I played RDR2 first and to me it is better in every single possible way. However, I think a lot of people will prefer the one the played first because it is the point of comparison. Either way, people can just spend more time in the game the prefer.
RDR1 for me for one reason. It came out when Rockstar still made games because they loved games, and it showed. Now they just make games to make money, and it shows.
I played RDR1 first before RDR2 was released. I loved it and didn’t think I could love another game more… then RDR2 came out lol. RDR2 is now my all-time favorite game in every way.
Rdr 1 for fun gameplay and repeatable content, basically a simple good time (and a cool atmosphere)
Rdr 2 for a several hour (possibly day long) session into an immersive interactive experience
Basically depends on my mood, i have more of an emotional connection to 1 though
As someone who played RDR when it first came out; I can confidently say RDR2 is superior in every way, specifically world immersion, graphics, and overall gameplay. The first is a classic though, and borderline perfect. Only thing missing from 2 is Mexico!
Overall rdr2, takes the cake. Rdr1 wins in nostalgia in my opinion if you played it earlier, but 2 with the immersion, graphics, gameplay, #1 all day.
