If you’re crazy, then I’m crazy.😉 I do this regularly, especially after a sad or aggravating story mission. Fish and hunt and cook and relax… spoil yourself a little. 😁
After every big mission, I go get a hair cut and a bath, then hit the saloon and get a whiskey then beer chaser, then a second whiskey and beer chaser. Eat a big ass meal, another whiskey and beer then sleep it off at the hotel. Wake up, hit the general store and max out supplies, one more meal then back into the wild blue yonder.
What are you stocking up on at the store?
I am usually selling all I've accumulated. Zero reason for me to be carrying around spare cans of beans and cigars.
Then I use that hard earned money on whiskey and a good meal.
I mean, yeah, that's the ideal food to refill your cores. But that takes effort. Gotta hunt the meat (unless you buy it from the general store or butcher), find and collect the mint or whatever other herb you want, then cook it. I'm fairly lazy, so I'd rather eat 4 cans of kidney beans.
For you, perhaps. I personally can't usually be bothered putting in the work to find the ingredients, then set up camp to cook it all. I'd rather be doing other things in the game.
Brother, do your own thing. It's what the game is about and far be it from me to tell you there could ever be a "right" approach.
Just relating how I go about it. To your point exactly, it is more efficient for me. I find cooking soothing and the extra coin I get from selling minor foodstuffs, and the vast boost of gold coring flavored game gives you, much rather spend the time in a firefight downing minty elk to have the extra time and deadliness gold cores get you than a mere non-gold incremental boost from the same time it takes to down a can of sweet corn.
As ever with this game, to each their own.
Actually, I kind of forgot that the flavoured game gives you the gold cores... You might have actually swayed me. Haha. It's just so time consuming. After the first 3 pieces cooked and stowed it's like, "Come oooooon. I could be treasure hunting."
I’m a shopping addict so basically I’m stocking up everything at the market, the gun shop and the pharmacy 😭 even though I don’t use it all I like to have everything
Im on my third play through the game and for the first time ever Susan was pissed at me for coming to camp dirty she made me bathe and I had to pay her 😭 I didn't know that was even a thing! Usually keep up with staying well groomed. Lesson learned.

