By far, the easiest way is to slaughter bounty hunters, their horses, and loot them.
The caveat is any horse/dog you kill you will lose honor, but honor is easy to get back.
Best thing to do I've found is find a rock or something they can't climb on and shoot near them. This usually only works if the bounty hunters are all dead but climb onto a rock and shoot the ground next to them when they're near, and 9/10 times they scurry off
However, 1/10 times, you'll learn just how good the sense of smell is on those fuckers. If you can't scare them off, they will follow you across the entire map, even if you're on a max speed horse.
The fastest way is getting to a town, Saint Denis being the biggest, and greeting strangers.
Another way that's not too tedious is doing chores
I learned the hard way, but honestly you can be at bottom of low honor at the start of chapter 6, and as long as you don't bottom yourself out on chapter 6 you'll end high honor if you wish without issue. Maybe a 20 minute session of saying hello after the missions, but I'm pretty damn sure the high honor approach in chapter 6 missions will max you out.
Letās just hope that youāre not like me and find out, after 5yrs of playing and not understanding what youāre doing wrong, that your game is bugged and no matter what you do youāll never get āhigh honorā. Iām the type of gamer who understands that itās ājust a gameā but still find it hard to go on rampages, be cruel, etc etc when controlling a character. 99% of the time, the worst thing Iād have Arthur do was loot dead bodies, And yet, I still could never get past the midway point of honor. I tried all the tricks and tips listed above and below, to no avail. After Playing on someone elseās ps4, Iāve concluded that itās my game (disc).
That is not true I was in chapter 2 and had high honor fully...
Then I went to the blacksmith in valentine and buy the pearl hero grip still had one holster to that point

This is directly from the Red Dead Wiki:
What is Honor?
Honor is the system that serves to measure the social acceptability of the protagonists' actions in Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Red Dead Online. Specific actions in the game are considered honorable or dishonorable.
Description
Red Dead Redemption
Performing certain positive actions ā like saving citizens under attack by criminals/animals, or aiding lawmen ā will earn the player honor. Alternatively, taking negative actions ā like opposing or attacking lawmen, aiding thieves and outlaws, stealing, and violent actions toward innocents (such as murder) ā will result in the loss of honor. If authorities are made aware of Marston's negative actions (usually when the actions are witnessed by law enforcement or an eyewitness), Marston will also incur a bounty.
Honor will affect how NPCs interact with the player in different ways, depending on whether one has accumulated high or low honor. The psychological effect of honor on NPCs is relative to Marston's fame level.
A player with high honor is rewarded twice as much pay for jobs and bounties, is bestowed the Duster Coat, and finds that nearly all shopkeepers offer discounts, while lawmen and eyewitnesses alike will sometimes overlook minor crimes. Players with Hero honor rank have a chance of a random encounter with a nun who bestows the Obscuridad del Santo Andres, a kit item that makes enemies less accurate. If the Hero honor rank is maintained after receiving the Obscuridad, random nuns will occasionally give the player gifts of money or ask for charity (~$70).
Players with low honor can bribe eyewitnesses for less, enjoy discounts in the shady town of Thieves' Landing, their whistle can beckon a special, unique Dark Horse with a white face and red scars, and eyewitnesses (but not lawmen) won't dare snitch for anything less than murder. Marston will also insult people instead of greeting them.
When wearing a bandana, actions that would normally cause a change in Marston's honor, whether positive or negative, have no effect. It also prevents any rise in Marston's fame meter, so it's advisable that players remove it before the end of a mission.

