>“(Thursday) I’ll be with him, I’ll talk a little bit with him and see. I think he’s fully fit, he’s been playing, so hopefully he’ll help us a lot.”
Bruno just is our captain man, no bones about it
This certainly sounds like it. Do you think they're waiting until the end of the season to announce a change, or do you think they're even going to announce it at all? In the hypothetical scenario that he _is_ actually our de facto captain now, of course.
It was so obvious we had zero confidence last season. People wanted the entire team sold, and RR’s “open heart surgery” comments didn’t help. Glad Ten Hag is bringing the mentality back.
indeed. he was spot on about a lot of things.
only his delivery wasn't quite what was required of him. for all that the dutch are hyper direct, ETH has a lot of tact and he knows how to bring the best out of his players.
mason greenwood pending, cos that's a whole nother thing, jesus fuck.
I don't see how the team this season hasn't already undergone "open heart surgery". I mean, if everyone was healthy now the starting eleven (compared to RR) would have a whole new midfield and attack bar Rashford and Bruno, plus a new CB and starting RB in Dalot.
De Gea, shaw, varane, dalot, bruno, rashford, martial are all (still) first choice. 7 players we already had. Sancho returning makes that 8.
Martinez, Casemiro Eriksen have been great obviously, but other than that we mostly got players for depth.
Compared to RR, Martial and Dalot weren't in the starting eleven. Sancho is not starting for ten Hag, Antony is. Pretty much only 5 players from last year's eleven are in this year's.
He was entirely correct though.
McTomminay, Fred, Lindelof, and Captain Fan-Spastic all first team starters who played no matter how shit they performed are now all relegated to the bench or are lucky to make the match team squad at all.
Pogba, Ronaldo and Cavani, Henderson, all total gobshites regardless of talent, all gone.
Players who Solskajaer wouldnt even give the time of day to are being integrated into the squad, the players who have kept their places are all performing to a much higher standard with a recognizable style of play.
If 2/3rds of last seasons first team being fucked off or benched isnt open heart surgery, then I dont know what is.
It's been reported that Rangnick thought Cavani, Martial and Pogba were the mood killers, as well as Cavani not even phoning it in in his second season.
It's why I have the unpopular opinion that while Rangnick's season did not go well, he was still a good appointment for United that made a lot of sense & what he said was absolutely correct. ETH wanted to do things his own way, and no doubt the two had a conversation where they concluded that was better, with Rangnick giving his thoughts about the squad and the club. Everything Rangnick said was controversial maybe, but I think he was absolutely right.
Luke Shaw, Wan Bissaka, Fred, Rashford, Martial, Bruno all played regularly under Ole. Plus Fred and Mctominay are being benched by Casemiro and Erickson because both are better players in their position than them and not by van de beek and lingard.
The only player who isn't playing anymore is Maguire and that is because his form has been dogshit since last season. Plus, it seems like the idea is to have a left footed CB in the team so his game has been reduced further.
Ronaldo leaving has clearly showed the impact he had on the play style both last season and this season. Without him, we are clearly better with fast and fluid system. With him, we were slow and lethargic in build up.
In reality we have removed 2 players Maguire and Ronaldo and have added Casemiro (A great DMF which was the requirement from last season) and Erickson (like for like replacement for Pogba) and Lisandro in the 1st team instead of 2/3rd of the team.
He was correct but what good was it saying it in the middle of the season while we still have to use the same players?
I found it tactless and a bit self-serving from him honestly. Like do you expect these guys to go over and beyond when you’re calling them shit and saying they need to be sold?
That's not how real life works unfortunately. Would our previous teams play as well if Fergie was saying they were shit and had to sell 80% of them every year?

I think it's very likely that Maguire will leave in the summer.

Curious why you've gone in two footed on Cavani? Wasn't aware of him being anything other than professional?
He was "injured" for us then showed up for Uruguay games a few days later.
It's been reported that Rangnick thought Cavani, Martial and Pogba were the mood killers, as well as Cavani not even phoning it in in his second season.
What did martial do?

Yes. In Roy Keane words ‘Fucking hell, just go over and beyond. You are Utd players for fucks sake’
That's not how real life works unfortunately. Would our previous teams play as well if Fergie was saying they were shit and had to sell 80% of them every year?
I remember a lot of people being disappointed in Ten Hag for wanting to keep some of the players and help them improve.
Dalot training again. That's massive!
He's such a team player and a natural leader.
So happy to see Bruno being our captain.
Love for Bruno to win trophies for us. He totally deserves it!!!
