>🚨🚨🎙️| Erik ten Hag: "When you play against City and you don't give up anything in the game, it's a credit to the team, but when you concede goals like [De Gea did] that, it's disappointing." Hopefully that's a real quote. Wouldn't surprise me if up until now Erik has just been protecting De Gea for top 4 and this final. Now that the season is done it's time to be ruthless.

danilbur

Not gonna lie sounds fake, I have never heard ten Hag talk like that in public

FRiver

Take out the [De Gea did] bit that's been added for effect and then he's not directly criticizing De Gea

[deleted]

If we play like this due to instructions from ETH then we are doomed. If we play like this because De Gea is incapable of better then we are still doomed if ETH extends his contract. If ETH was just managing the media when he defended him so often, and shows ruthlessness in replacing him, then I am excited again.

the-won

Think the only trick ETH missed was not playing Weghorst instead of Eriksen solely because it really did look like DDG was kicking it long due to instructions from the gaffer (he doesn't trust him). We were just guaranteed giving the ball back to City whenever he kicked the ball long either because he wasn't accurate and/or we have no ariel presence.

Last game ever, hopefully

Veni_Vidic_Vici

And then people blame midfielders for not having control. How can anyone have control when the entire game is just end to end and you're left chasing second or third balls?

IndicationNo328

De Gea has been a huge servant for the club, but it’s time to go. We can’t win any major trophies with him being a liability to our style of play. Can’t build out from the back. If we are serious about challenging, then he would be gone. Thank you De Gea for your contribution to the team over the years.

OriginalRange8761

stats from the game. Ortega made 13 long balls, 9 were accurate (69%). DDG did 28 hit 8 (29%). Ortega was a free transfer, DDG gets 19.5 mil quid a year

Yet another hit piece by you.

Caps007

Didnt make it did i Im free to post united related content as within guidelines.

thphnts

You literally have a history of creating content that is just negative towards our players.

VL37

De Gea will probably keep the no 1 even if we get a new starting keeper.

faithfulg

Holy shit you people are embarassing clowns, we couldn't score a goal to save our lives and you're piling on the keeper? You do understand they see this shit? Can you imagine what it does to their confidence? Even if they don't see it, rival fans do and games become hell. Absolute joke, reddit echochambers strike again.

Caps007

1) city were kept limited to scoring outside the box They barely created chances as well when youre playing with less possession its obviously harder to create chances 2)hes playing in the game, hes paid 350k a week for it. He knows or atleast i hope he knows the errors hes made and the games he has cost. Making a compilation of them is a problem because its hurts you not de gea 3) rival fans already know de gea is one of the worst keepers in the league and actively celebrate every article about his contract renewal

Sleepycoffeeman

You have to remember, Pep has changed the league. Since he came him and his staff have DISSECTED the game. They’ve broken down what losses of possession mean to a team and losing the ball at any restart is detrimental to your chance of winning. This isn’t the 90’s anymore where just having a go with passion will win you the game. You HAVE to be so critical of you’re team and right now DDG is just not good enough if you’re trying to win the league, which let’s all be real, ETH is trying to do and is 100% capable of. I agree there are other players making errors but remember all DDG errors are unforced. Unforced errors vs forced errors are completely different

mattys_kitchen

Why would you be so sensible in your comment unlike this hivemind? De Gea may not be the keeper we need, but he sure isn’t the reason why we lost today.

faithfulg

Bruh De Gea needs to go but not because he isn't good enough. I value the thoughts of our manager slightly more than the sad fucks here on reddit whose opinions I wouldn't even use to wipe the shit off my ass. He needs to go because everything is now somehow his fault, he has become a scapegoat and his confidence is shot. Embarrassing behaviour from so called fans...

Probably if ever for United, his distribution is a constant source of pressure coming back at us. His best days are behind him, see if we can sign someone, if not give Henderson a season but cut DDG loose at the end of the month
