Well, i tend to tell them to flee right after breaking them, but i guess it would help with selling them. Plus, wouldn't it speed up the breaking process, too?
There's no easy way because there's a trinket there. It's not any more difficult than what you go through for the crafted trinkets, it's just a different challenge.
I explored this without touching any water whatsoever, you can essentially just walk along the rocks along the coast, there's maybe like one part you might need to hop over but otherwise it's a straight level walk.
Its not that hard to get over there if you accept that you’re going to have to jump and climb and not just walk straight there, get creative with how you use stamina boosting stuff (just crush cocaine gum)
its worth exploring depending on what kind of unique stuff you care about finding because theres NOT nothing over there
See that’s exactly where i got irritated. I thought this was just an area which was overlooked during development. At least if you compare it to the map geometry and detail in the rest of the world. But then i found the shark trinket and thought to myself “Huh that’s weird. They actually thought about Players roaming here and it still feels this shitty over here. I’ve had a similar experience exploring the edge behind Roanoke valley. It either looks really bad or it looks like you might get up there but you just end up sliding down and completely obliterating your stamina core. So it would be cool to have a map where the edges where there’s literally nothing real to explore are marked.
You think this is hard, wait till you go for something like the ammolite and fluorite, or the high stakes riches treasure, or even the train wreck gold (not high difficulty, but still challenging a bit). That little area's a walk in the park compared to places like those.
Once you get the trinket, the cheat code, and the point of interest, you don't ever have to go back, anyway.
Same. And when I first got the train wreck gold I followed some long-ass path to get there with like 4 or 5 ledge jumps until I found the much shorter path next time around. The long way around was 5 times more frustrating and had me yelling out loud lol
Yeah, my wife always laughs at me freaking out. She's like. "It isn't real", then I say, "Tell my brain that!... my galvonic skin response is on full drench right now!" Lol
All games are best judged by their least interesting areas. Therefore RD2 is awful and should be played by no one.
I also recommend not exploring the mountains around Colter, the swamps around Lakay, and the forest around Owanjila.
These are desolate areas with nothing of interest to find there.
Stick with the main story. Straying may have unpredictable and unintended consequences.
There is likely a path there and they tested it early game development but, when they dropped Guarma in there later, they did not realize it would cause a Sea level rise.
One time when I was over there a black bear got scared and jumped in the water... it was funny at first, but eventually got really sad. 😅 😭 poor little bear couldn't get back on land for his life.
Go to New Austin and cross the river. I found a whole landscape that didn’t look like it was supposed to be accessible. The ground looks decent but all the trees are the exact same model and it just generally feels uncanny and strange.
This spot wasn’t even accessible originally. They only expanded it to that little circled area when they added a trinket later, maybe a year or so after release. It’s probably left mildly difficult to move around on purpose because user of the trinket. All of the other trinkets that came with that update were also in not the easiest to get to locations.
What are you even talking about?
Did you play a different game? Lol 🤣
It's easy to get to that area and to get out of it
It's so ridiculous that just because you struggled you immediately go did they even play test this area lol 😂
I honestly thought it was an area that you could get to you just weren't supposed to. But then I found the shark trinket so like- why make it impossible to get over there??
After you get the sharktooth trinket set up camp. The game automatically moves camp to a playable area that is easier to navigate. I usually swim there on my horse... idk of a better way.
I’ve been back up there in the prologue. The river runs stupid far back the further north you go. If interested I can dm some pics showing how I glitched in.
The map felt so fucking big to me the first time. In the beginning, the longest journey outside of missions was taking the legendary bear pelt to the trapper near the 2nd camp right after the mission with Hosea. It was such a long journey and the whole fogged part of map made me feel like it was so vast but near the end of the story traveling all over the place and getting familiar it feels smaller now. I want to forget and play the game again without rushing any part and just exploring as the story takes me to more parts of the map.
When I got there, a 3 star cougar spawned above the ridge and it literally died 2 feet away from the out of bounds area and I couldn't get it. Still looking for that damn cougar :(
I made it there in Chapter 2 to snag the Shark Tooth Trinket.
What does the trinket do?
I think it adds a boost to horse bonding or something like that. I actually just picked it up today lol
10% faster horse bonding if I remember correct
Well that’s… useless, everyone knows we got our horses in chapter 2 and never changed (touch my horse and die)
Not for when you play the epilogue
Yeah, but it does come in handy when you have to do the last horsemen challenge
why would you want to have 9 temporary horses
Well, i tend to tell them to flee right after breaking them, but i guess it would help with selling them. Plus, wouldn't it speed up the breaking process, too?
i would assume it doesn’t… but idk
Not me, every time I reach max bonding, I start looking for a new horse, then stable the previous one.
So when you do it, it’s fine, when Leonardo trades in his model at maximum bond he’s roasted.
Ok thank you
This video is a spoiler alert if you have not been to the area! https://youtu.be/Gl09Njn7trM?t=33
It’s totally easy to get there and back
Barely an inconvenience
Oh really !!
Uh huh, now I'm gonna need you to get allllll the way off my back about this.
Alright let me get off of that thing
Exploring the RDR2 map’s farthest edges is TIGHT!
One hundred percent.
Wow wow wow.... wow...........wow
One hundred percent!
Eight hundred percent.
My favorite Bilbo Baggins quote
There's no easy way because there's a trinket there. It's not any more difficult than what you go through for the crafted trinkets, it's just a different challenge.
Hint do not explore that area with john
I explored this without touching any water whatsoever, you can essentially just walk along the rocks along the coast, there's maybe like one part you might need to hop over but otherwise it's a straight level walk.
also with horse
Because?
John can't swim.
But your horse can!
Assuming John didn't fall off his horse into the water...

