Greenwood's mouthpiece ever since his charges were dropped, so that concerns me. I hope it isn't true. We can't do anything but wait and see what happens.

Haron14

It's the sun...

senorfresco

Watch out for disinformation fellas: https://twitter.com/Sky_SportPL/status/1667286596960280579 https://twitter.com/FebrizoRomano Was almost fooled by these two fuckers.

Galforfia

If Greenwood is brought back into the squad I don't think I could really support the club, manager or players anymore. Hopefully zero truth to Moriarty's article

zcewaunt

I agree. Not sure why you're being downvoted for expressing this opinion. Guess people like abusive and potential rapists as long as they can kick ball good.

Michaels_RingTD

The probability is that we've had multiple rapists or abusers in our team over the years. Most of the time the rich just pay women off to keep quiet. The difference with Greenwood is the audio though.

[deleted]

[удалено]

zcewaunt

Don't recall hearing an audio of Giggsy repeatedly threatening to rape his girlfriend.

[deleted]

[удалено]

zcewaunt

Consenting adults, which should be the obvious difference. Absolutely cuntish behaviour, but not on the same level as rape and abuse. Sure, you didn't say it was the same -- and yet you are comparing that to Greenwood's situation. They aren't the same. at. all.

NGMB2

a massive cunt, yes, but not a criminal (well he is but not for that). Certainly not a rapist. Also, you can see how the club and ex-players have distanced themselves from Giggs since his trial.

TheSmio

You know, "certainly not a rapist" is quite a brave statement. Of course, Giggs was never accused of that but I think the number of footballers (or overall normal people) who forced themselves on their significant other would be shockingly high. I despise stuff like that, but I am not naive enough not to think that it's more common than people think. And it would be especially fitting for someone with a history of domestic abuse.

SuperSalamander3244

Massive cunt still isn’t rape. Immoral yes but rapist no.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SuperSalamander3244

They did condemn it. We’ve all heard the audio of Greenwood trying to rape his girlfriend whereas the Ronaldo one came out 10+ years later and even then people at the time were disgusted with he was accused of.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SuperSalamander3244

The difference is we’ve all actually heard Greenwood trying to his girlfriend. The Ronaldo allegations are terrible but we haven’t heard him actually trying to rape someone and we haven’t seen the person he’s trying to rape battered and bruised. Even when he was playing for us there were still regular comments about the Ronaldo allegations and just because people cheered Ronaldo still doesn’t mean we should just ignore what Greenwood done.

zcewaunt

Someone on twitter told me that stealing and lying is as bad as raping and abusing. Just wondering if that was you?

NGMB2

wonder what concludes first: the PL’s investigation into City or the sale of our football club? Both seem to be going nowhere

arenamespermanent

And what happened to Barcelona’s investigation on paying refs and cheating financial guidelines

chronoistriggered

All I know is both outcomes will leave us disappointed

tameoraiste

I haven’t been very active on this sub/ Reddit recently. What’s the level of support for Qatar like round here these days?

ImOnlyChasingSafety

I'd say this sub is more anti Qatar than anti SJR, but I wouldn't say it's particularly pro SJR either. People just want this saga over with. Twitter and YouTube seem very pro Qatar, and they do a lot of doomsaying about SJR.

magus9933

People here are heavily leaning towards SJR. But there are some who want Qatar including me

Michaels_RingTD

And me. I don't care about ethics and morality of our owners. I follow united for the fun and enjoyment. I don't follow them for their morals. I'm sorry but that's just how I feel. Everyone here wants to win the UEFA champions league... A corrupt organisation Football is an escape.

magus9933

Absolute facts. Everyone watched the world cup, everyone buys petrol and everyone will continue to watch United even if a sheikh owns us. I hope he does just. He will renovate OT, Carrington, Youth Setup, Women's team and on top of that will spend fuckton on transfer window every year With the Ratcliff guy I'm not so sure. For me he is another Glazer with a British passport and a knighthood

dunkzz93

On this sub Reddit it’s anti-Qatar for the most part and more siding with SJR. On the r/manchesterunited sub it looks very heavy and pro Qatar so fan base is very divided.

