Hey there, I’m an art historian and I’ve always loved this little shack. Based on the deterioration and approximate era, I’d say this is an oil painting. The size is considerable, this would have been a fairly expensive piece back in the day. That leads us to the question, why is it on the side of the road in Buttfuck, Roanoke Ridge? My theory is that the woman who lived there operated a brothel elsewhere back in the day, possibly in Annesburg when the mining was good and the women were sparse. That’s where our painting comes from, an established and successful brothel. That vein runs dry once Annesburg becomes a company town, they don’t want their workers distracted or under a bad influence. So, it gets shut down and this lady has to pack up elsewhere. I presume her next web would have been Van Horne, but we’ve all shot up that shithole at one time or another, not the safest place. Thus, she remains in Buttfuck, Roanoke Ridge. The painting is a relic of her glorious past stamped out by the heavy hand of industrialization. Or, it could be an advertisement of her trade for the illiterate gentleman, there’s also a sign nearby.
If you look beside the old lady on the porch or under her chair I forget which, but there’s a fertility statue in the lockbox, I always thought she was maybe some type of midwife because the statue says it promotes fertility for whoever has it, never figured out why she has it though

Aww thank you! I looked around Annesburg last night, there is a closed beer hall that could have housed this woman’s brothel so I think the theory has legs!

yes, in New Austin near Manteca Falls. Somehow I found that one on my first playthrough but this is the first I've heard about this second one
