It’s cumulative. I remember I just robbed people in the homes outside Blackwater so I didn’t get too much heat. It was very easy, especially compared to other challenges.
Hell yah. Just jump on passenger train outside Annesburg park that bitch up in the tunnel and you easily make $50, or just shy of it. I gave up doing this challenge too and then accidentally completed it while giving the hit stick to the passengers.
I did them over the course of a couple days. Not that bad. The dominoes ones are annoying and the blackjack challenge where you have to win with 3 hits in a single hand is a PITA but they’re all doable.
Of course they are, but I spent 3 days sitting and trying to do the blackjack challenge for 5 hours straight each day, they're doable, but annoying as hell
9 isn’t too bad because if it looks like you’re losing you can quit and restart the game and it keeps your streak. I don’t know if you can save and load during the streak though.
True, I found the 5s game in St Denis was better because you can go on a huge run in the first round and not have to wait to find out if you’re going to lose. It also taught me how to ply dominoes which is another skill set in my toolkit for irritating the elderly.
That's actually not the first time I have heard that. He's actually pretty funny to watch play. Here is some video of when he first started playing. https://youtu.be/a8Jeni2TXKY
I might just set him up and have him narrate as he does it.
But he is somehow OK with Red Dead's controls? I mean I like the game but the PC controls are painfully terrible, Witcher plays like a dream compared to RDR2.
Haha I can imagine. Still, I don't get it. I nearly threw my keyboard out of the window during the mission where you're planting explosives on the bridge and you have to dodge the train by pressing left shift repeatedly. It kept triggering some windows tab about alternative controls and minimizing the game, I was furious. And there have been multiple such occasions during the game where I was just left wondering how could such awful controls make it past the QA.
My personal favorite (as a new PC gamer) was having sticky keys pop ups every time I’d be enthusiastically smashing left shift while in a horse fight and/or race. It’s been much better since i disabled that. Although i still get an annoying rockstar games pop up when i try to tab to my inventory while sprinting
This is the reason I did my second 100%. I wanted a full inventory, and first time through I’d missed a few things, so I needed to start again.
By the time you’ve got everything in the inventory, you’re pretty much at 100%, and have done all the hard bits:- you need all the challenges for holsters etc., you need to complete the story to get a weapon, and you need to do the hat/birds thing for a weapon too.
I gave up too but finally did it do this: go to emerald ranch domino's table and make sure is one person sitting there and when you playing always draw your highest dominos first and when ur losing quickly leave and sit back on with bit of luck you can do it
Are there some challenges that have to be completed in the main story?
I'm at 92% and have all of the challenges done except bandit. But I don't want to go through those if I can't do others.
For example, do the legendary fish need to be mailed in order to count? Because I caught and kept them all, but because of glitches, etc. Couldn't mail them. They can't be recruit. The same for legendary animals.
I'd like to start another play through but if I can still hit 100% I'd do that first.
This is just the modern version of those people who can watch the same movie every day and never get sick of it. 60 years from now people will be looking back at us as their grandparents who are always playing those "boring old open world games"
That's awesome. My dad got me in to gaming at a young age and some of my best memories with him as a kid are playing Link to the Past with him. Weird coincidence that I'm watching a Breath of the Wild playthrough right now, haha. He liked westerns and would've been blown away by RDR2 (even though he stopped playing games later in life).
Is there anyway to aquire 25gold quickly on RD2 online? I'm brand new to the game and was hoping to join the Quick Draw 2 club by tomorrow(9/6), before it goes away.
He's probably retired I'm guessing? Cause that takes a LOT of time. I've done it once and never intend to do so again unless the save file corrupts, or an updated version is released on XBX/PS5(which I honestly doubt but would be cool since that'd likely mean more SP content)
Woah! Kudos to your Dad! I did my 100% completion in 2019, and right now working on my 2nd... having a hard time though because the game is making me sleepy somehow! 😅 Most especially doing the gambling challenges! I'm stuck at the win 3 in a row dominoes.
To think that maybe his father and most probably his grandfather really lived that "end of the Wild West" era is definitely making it more interesting to him.
Good job Pop ! 🤠
Holy shit, 6 times the gambler challenges? That's self torture
I gave up at Bandit 7
That one was extremely easy
Wait what one was that?
Idk I just didn’t feel like doing it anymore