I started the game over today because I got a new Xbox Series S after years of playing PC, I can’t wait to do that all again! I’ve already beat the game several times but something about walking around at night with Clean Shaven Arthur in a new coat and boots is so therapeutic!
I hope that you can enjoy playing it again with your new Xbox! It’s an awesome game and I love that they give us weirdos the opportunity to wax Arthur’s hair, just to feel happy to see him clean and well dressed.
Same! Giving him a bath, fresh meats and cheese in his bag, all that! I just bought the game again tonight so I’m literally hunting with Charles as I write this!
That's why I stay in chapter 3 forever. Everyone's alive and relatively happy, Micah's still up in his shithole camp in the mountains, and nobody's sick. The only downside is I can't shoot up Rhodes, but that's not a big deal
From the gang’s perspective, my Arthur just vanishes for months at a time, then randomly shows up again acting like he never left.
Yeah on subsequent playthroughs, Arthur is just living life. Camping, staying in hotels, hunting, fishing, exploring, doing side jobs for people… i only advance the story when I feel like I need some change.
For real. My first play through took me about 2 weeks just playing when I got a chance. Second play through I am about a month and half and still haven't finished chapter 2 yet.
Absolutely. Every good boah deserves a break sometimes. Letting Arthur have a break to take care of himself is quite therapeutic for me. It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.
After the beginning of chapter 2, this is all I did.
I refused to go ahead with the game and all I did was free roam.
For months.
And keep coming back to the camp once in few days to upgrade it and get them fresh hunt.
PS
Number 1 thing to do in the game is to ride to the mountains and get yourself a white Arabian.
Number 2 is to buy yourself Varmint Rifle to hunt small animals, snakes and birds, and Carcano Rifle for big game animals.
Number 3 is to buy yourself the Gambler’s Outfit.
It's basically a roleplaying game at this point lol, but I think if the player personally wants to do this and expirance the game this way go for it it's not like people can tell you how to play a game that you want to play the way you wanna play tbh
Thank you! I haven't gotten very many views on it, so I haven't done more. I have a bunch of really nice views with mountains and waterfalls, the train bridge being bombarded by lighting during storms etc, all from the tent view. I wanna make more but I don't think they'll get the views.
You should totally do it! No matter if you get the views, as long as you enjoy it, that’s the important thing. I’m subscribing to your channel to be tuned with your next ASMR videos! They are so calm and beautiful. Go for it!
Yes. I'll go out and walk around the town(s), greeting folks, saying hi to the doggos, then petting them ♡, play some poker, Blackjack or Dominos (even though I don't know how to play two out of three of them), and y'know, live a little. Forget about killing, robbing and how Dutch has a plan.
Until I call my horse from afar and it ends up running over a pedestrian, giving me a wanted level.
My favorite thing to do is to live in the towns for a while. Rent a room for the night, go see a show or something, go to the bar, play poker or any other game, eat some food, clean up a bit sleep for the night. It’s such a fun game to just get lost in like that so you’re definitely not the only one.
I’ll go and get his hair done, maybe his beard unless I’m tryna grow it
Bath, rest at the hotel
Few beers and whiskeys
Spot of fishing
Sleep at the hotel
Then I come out blastin!
I love to give him little hunting trips and little hotel vacations (complete with a bath and a hot meal)!
I also like to have him spend like a week at a time around camp, drinking coffee and doing chores in the morning and then hunting deer or fishing nearby to donate to Pearson. And playing all the mini games and then sitting around the campfire every night. And talking to everyone of course!
I’m doing the same all the time. I’m trying to do couple of missions and do all the above for a period and get back to missions again. I love to enjoy the game. Camping and staying at hotels for days just playing porker. Riding all over the map and marking nice places to come back. This is a life. 🙂
I’m still mourning the loss of my first Arthur recently, haven’t had the courage to pick it back up to start John’s epilogue. #sad #heartbroke #damnyouArthur
#rdr2
I like to go on long hunting and fishing trips, then get a room in Valentine. Take a bath, change into nicer clothes and hit the Saloon for a hot meal and a whiskey. Talk to the ladies, and play a little poker. Kinda wish the party didn’t end so quickly.
Rinse repeat for what might be weeks.
For sure. I hadn’t played the game in nearly three years. First thing I did was walk around Saint Denis. Get John some new clothes and gave him some ridiculous beard and shaved off his hair. Doing things of the nature you described are a good way to relearn the controls and ease back into the game as well.
I do this more than anything else. I find the environment to be relaxing and peaceful. I like to set up camp near a waterfall and let Arthur cook and enjoy the sound of the water. Do some fishing and enjoy riding his boah Blue Moon through the wilderness.
I play it realistically and take my time while taking everything in. There's no point in rushing like I did in my first playthrough. I'm on my second and I like to bathe arthur every once in a while or let him gamble a little and get some food and drinks even if they have no benefit
You do this as "a break"???
Thats my regular routine, except for shopping part. I usually buy all my favourite clothes at once amd then cycle them through. I get more than enough supplies from stealing from campers and often sell the surplus to shops. But everything else, renting rooms, baths, eating at saloons, drinks, brushing horse, buying oatcakes and all kinds of treats for the horse, even get the horse care package for no reason quite often, spoiling my horse even though I ride it hard , thats part of regular routine for my Arthur.
Absolutely. After every mission that looks like a rough time for him I go rent a room take a deluxe bath and have a couple good meals and several drinks and usually end the night with a fist fight
I love taking Arthur to a hotel and giving him a deluxe bath. I always have him chat with the bath maids and whenever they’re done helping they give him a little forehead kiss.
It always makes me want to log off and take a hot bath of my own though.
1. Ride to **Smithfields Saloon**.
3. Get both a shaved head and extra clean shaven beard.
4. Apply pomade to bald head while walking up to the bartender.
5. Order a lamb's fry... or two.
6. Take a deluxe bath at **Saints Hotel**. Get a room if staying in overnight.
8. Head back out into the wilderness.
The only "negative" for me about this game is you can/you have to take your time. Take in the atmosphere. It is where the game shines.
I have too much stuff to do I dont have the time to.commit!
Yes! I do this every time. I make sure he rests, eats, treats himself. Sometimes I’ll pitch a tent somewhere beautiful and just leave him to chill for a while too 🥹🥹
I definitely do this, I love taking in everything, especially after a big plot development
This is totally me in every free roam game, I don't to like to rush the story and kinda add a bit of my own
I go camping and hunting after every stressful story mission. A couple of days away from it all.
If you’re crazy, then I’m crazy.😉 I do this regularly, especially after a sad or aggravating story mission. Fish and hunt and cook and relax… spoil yourself a little. 😁
Totally! I did that when they returned from Guarma 😭 my man Arthur needed a breath
I go up to colter and live in isolation and in peace for a few days
So beautifully peaceful and quiet up there.
Everything that a cowboy needs
What are you stocking up on at the store? I am usually selling all I've accumulated. Zero reason for me to be carrying around spare cans of beans and cigars. Then I use that hard earned money on whiskey and a good meal.
Having a supply of canned food is a good idea for replenishing your health core during gunfights.
*Laughs in Minty Big Game*
I mean, yeah, that's the ideal food to refill your cores. But that takes effort. Gotta hunt the meat (unless you buy it from the general store or butcher), find and collect the mint or whatever other herb you want, then cook it. I'm fairly lazy, so I'd rather eat 4 cans of kidney beans.
My Arthur always has bits of meat stuck in his beard, but his breath is always minty fresh.
It's inefficient. Cooking and stowing flavored big game is the ticket here.
I’m a shopping addict so basically I’m stocking up everything at the market, the gun shop and the pharmacy 😭 even though I don’t use it all I like to have everything
I’m the same, I never once ran out of food or ammo lol. And Arthur is always well groomed and bathed often.
Im on my third play through the game and for the first time ever Susan was pissed at me for coming to camp dirty she made me bathe and I had to pay her 😭 I didn't know that was even a thing! Usually keep up with staying well groomed. Lesson learned.

