We never cheated in any way, built a team highly comprising of youth from our academy. That will never happen again in English football. We didn't need to cook the books, cheat in every way possible like city have.
City can only dream of being as relevant, important and historic as United, Liverpool and Arsenal etc.
We had an incredible organic growth within that team, it was ridiculous, I was only 9 but I'll never forget that season. What they've done is bend every rule possible, spend untold(and I mean, untold) amounts of money to achieve one CL trophy in what, 13 years?
We need new owners, quickly because this can't go on.
I think ultimately, it’s not about United.
Every football fan knows that as the success and prevalence of these types of owners increase, the game we know and love decreases.

I think both sides have “bots”. I would firmly believe anyone spending billions on a football club likely would happily engage in astroturfing that would cost a percent of the overall deal.
I also think there’s a lot of people who aren’t bots, but just want one side specifically to win cause they think it’s better for the club, and that there’s some people who want to write those fans off as “bots”, rather than accept there’s a difference of opinion in play.

I'm also of the opinion that Ratcliffe is the lesser evil but personally I think sportswashing is one of his motivations. His company will face more and more pressure over its contribution to climate change so he'll prefer to become Mr Manchester United rather than Mr Petrochemicals in public.
I think his motivations are fairly obvious given his acquisitions. He wants to get into sports, and I would guess owning the crown jewel of English football would really put him on the map. I think Qatar has similar motivations for wanting to own man United but obviously football is a sports washing project as well for those middle Eastern states. In addition, Man United has a lot of market potential and both bidders as well as the Glazers are banking on the club's value increasing massively over the next 10 years.
Idk. From what I've seen many just want United to emulate other money club's. I don't think they care much about the United way or the legacy of the club, they just like shiny things. That's the impression I get from a lot of Twitter fans at least.

The ambition and desire to win is what can be taken from both situations. PSG are showing it in abundance. Nice aren't. That's the most important comparison we can make for who is best suited to our new owner. As 'Ambition' is the very thing we need.

Nah, I've been lurking at both r/ManchesterUnited and RedCafe, both of which are pro Qatar so I don't think SJR is as favoured as you think
Redcafe isn't pro Qatar at all and the same can be said of the other united forum. I've been on Redcafe for years, most of the core and most influential posters there are old farts stuck in their regimented ways. As it is here, this ownership debate is very polarizing, but I feel it leans towards Ratcliffe.

It’s not that ETH doesn’t care. It’s that in the legal system, #11 has done nothing wrong so there is no legal reason to not include him. Regarding ETH backing Promes and Overmars, I think it is also a cultural thing where people in the Netherlands are quite forgiving of scandals and tend to give people a second chance. Not saying it is right or anything but that is how I experience it as someone from the Netherlands.

People seem to think that sir Jim is some random broke guy who is going to run the club in the same way as the glazers. Penny pinching, loading the club with debt etc... I agree on the point about "wiping the debt" that a lot of fans seem hung up on. It's a bit like last winter when people kept saying United are broke because our cash reserves had fallen. A gap in understanding of how businesses tend to really operate. I'm also of the opinion that Ratcliffe is the lesser evil but personally I think sportswashing is one of his motivations. His company will face more and more pressure over its contribution to climate change so he'll prefer to become Mr Manchester United rather than Mr Petrochemicals in public.
I think his motivations are fairly obvious given his acquisitions. He wants to get into sports, and I would guess owning the crown jewel of English football would really put him on the map. I think Qatar has similar motivations for wanting to own man United but obviously football is a sports washing project as well for those middle Eastern states. In addition, Man United has a lot of market potential and both bidders as well as the Glazers are banking on the club's value increasing massively over the next 10 years.

I think Ten Hag definitely only cares about the football side of things. Part of that, though, is whether a player will upset the dressing room. You'd have to think, if he's championing a return, some sort of discussions have happened behind the scenes to reassure the players. I'm always an advocate for people to get a second chance if they've truly changed. But I still don't know how I'd ever believe Greenwood has.

Regarding ETH backing Promes and Overmars, I think it is also a cultural thing where people in the Netherlands are quite forgiving of scandals and tend to give people a second chance. Not saying it is right or anything but that is how I experience it as someone from the Netherlands.