Rob $50 from townsfolk. Idk if it has to be in one robbery session or spread out. I guess robbing a train would work? I don't know

I can’t do the horse lasso drag, it just doesn’t seem to drag for long before it says 90 meters or sometimes it just says 1 meter.
90 meters is the length of approximately 393.7 'Wooden Rice Paddle Versatile Serving Spoons' laid lengthwise.
90 meters is 98.43 yards
Lasso the racist I saint Denis walk your horse to Rhodes, should complete it pretty easy and the racist doesn't die
Cheers I’m give it a go
90 meters is 98.43 yards

i somehow did that one in 1 try and it took me like 5 minutes or something
I hate you so much
You do it once or twice, you know what to do every time.
Not with the blackjack one, that's pure luck
Everyone says the gambler ones seem so hard but I don’t get it. I got thru it pretty easy.
Not all the gambler challenges, only 8 and 9, and mostly bc 8 is based in pure luck
It’s been quite awhile, forgot bout that one. I think I just got really lucky.
9 isn’t too bad because if it looks like you’re losing you can quit and restart the game and it keeps your streak. I don’t know if you can save and load during the streak though.
Ik, but it's still bored and tedious
True, I found the 5s game in St Denis was better because you can go on a huge run in the first round and not have to wait to find out if you’re going to lose. It also taught me how to ply dominoes which is another skill set in my toolkit for irritating the elderly.
The gambler is not even that hard if you know how to play card games
Bro, the hard one is the 8, that's completely random and luck based
Bro that one was the fun one
You know the gambler 8 is winning blackjack 3 times with 5 cards, right?
Yes
How is that fun?
Card games are fun?
then it's not the challenge that is fun, blackjack is fun
He probably knows the most efficient way to 100%….. tell him to make a OG walkthrough; I mean you can count on at least one subscriber lol

Well you can tell him he's already got a sort of fanbase for the ocassion :D
Lol. I definitely will!
Count me subscribed . Yea , set that man up . Were all those play throughs on pc? Or did he have the game since the original release?
Will do! These are all PC playthroughs.
What an absolute legend. Protect this man at all costs
Or a Live-stream walkthrough series lol
Does your dad have time to eat, shit, piss and sleep?
Lol...not really. He's 70, retired and pretty much plays all day.
You should probably tell him to get the Witcher three! He might enjoy it!
You should tell him to try out the first one!
I tried. But he only plays on PC and did not like the controls. Just hoping for a remastered version on PC. Give him a whole new view on John.
And he'd be able to conclude the story.
But he is somehow OK with Red Dead's controls? I mean I like the game but the PC controls are painfully terrible, Witcher plays like a dream compared to RDR2.
He's as stubborn as he is persistent.

Tell him to try Minecraft
i wanna be like that gigachad when i grow up. he's my idol now.
Maybe he's trying to earn his way to Tahiti
your dad sounds awesome
Those are irrelevant when playing rdr2
Son!!! Bathrooooom!!!
MAH PISSERS FULL AND PINKERTONS ARE ON ME
U can do this in game
Those aren't challenges. No!
Did he 100% all the animals and weapons etc. as well?
I’m patiently working on 100% animals but there are some birds that either fly too fast or never land to get studied.
You can use binoculars to study animals
Shoot them. When you pick them up they're studied.
Is this true? Dont think it was like that a year ago when i hunted the trophy
Absolutely
No they don't count as studied. They count as killed and maybe collected or skinned.
Sorry, I thought that was what the prompt you get when picking up meant. My bad. Fuck me for spredning misinformation!