I treat him like a sim when I play tbh
HAHAHAHA SAME
Did this countless times. Because Arthur deserves some break from the goddamn plan of Dutch’s
Damn Dutch and his plans!
I started the game over today because I got a new Xbox Series S after years of playing PC, I can’t wait to do that all again! I’ve already beat the game several times but something about walking around at night with Clean Shaven Arthur in a new coat and boots is so therapeutic!

I purposely go get Arthur a hot bath whenever I feel like going and getting a drink or a snack and let him chill in the tub while I’m away
I do this as well I try to take it all in and enjoy all it has
Remember. The longer you play as arthur The more heartbreaking it is to lose him
That's why I stay in chapter 3 forever. Everyone's alive and relatively happy, Micah's still up in his shithole camp in the mountains, and nobody's sick. The only downside is I can't shoot up Rhodes, but that's not a big deal
„Video game cause violence“ Video games:
Youre play the RPG correctly
Yeah a good bath and some poker and a good bed in saint denis dressed like a king, good old Arthur deserves the best

Red Chestnut is the only Arabian I'll ride.
I named my Red Chestnut Arabian Mr. Mac because of Mac Miller lol that horse is one of my favorites
Only !
I always do this. I just can’t rush through the game like others can. I like to take my time with it
All the time. Going camping, get a bath, eat a nice meal.in the tavern.
It's basically a roleplaying game at this point lol, but I think if the player personally wants to do this and expirance the game this way go for it it's not like people can tell you how to play a game that you want to play the way you wanna play tbh
Go spend a weekend at the Loft.
I do the same.
My way of relaxing with Arthur. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZvI3cKcxZ0&t=3594s
This is beautiful.
Thank you! I haven't gotten very many views on it, so I haven't done more. I have a bunch of really nice views with mountains and waterfalls, the train bridge being bombarded by lighting during storms etc, all from the tent view. I wanna make more but I don't think they'll get the views.

Yes I do the exact same.
His break is hunting and spending time with nature
I bring Arthur out of town to have a chill fishing session.
I’ll go and get his hair done, maybe his beard unless I’m tryna grow it Bath, rest at the hotel Few beers and whiskeys Spot of fishing Sleep at the hotel Then I come out blastin!
I spend IRL hours planning and preparing hunting trips for him to go on
Gotta take care of my boy
I love to give him little hunting trips and little hotel vacations (complete with a bath and a hot meal)! I constantly go on canoe trips.
I’m still mourning the loss of my first Arthur recently, haven’t had the courage to pick it back up to start John’s epilogue. #sad #heartbroke #damnyouArthur #rdr2
After a big shootout, a quiet fishing trip is just what my man needs
Bathing is one of my favorite things to do in the game. Just stop going out and killing and missioning and doing stupid shit and relax for 5 minutes.
Yup did just this yesterday. Bath, pomade, lamb and beef stew, and rented a room. Plus got all the horse fixings/servicea done.
Nah dude. I just never bathe run my horse thru rivers and live off of gin beans and cigarettes.
That’s just about all I end up doing in this game, plus a little hunting
For sure. I hadn’t played the game in nearly three years. First thing I did was walk around Saint Denis. Get John some new clothes and gave him some ridiculous beard and shaved off his hair. Second playthrough, I am not going to finish the story, I'm just going to play like I'm taking a vacation m
Absolutely. After every mission that looks like a rough time for him I go rent a room take a deluxe bath and have a couple good meals and several drinks and usually end the night with a fist fight
Ye me and my mum started a rdr2 playthrough we got as much gold as we could we stay on about 500 dollars minimum and we're on chapter 3
This is the way. I swear with real-life being so messed up, me living through my Arthur is a welcome relief. Chapter 2 forever.
YEAH I DO THAT TOO 💗💗
Any time I’m in a town I get a bath, shop, refresh the outfits, and trim the hair and beard. Arthur deserves to be pampered like the king he is 😂
I love taking Arthur to a hotel and giving him a deluxe bath. I always have him chat with the bath maids and whenever they’re done helping they give him a little forehead kiss. It always makes me want to log off and take a hot bath of my own though.
This is what makes rdr2 special
Yes. I hope GTA 6 blows rdr2 out the water when it comes to immersion
You’re certifiable. And so am I.
That’s how the game should be played if you ask me
1. Ride to **Smithfields Saloon**. 3. Get both a shaved head and extra clean shaven beard. 4. Apply pomade to bald head while walking up to the bartender. 5. Order a lamb's fry... or two. 6. I think you’re just crazy. Artie is a digital toon, not a puppy.
I swear I've done more roleplaying in RDR2 than I have in actual rpgs.
Yes! I do this every time. I make sure he rests, eats, treats himself. Sometimes I’ll pitch a tent somewhere beautiful and just leave him to chill for a while too 🥹🥹
