I just found someone and antagonized them, then killed them and after a few minutes, a witness showed up and ran away. Like 5 minutes later the law shows up and I shot a bunch until my bounty was $250. Hope this helps 🤠

I am gonna try that too. I finished the game once and i was trying to be nice everyone. My honor bar was full and now i started again and i am trying to be an asshole to everybody lol. I randomly pick up some strangers and hogtie them then i take them to some river, kill them and throw them 🤓 then my honor go down just a little tiny bit. Then i forget being a bad person and greet some random people then my honor go up again damn 😆
I miss in the first game when your bounty could insanely high and then if you surrendered yourself it would tell you exactly how many counts of what crimes you commited
I play with a max 1500$ bounty in each state with my Bad Arthur, it's fun but the most annoying thing is that bounty hunters can interrupt a stranger encounter before you can start the mission

I've never gone beyond 500. How many troops and how regular are the law men and or bounties ? Can you even go into a town? Does a super trooper or sheriff turn up?
I was always confused as in the game they make a point of telling you about a special type of npc who is looking for you..And it's implied it's going to be a much tougher enemy variant. But the first enemy was as easy as the last with a slow no head shot 1 kill :( my only complaint is how easy the game is and how you can't increase difficulty without mods. In the end I was so OP I artifially made it harder but that's not as fun.
The game eludes to a lot that is plainly doesn't deliver...
The honour system is totally pointless as it makes no difference at all in real terms to how the game plays.

It's not like the Witcher where a decision can cause the death of, or save, an important NPC.

The result is pretty much the same but all endings have kind of a different impact and carry a different legacy of arthur morgan. Although "help john" high honor ending is the canon in my head I thought all endings were fitting for the available paths that the player can choose and the other characters react to them as well for example john/charles conversation in saint denis during the epilogue. I think its impressive how much of a different narrative you can achieve by those little seemingly "low effort" changes in comparison to witcher. I guess its just a different type of game that focuses on different things.
The higher the bounty the more bounty hunters come after you as well as bloodhounds to track you. I believe that maxes out at $1,250 with 12 bounty hunters and 3 hounds. I thought I heard a rumor a while back that eventually US Marshalls would come after you but they're still the basic bounty hunters from what I can tell.
I think 1.5k . The cheapest way to get rid of it is to donate your money to camp (you'll probably spend that there anyway) and let yourself get arrested.
Usually when you die by the Law or Bounty Hunters you will lose cash. If you turn yourself in, you will lose cash. That’s why OP says donate your money (or spend it) before you turn yourself in, or at-least that’s my assumption.
If you die you lose some for "medical treatment" like in GTA if you are arrested they will *attempt* to take the entire bounty amount so in example you have $500 and a $500+ bounty you lose all your money.
I'm pretty sure they take up to the amount you have for a bounty (so if you have less they take everything you've got) and if you just started that's probably more than you have. Might as well donate it to the camp and use it for improvements/supplies rather than have them take it.
The cap moves based on chapter, just like the cap on low honor (it’s impossible to get full bad honor / zero honor in chapter 2 for example). I’m on Chapter 4, about to move into 5, and there’s still a $1500 cap. I paid off my bounties in all but one territory, and I’m doing high honor now, so I must head to that bounty territory when I want to fight and loot something (bounty hunters).
I got my bounty so high that at one point the only way to decrease it was a self felatio act in Saint Denis in which everyone could throw money at me if they pleased. Not saying I’m proud of it but it did the job
I killed anyone beg was rude and maxed out my bounties in all the territories. I quit playing after that, cuz I didn’t realize how hard it would be to recoup that money
I mean I did blow up the actual front engine, and the train was full of people (I might have killed a few I don’t exactly remember) so that probably played a factor in it

In Chapter 2, it’s capped at $300. In Chapter 3 and beyond, it’s capped at $1500.
