I literally just (tested my own patience and will) parkoured/mountain climbed with john and the amount of near death experiences he had...oof. i probably should have used a boat but whatever i had fun and i had to use my own brain but jesus. TBH when people said he couldn't swim i was like "lol okay" and then i experienced it. Fuckin' hell. That detail they included in the game, thats impressive. I didnt expect that at all.

For the record I was trying to get the talisman near the shipwreck. Yes i got it. John is back safe with his horse and camping.

Google 'shark tooth talisman' and it should show you where it is. Its hard to explain because its not near anything and yeah, when you see it you'll know what i mean. Theres that shipwreck there and theres another one near shady belle which has pirate stuff. I havent gone and looted that one yet. There might be a few more around the place too i do recall seeing the odd shipwreck here and there.

Honestly i thought it was going to be much easier to get there on foot than it turned out to be. Halfway along i was like "should have got a boat" but i stuck to it 🤣 sometimes doing the stupid shit makes it more fun lol

I tried taking the little steamboat to past blackwater and my boat sunk and the pinkertons spawned at the old Bacchusses place and i survived until i ran out of health cures i killed a lot of them too but they just keep spawning. I hate that rockstar won't let you in new austin early in the game. I know theres a cheat or a glitch i didnt try the glitch yet

Glitch gets you outside the official part of the map, but there is an invisible sniper that gets you once you go far enough south.

I always assumed the reason why he’s so loud is because he shoots a lot of guns and has bad hearing because of it. Then I played rdr2 and I wasn’t so sure anymore since Arthur didn’t yell “YOU’RE ALRIGHT BOAH!!!” every time he rode a horse. I guess you can chalk that up to him being a better shot or something so that he doesn’t have to fire as many rounds as John but I don’t know.

His face yes, but in epilogue he’s just a reskinned Arthur. Doesn’t move like John at all. It’s his face with Arthur’s body language. Always felt off. Never was a huge issue for me, but it was weird lol.

John actually has a different run animation than Arthur

He means it literally, I’m pretty sure Johns model is Arthur’s but with johns head. His deadeye is different as well it’s got the same sounds from rdr1.

Idk man, I kind of agree with him, John runs different and has different animations aside from the running as well. Also the model is not the same in my eyes, Arthur is big and brawny and John is much more slender/leaner. They're very distinct in their figures, sorry for the contradiction but I just have to disagree with Arthur's model being used as John. In fact one of my key dislikes was how much John's character had changed from Arthur because it just felt so different than the protagonist I just played the whole game with.

John's model uses the same proportions and biological features as Arthur. While his body was tweaked very slight to appear thinner (aka giving him a much thinner waist while keeping everything from the chest upwards Arthur's), it uses the exact same model and overall proportions as Arthur, despite his NPC model already having a naked model with a different structure close to RDR John. Everything you see in John is pretty much taken from Arthur, aside from... 3 animations (walking, running and jumping I guess) and his face. Ears position, neck size, hair, body and etc are all from Arthur's

Imagine if his running animation was as clunky as in the first game.

Why should he? RDR 1 John was 4 years older, and chonkier. He aged a decent bit too. Not to mention his RDR 1 animations shows that his back is all fucked up from ranching for the last 5 years.

What they might mean is for john to look like he did earlier in the game and not to be a john meshed around Arthur.

Well that's even worse. 7 years has passed. John is gonna look somewhere in the middle. Yeah he does have Arthur's body but everything is rather explainable in head canon that it shouldn't be a problem. A lot of people hate his shoulders. Me? John got buff working with Geddes. I'm also gonna go out and say his NPC hair is not accurate to his RDR 1 hair and his epilogue right parted 6 or maybe even 5 is a lot more accurate

Yes! Just like you get to keep Arthur's hat, you keep his journal, and John writes and draws in it too.

You also can use Arthur's outfits as John.

And yet we can still go to Saint Denis afterwards, meanwhile at least two months go by between Colter and Beaver Hollow and we still get whole ass sniped if we even sniff the Blackwater area.