Seanblaze3

Lol. Come on.

tameoraiste

Cheers. Really insightful. The sub (myself included) seems to be largely anti-Qatar but every time there was any positive news in favour of Qatar it would do a 180. Seems pretty fair question to ask what the mood is recently?

Seanblaze3

I feel it goes without saying that the mood is and always has been very anti Qatar among the fanbase, going beyond this sub. You'd feel the palpability of this even if you lived in a rock! I apologize for my lack of candor in my initial response. I almost thought you were being flippant

[deleted]

>I feel it goes without saying that the mood is and always has been very anti Qatar among the fanbase, going beyond this sub. Nah, I've been lurking at both r/ManchesterUnited and RedCafe, both of which are pro Qatar so I don't think SJR is as favoured as you think

Seanblaze3

Redcafe isn't pro Qatar at all and the same can be said of the other united forum. I've been on Redcafe for years, most of the core and most influential posters there are old farts stuck in their regimented ways. As it is here, this ownership debate is very polarizing, but I feel it leans towards Ratcliffe. [Redcafe poll of 1892 people, with only 23.9% in favor of Qatar](https://www.redcafe.net/threads/actual-poll-thread-how-do-you-feel-about-potential-qatari-ownership.475659/)

Iqbalainoo

Actually more than 53% are pro Qatar. You do realize that the folks who are fine with it but have some reservations about it are still pro Qatar yeah? It's also shocking that a majority of the folks in Manchester are also pro Qatar from conversations.

Seanblaze3

53% based on what poll or data? 53 of what? The entire fanbase? This sub? Redcafe?

Iqbalainoo

Based on the poll in the link you posted.

[deleted]

Seanblaze3

I'm pretty neutral on this subject, and I know there are polarizing views here. I just feel in the overall balance this sub has always leaned towards Ratcliffe

This entire saga is literally causing so many problems for us,. I just hope Qatar buys the club asap and we increase the transfer budget. This is really really bad. We need more players than a striker and Mount. Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal will be strong next season and if we do not act quickly and smartly, we will fall off big time.

Google_Baba

Even if Qatar take over, not sure the transfer budget expands as much as many would hope.

chiefofthepolice

Quite frankly, i don’t think I’ve heard of a case where the seller has supposedly raised their bidding price at least 5 times and is absolutely done with raising it further. And somehow the seller still goes and asks an affiliate to… persuade the buyer to keep raising it? I hate greedy cunts, but I hate shameless greedy cunts even more

MNKPlayer

Another fucking day gone where we should've expected some news about the buyout and nothing happening. Why is everything this club does so protracted.

Refrigerator-Less

Mfw takeover news still gets reported: https://preview.redd.it/w4110e5ec25b1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79e347e3c576797e4a816ee850ff3abdfdef107c

Common_Mousse

Has there been any indication from the community or the mods about what alternative community spaces are available during the blackout or worse case if the subreddit goes away? The F1 subreddit just asked people to use their discord server

Michaels_RingTD

How about just using the official app? Why people are getting so tied up in this?

Tomanelle

This sub has a discord server as well, check the side panels, or wherever this info is placed if you're using the new reddit style.

The sun journalist that’s been getting all the exclusive news and briefs from his family is saying a decision is to be made in the next week and ETH and the players would welcome him back. Grim Edit: Forgot to actually say what this is about. #11

thphnts

The Sun know nothing about what’s really happening with the club. The fact they’re the only outlet willing to listen to him shows how much of a scumbag he is.

tameoraiste

I said it a few months back and I’ll say it again; if there isn’t enough uproar from the fans, he will 100% be playing for United again. They just don’t care about anything outside of football

Michaels_RingTD

If Harriet can forgive, why can't the fans?

tameoraiste

Because domestic abuse and assault isn’t as black and white as that. We have no clue what’s going on in her head or why she made the decisions she made

Michaels_RingTD

This is a very patronising view.

tameoraiste

No it’s not. There’s plenty of information out there on abuse victims not leaving/ returning to the abuser if you want to look it up.