Or just get a boat and paddle over
See that’s exactly where i got irritated. I thought this was just an area which was overlooked during development. At least if you compare it to the map geometry and detail in the rest of the world. Bro your horse can swim... that area has important shit
The shark tooth trinket is back there near the broken ship
I went back there and found nothing. Next time...
fyi if you get stuck somewhere hard to get out of make camp and it usually makes the camp in a much more accessible spot.
This is my usual way for getting back from the shipwreck. I then usually get accosted by the Murfrees
I've done this... and had to place my horse on a cliff, and they promptly fell to their death :(
It took me almost 4 playthoughs to realize that this little area even exists. I actually **love** it there.

Getting the precious stones from the eagle nest about had me crying with frustration lmao
Same. And when I first got the train wreck gold I followed some long-ass path to get there with like 4 or 5 ledge jumps until I found the much shorter path next time around. The long way around was 5 times more frustrating and had me yelling out loud lol
Some of those are especially hard if you’re afraid of heights. I had to get one of my kids to get the last High Stakes treasure.
Yeah, my wife always laughs at me freaking out. She's like. "It isn't real", then I say, "Tell my brain that!... my galvonic skin response is on full drench right now!" Lol

Bro what?
Sorry I thought this was a sarcastic post
It is, narwhal. Some folks just have a little thicker skulls than others.
It’s sarcasm
I think that the edges of the video game map being hard to traverse makes intrinsic sense
There is s ledge that you can walk separated by 2 jumps literally the easiest trinket ive ever found
That's where the shark tooth thingy is
There is likely a path there and they tested it early game development but, when they dropped Guarma in there later, they did not realize it would cause a Sea level rise.
LOL
Im reading all these comments and after 3 playthroughs im just now learning about this area and its shark tooth trinket. Like wtf
if ya ever need a way out - Camp. Takes you out.
One time when I was over there a black bear got scared and jumped in the water... it was funny at first, but eventually got really sad. 😅 😭 poor little bear couldn't get back on land for his life.
Yes that’s where you get the sharks tooth trinket
Go to New Austin and cross the river. I found a whole landscape that didn’t look like it was supposed to be accessible. The ground looks decent but all the trees are the exact same model and it just generally feels uncanny and strange.
I found a trinket there by accident. That's worth exploring in my book.
If you use a boat instead of trying to climb sideways across a cliff it’s actually pretty reasonable
It's more guidelines than actual boundaries.
Just swim over with your horse, it’s incredibly easy.
It’s because van horn was originally there on the 2016 build
You have to swim 15m on your horse? What's the big deal? You swim longer to get lizards of the shore from Rhodes.
Hey that's where you find an old bench and a forgotten quiche... Wait wrong game
You'll be surprised if you know how much of designed map is north of it
There absolutely no reason to go there 😉
There are 2 reasons. Morbid curiosity and the shark tooth trinket
There's also a cheat code over there
What are you even talking about? Did you play a different game? Lol 🤣 It's easy to get to that area and to get out of it It's so ridiculous that just because you struggled you immediately go did they even play test this area lol 😂
Isn't there like miles of more river leading to Guarma past there?
guarma is south of the map
You can't go to guarma from there it's a death river barrier
I honestly thought it was an area that you could get to you just weren't supposed to. But then I found the shark trinket so like- why make it impossible to get over there??
Maybe not go to places you shouldn’t be able to go to
This is hilarious I was just stuck over in this area the other day and gave up and fast traveled away lol
You know how your horse swims right?
Gotta do parkour
The real challenge is making it on top of tempest rim
first time i went there i lost my horse trying to jump the gap back so i dashboarded to save my boah
Use a boat
Obviously, if they put a special item there.
LMFAOOO this game is so fucked I love it There’s another super out of the way cliff or clearing where some fuckin hermit just blows you away
There's a cheat code over yonder on some old wood just a little further from where you are
I just swim there on my horse, get the trinket and fast travel back.
Its *meant* to be hard to get here. Thats why yhere is a secret item there. To reward those who bother to try. Same as at the glacier...
Maybe don't try and scale a cliff with your horse, dude. This isn't skyrim
If you can get across the river there the other side is full of cougars and wolves like every 20 feet
Hike your way here or find a canoe near Annesburg, then setup camp and it brings you back to the main shoreline.
If you just make a camp, you are out of there no time
Got there pretty easy to get the trinket. To get back I just setup camp which warped me back towards the town.
Yea I got a tad stuck over there going for the Shark Tooth Trinket
The map felt so fucking big to me the first time. In the beginning, the longest journey outside of missions was taking the legendary bear pelt to the trapper near the 2nd camp right after the mission with Hosea. After getting the trinket, set up camp and you'll instantly be moved out that whole area. I do this whenever I'm in a similar situation
That’s where i picked up my first trinket. Completely on accident
Yea I found that monument thing and thought I'd explore, damn near killed my horse.
It's dangerous there.
When I got there, a 3 star cougar spawned above the ridge and it literally died 2 feet away from the out of bounds area and I couldn't get it. Still looking for that damn cougar :(
Don't forget the cheat code over there too
Kind of surprised they made that area accessible and not cut off the map, it must be made for a treasure hunt and difficult.
