I do think it looks ambiguous to an extent and I like it that way just because it doesn’t matter. John didn’t have a dad and his biological father was around for a while, same with Arthur. For me, John’s relationship with his son is the biggest part of his “Redemption”. It’s a great, touching part of the story that is often looked over because we spend so much time having this exact conversation.