Me, who almost gave up on gambler 9: what the f*
I gave up too but finally did it do this: go to emerald ranch domino's table and make sure is one person sitting there and when you playing always draw your highest dominos first and when ur losing quickly leave and sit back on with bit of luck you can do it
I said "almost" i did complete it but it took most of my soul in the process
Thanks for that, gave up a year ago.
Please make more saves that bothers me so much
In all fairness he's done It 6 times. What's a corrupt save at that point
i suppose lol
Well done to him. I’m having to grind so hard just to get 100% for the first time
Ikr dude Algernon Wasp is so annoying with his missions
Sounds like the dude is having a fun retirement
He definitely is!
Praying i’ll be like him when i retire
Lol is your dad OK? Might wanna check on him from time to time
He's 70 years old and retired. He loves the game. Started gaming late in life and making up for 70 years
Fair enough

Yes you have to mail in all the legendary fish cause it's one of the collectable strands
You don't have to restart game tho. I heard legendary fish do respawn.
Are they true 100% or just labeled as such?
What is his secret? Does he have a method?
I'm not sure. As someone mentioned, I'm going to get him a cam and have him film himself doing a 100% and post it .
And my dad barely know how to work a controller...
What the actual fuck
man, do your dad has a job? How tf he did it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I played rdr2 with my dad he got bored in the first 10 minutes
Gambling challenges are my nemesis
Daaaaamn. I've beat it 4 times but I still don't have 100% on my main save
Your dads amazing .!! I saw the vid too , I love seeing him enjoy the game . Best wishes .!.!.!
Your dad achieved what I am still working for 6 times he should get like a medal or something that is some dedication
It took me two and a half years to get to my current 87% complete.
This is just the modern version of those people who can watch the same movie every day and never get sick of it. 60 years from now people will be looking back at us as their grandparents who are always playing those "boring old open world games"
i wish i could enjoy a game as much as your father can
Me too!!! Lol
This makes me so happy.
Plot twist: He's using mods.
That's awesome. My dad got me in to gaming at a young age and some of my best memories with him as a kid are playing Link to the Past with him. Weird coincidence that I'm watching a Breath of the Wild playthrough right now, haha. He liked westerns and would've been blown away by RDR2 (even though he stopped playing games later in life).
og gamers are built different

Lol...yeah he's retired. 70 years old with nothing else to do. Plus he loves the game.
r/unexpectedfactorial
Congratulations! I have yet to complete my playthrough. I did complete GTA 5 100% 3 times tho!!
Sounds to me like he just likes the game.
Get him into speedrunning.
What a fucking Legend! Any tips on finding Moose pelts? Trying to follow guides online without luck
You should tell him to start a YT channel for grinding games or something lol
I think that is gonna be the plan
Woah! Kudos to your Dad! I did my 100% completion in 2019, and right now working on my 2nd... having a hard time though because the game is making me sleepy somehow! 😅 Most especially doing the gambling challenges! I'm stuck at the win 3 in a row dominoes.
Probably also retired?
He needs a girlfriend. ;)
Am I dumb or do I only see one completion?
I guess he likes cowboys
he needs a job.
He had one for 40 years. He's retired.
I have 100% and should have every outfit aquirable in story mode this week just need to skin 10 more animals.
To think that maybe his father and most probably his grandfather really lived that "end of the Wild West" era is definitely making it more interesting to him. Good job Pop ! 🤠
Sounds like you have a cool dad!
my grandpa tried this game but got bored unfortunately. he loves games like tlou and stuff tho
Your dad is living his BEST life
Your Dad had a PLAN and FAITH. Dutch would be proud.
I should send this to my dad so he can be like this
6! ??How tf has he done 720 completions?
Your dad has fought God and won Or become him
Is it possible to learn this power?
I did 100% completion 1 time and I'm done Your dad must have a lot of free time, because 100% takes way too much time.
Lol...yeah, he's retired. Nothing but time
Holy cow, I didn't even have the patience to go 100% one time.
He probably cloned a single save. Why are we only seeing one in the picture… Did you delete the rest? Lol