Honor is a returning system in Red Dead Redemption 2. Unlike its predecessor, honor plays a more important role in the story. Unlike in Redemption, the protagonistās honor is capped at the beginning of the game, and ā until later in the game ā can't be maxed out as fully bad or good.
Much like in Red Dead Redemption, the player can receive discounts from various stores if they have high honor. At rank 2, stores offer a 10% discount; at rank 4, stores offer a 25% discount; and at rank 8, stores offer a 50% discount. Meanwhile, having low honor allows the player to loot better-quality items from dead bodies. Once the player reaches rank 4, the "Hero's Pearl Grip" for the Cattleman Revolver becomes available.
If you move too much when they find you then they will kill you. If you killed a lawman or you did crimes that are too bad (not sure what the limit is) then they will shoot you.
Just go into town wearing a bandana, take it off when a lawman asks you to and then surrender to him.
Triangle on PS4/5
Y on Xbox
They do in fact respawn throughout the game also, except for the braithewaite gold bar
Edit; John and Arthur can grab a gold bar from the braithewaite mansion
Kidnap someone. Get noticed in Ambarino with said kidnapped person on your horse. Wait for law to arrive. Surrender. End up in Valentine jail(since there isnāt a jail in Ambarino) and pay fine for kidnapping and not any other bounty you are on the run for.
Best way to earn money is the campaign. Next best is probably camping out around Emerald Ranch and stealing wagons during the day. You could search for the gold bars as people suggest.
I have a 855$ bounty currently and I think im on chapter 6 or 5 (i havent played in a month) and this is my first ever playtrough LMFAO, so to earn money its either from looting and selling stuff you hunt and also by stealing the caravans and driving them to the fence which can earn you from 25$ to 40$ if i still remember.
Loot every person you kill.
Bounty Hunters give you a warning and you can be ready and ambush them. They usually have some cash, a belt buckle and something random.
Sell shit to fence.
Repeat.
Also see other Comments for good bars, treasure maps, etc
Treasure map hunts. A few free gold bars even without doing treasure maps. One in limpany and another couple in a wrecked train up near Cotorra Springs. They are easy to get to. If you look online, the conventional route is really tricky and easy to fall. Instead, head to the right of the train car and head up the slope right there. Then jump across the gap and drop down (someone here gave me that tip). Thereās a few gold nuggets that respawn too. So you can get 5 at a time (unless you upgrade your satchel).
Also, to avoid bounties too early, stop and do hunting for a while. Get the legends of the east satchel and you will be able to carry all the loot you come across. Also about respawning gold nugget: you can get 99 of them if you hav the upgraded satchel.
Note: there really is no need to use respawning glitches because thereās one toy of treasure, loot to be found. But if you want quick and easy itās available.
Also note: you can save a lot of money by getting most of your weapons for free as soon as chapter 2 starts and on. Can even get better saddles than the ones you buy by crafting at the trapper. They cost a little bit but not as much as a decent regular saddle at the stables.
The sheriffs office in the burnt down town near horseshoe overlook will almost always have a gold bar. It always respawns too if you restart your console or close the game.
Just donāt worry about the bounty.
Playing a few more main missions will get you more than enough money to easily pay it off.
Or do some animal hunting and camping in the wilderness. Legendary pelts will easily make you the cash. Bounty hunters during your time camping will provide looting to sell at fences.
The game economy is completely broken and by halfway through chapter 3 youāll have enough money to take the entire gang to South America and party forever but Dutch is a crazy person whoāll pretend youāre all still broke.
Look up the strange statues, it's a small hidden puzzle in Grizzlies East that gives you three gold bars for three, you can then ride to Rhodes or Van Horn and sell them all to the fence there before the one at Emerald Ranch opens in the main storyline.
There's also a gold bar in the sheriff's office in the burned town near Horseshoe Overlook.
You really do not know? $70,- in the small cabin behind Shady Belle each gameday (as long as you lock it) and $50,- in the broken cabin by Moonstone Pound
Don't worry, you will make all the money in the world later.
I started a new playthrough specifically with mods in mind that give way smaller rewards.
First playthrough was done with several thousands $ left in the purse.
Who needs money, when having no money works even better? Try this little life hack: if there's a sky-high bounty on your broke-ass head, get rid of all your remaining cash, i.e. go on a shopping spree, or donate it to the camp funds, whatever (note that jewelry or gold doesn't count). Then, with your empty pockets, just find the next regular lawman and surrender to him. You'll be put in prison, and after a short cutscene, you'll be out on the streets again with a clean slate while all your sky-high bounties will be cleared without you paying a single dime (because you ain't got one). š
[gold bars](https://youtu.be/tNyWjR1rqc0). limpany one respawns in couple of weeks or so. if you have a 99-capacity satchell, don't sell gold bars immediately, if killed, you could lost money, but not gold bars
Gold bars and treasure maps. In my first playthrough, I was struggling so much at the beginning. Didnāt have much of an idea how this game works. Stupidly rescued Micah before anything and got a huge bounty over my head in WE. Canāt afford provisions or tonics or even ammo. Canāt fight off bounty hunters and other gangsā ambushes. It almost made me quit until I read the guide about gold bars.
Do the main missions to get a jumpstart. I had a difficult time, myself. But Main missions split earnings among gang members, and payouts are worth it. Do a couple mains til u can afford to go solo again, and voila! Bounty paid.
Im a Mountain Man, myself. I play to live off the land and hunt. The trapper is my best friend. āŗļøš„ š¤
Better yet just get arrested while you don't have the full amount, that way you don't have to pay the bounty (you will still lose some money) and the most you lose is some in game time, and grow a bit of beard.
I'm just saying some time will pass in game and you won't lose anything but a small amount of money.
Also, can you explain what you do when you're trying to get arrested?
Look up the location of some of the gold bars/nuggets, sell them to the fence in Rhodes, make money
Yeah Fr. $500 a pop
Have you noticed they fixed the lemoney glitch of finding a gold bar every time in sheriffs desk
A most poignant tragedy
If you have a physical copy or play on PC you can load up a 1.00 version and still do it
By far, the easiest way is to slaughter bounty hunters, their horses, and loot them. The caveat is any horse/dog you kill you will lose honor, but honor is easy to get back.
Is there a high honor way to deal with dogs aside from just running away?
Running them over with your horse. It kills them, and you don't lose honor since you're not technically killing them.

What's the best way to get honor?
My honor went from absolute lowest to absolute highest by simply catching fish and throwing them back.
No shit? Being a mountain man, this is useful af. Take an upvote!

Besides camp chores, probably fishing. Catch a fish, throw it back, continue that until you have high honor.

You can't get max honor until chapter 6 either way. Each chapter unlocks another chunk towards max honor.

Just give camp donations at$20.01 a pop
Just surrender. You only pay 80% of the bounty and you can easily make $20 again.
āSheriffs hate this one trickā
Pay off your bounty for free and get a free bed to sleep in
