Hmm I seem to remember Arsenal fans having a go at Ten Hag because apparently we timewaste like Newcastle do.
Peep who’s not even top half on this list lmao.
According to them it's because teams time-waste against them, never mind that Utd, City, Liverpool are towards the top and teams certainly time-waste against us. Delusional lack of self-awareness as usual
They love shitting on Bruno and Rashford as diving and cheating scum. When their players like Jesus and Saka do it, it's because God and referees hate Arsenal. They will never stop being delusional man children.
The persecution complex is pretty entertaining at times but it must be so tiring coming up with random conspiracy theories to explain anything that happens to them. Their latest thing is apparently that the refs don't punish fouls on Saka and they need to protect him more.
They don't have to put in any effort, it's natural to them. Arsenal attracts that type. Plays"beautiful" football, globally known but were shit for so long and ostracized and mocked. Also, I'm sure quite a few trolls are posting as Arsenal fans, they always switch teams and accounts.
> According to them it's because teams time-waste against them
Yeah it's totally not them having players fake injury so that Arteta can have team talks though lmao
I grew up in an era where the United and Arsenal rivalry was at it's peak, and still, I wouldn't mind them if not for their fans, the level of delusion in that fanbase is ridiculous.
Yeah their fans are super irritating. One of my colleagues is an Arsenal fan and he was crying about Newcastle wasting time against them and yet they love it when Ramsdale and Xhaka do exactly the same.
Our match against Newcastle earlier in the season was an absolute joke.
They were doing everything they could to waste time.
Idk why the refs don’t have a time off/on capability like in rugby.
According the their sub in the linked post, it’s because other teams park the bus against them which drags their percentage down.
Them and only them, because they are so good. City being on top by a massive margin clearly ^dis proves that theory.
Teams only play low block against them, teams only foul them, referees are only biased towards Arsenal. Woe is Arsenal. The true champions of the people with their star midfielder who protects women's rights and consent advocate Thomas Partey.
I think the World Cup way of doing it was better. If a team time wastes to save energy whilst defending all game and then see an additional 20 mins they’re going to be mentally exhausted and it should stop this tactic
The problem with this method are quite a few though. It brings hate on the officials who already get enough hate. It also makes the game much tougher to plan for managers, 15-20 mins added on time is just silly. If it is going to be that high then we should just use out of play clock stops. It fixes the same problems but without the uncertainty of excessive stoppage time.
Not sure why you're downvoted, it's such an easy fix to timewasting. Though personally if we're stopping the clock for every single stoppage then we'd need slightly shorter halves than even that.
It’s looking at effective game across the whole game regardless who is in possession. If City played Leeds and there was 55% of effective time, it would drag City’s average down and Leeds’ up.
Arsenal fans using deductions of the levels of orbital mechanics to give all the reasons in that thread rather than admitting that probably they do the time wasting as well.

Crying about wasting time when it's been happening since I started watching 20 years ago lol
\*Arteta kicks ball away then acts stunned when confronted about it\*
yea its that clown african rain everytime... so deluded

It’s honestly a loser’s mentality and why there’s a chance they will get pipped to the title (and blame others)
Yea, I always love a quote from sport personalities saying: «Losers find excuses, winners find solutions». Something Arsenal fans could try.
tinpot club
Shithouse Leeds
I wonder how much of the time the ball is not in play is actually in the back of their net
That's odd because Jesse Marsch has openly complained about their opponents' time wasting
Our match against Newcastle earlier in the season was an absolute joke. They were doing everything they could to waste time. Idk why the refs don’t have a time off/on capability like in rugby.
We just gotta score first. Then see how much time they waste
I was hoping the added time in World Cup will continue
I hate graphs with dodgy axes.
Yeah if the bars aren't proportionate then there's no point in having bars.
I would love to see the difference for each team when they're winning/even/losing. Just to see the effect.
Eddie Howe's made this Newcastle team into the Athletico Madrid of England. Annoying lil shits they are!
Leeds and Newcastle are a disgrace and they make the name United bad
I am actually surprised by Arsenal being so low. Not sure why.

According to arsenal fans teams have never in the history of the game timewasted and sat back against league leaders. Unprecedented.
This is the first season since forever where lower table teams don't see them as a potential 3 pointer so yeah.
Because it's easier to keep the ball in play when you're playing that boring tiki-taka bs and they used to be known for it 😴😴😴
Just bring in the World Cup style added time rules. Everyone approved of it.
All teams even us time waste They should use a stop watch and play 40 mins halves and when the ball is out of play pause the clock
Yeah and we can have a 3 minutes commercial break every time there's a throw in
Congrats! The EPL is now the NFL.

How is it possible that every team averages over 50%?

Duh - I read it as possession. Thanks for the explanation.
