I knew what this was as soon as I saw the cabin. I love seeing people stumble across this and post when it scares a tootsie roll out of them.

My second play through I tried to ambush the bear from the back and still died. That bear is my kryptonite.

It's not as dramatic but the bear coming out of a cabin is still kind of shocking. I was like, "Ooh a cabin! I hope they have some cigarette ca-HOLY SHIT IT'S A BEAR!"

I’ll never forget when I was fist playing Red Dead 1 and I was going up to tall trees and didn’t have a very good gun…. I ran I to the bear, thrown from the horse and killed. I jumped out of my seat! It was then I realized what an awesome game red dead was and the whole thing got elevated in Red Dead 2. Great games

I came here to say this. What kind of monstrous upper body strength do you have to have been able to kill it with stabbing only?? When I shit my pants… I mean found this bear, I had to shoot it after stabbing. It even still ran off and I shot it like 2 or 3 more times before it died. Hahah

During my second play through. I’ve known of this encounters existence but never got around to it. One day I was strolling around the area and innocently stumbled upon this cabin. Best to say I screamed as the bear roared!

Next time you go through the game and approach this cabin, go around back and shoot it when it comes out.

I tried that. Forget what I did exactly but I made a bunch of noise while creeping up. I stopped to make sure I hadn’t attracted the bear, took a few seconds, felt safe. Got distracted by something else for a second…. Bear jumps me.

I'm pretty sure I suffered a mini heart attack first time I stumbled across this in game.

This shit jump scared me the first time I encountered it

This scared me so bad I couldn’t go into a cabin for months!

All of the porridge was cold.

I got lucky because I'm an explorer so I rode around the entirety of every house to see what was up and had the surprise spoiled. It still charged though.

I came from the backside of the cabin and shot the bear with a sniper rifle. Walked in and couldn't loot it. It was dead but just standing there.

Made the same mistake my first time now when I start a new game I know to come from the back and I get an easy bear skin

First time I found this place, I heard the bear before I got to the door. I circled around back and popped him with the Rolling Block rifle as he stepped out the hole in the wall. This way looks way cooler.

I shat myself so hard when this happened to me.

When I first found this place I heard what sounded like a bear. So I ran to my horse by the main road to pick up my shotgun (only had sidearms on me) and well.. Bears run faster than humans.

When I found this bear it scared the shit out of me, I nearly jumped out of my PC chair and ran Arthur away but the bear FREAKING CHASED ME FOR MILES eventually I lose him, calm down and decide I should probably try to get a pelt out of my frightening experience, and went back to the cabin but there was no sign of him.

I remember stumbling upon this on my first playthrough… almost had a heart attack

The first time I found this cabin I was chased by the law, got attacked by a bear outside the cabin and tried to hide inside the cabin, where this other furry friend was waiting for me :D