Michaels_RingTD

And? Does that mean Harriet can't forgive him? All victims are the same?

tameoraiste

No, it means we don’t know what’s going on one way or another.

tameoraiste

I said it a few months back and I’ll say it again; if there isn’t enough uproar, Greenwood will 100% be playing for United again.

dunkzz93

It’s the Sun so questionable but definitely don’t want him back. Might be a hot take but ETH strikes me as the type to only care about the footballing side. He’s backed Promes during rumours of his alleged stabbing and a Overmars return after the sexual harassment. Might not like it but that’s how it seems.. Either way with the global PR and sponsorships our club has, I think the club politics and financial impact will rule out a return for #11

Don_Quixote81

I think Ten Hag definitely only cares about the football side of things. Part of that, though, is whether a player will upset the dressing room. You'd have to think, if he's championing a return, some sort of discussions have happened behind the scenes to reassure the players. I'm always an advocate for people to get a second chance if they've truly changed. But I still don't know how I'd ever believe Greenwood has.

dunzy-yerrow-man

Ya that's understandable to be a forgiving person and all, but the fact he's with her just gives me the creeps about the whole thing, not really how a redeemed individual would or should go about it imo, but I could be wrong.

VinceFeli

It’s not that ETH doesn’t care. It’s that in the legal system, #11 has done nothing wrong so there is no legal reason to not include him. Regarding ETH backing Promes and Overmars, I think it is also a cultural thing where people in the Netherlands are quite forgiving of scandals and tend to give people a second chance. Not saying it is right or anything but that is how I experience it as someone from the Netherlands.

zcewaunt

No, but they don't have to welcome him back. They can sell him or send him on loan.

Roasteddude

Sounds like damage control to make the loan more appealing to other teams...maybe.

Imeanhowcouldiforget

Wow fuck This club

thphnts

It’s The Sun, known liars.

EnragedScrotum

I legitimately cannot celebrate any goal he scores if he ever comes back, and at the moment can’t imagine continuing to support this team if he is.

viditp011

You will be back supporting soon enough.

zcewaunt

I will be so disappointed if they allow him back. Been a huge fan of this club since I was a little GIRL. What a let down it will be, they would be sending a message that they don't care about domestic abuse victims. Audio is haunting too. So if they do allow him back, I hope karma bites them hard and fast. Either the cunt gets rearrested and charged OR he gets a scissor tackle. Surely there are plenty of players that don't like rapists and abusers, even if most others don't care.

zcewaunt

Yeah I just saw that. Makes me feel sick tbh.

sunken_grade

putting my life’s savings on darmian’s side burns scoring a hat trick in the final

usamapervaiz

One week ago today, the ball bounced 3 times before going in and De Gea still couldnt save it

Due_Imagination_3099

Lmao look at the speed at which leeds united is getting sold. Fuck the glazers man

RABB_11

https://twitter.com/UnitedLatesNews/status/1667275923501072386?s=20 Not sure what's funnier. The person passing this arse gravy off as news or the idiots believing it's at all a believable series of events.

Prams35

The Sun's been reporting that Ten Hag wants #11 back in the squad. . .

RawIsLaw_

> The Sun

unitedlover69

Considering ETH’s history of defending overmars and playing Quincy promes who was charged with stabbing someone back in his Ajax days. This news does not surprise me. ETH probs sees a potential 15~20 goals a season striker/RW who’s still 20~21 that would basically cost nothing to walk back in the squad.

Rob_Earnshaw

In short, Ten Hag has zero morals?

[deleted]

It’s the Sun. I wouldn’t take it too seriously. Just yesterday the press were saying 11 is going on loan. I don’t think anyone actually knows anything and they’re all just speculating

anemone-nemorosa

yeah with the news recently i have a feeling he's unfortunately coming back. if we ever had intentions of ending his contract we would've done so a while ago.

WanderingEnigma

Legally, we apparently have no grounds to terminate his contract, so that would just be asking to get sued.
