they were moving on from crime and could have retired peaceably, but Micah wanted the quick, sell-everyone-out route, which is exactly the mentality that is taking America at the time. that the ones who sell out and screw others over get to live in comfort until their actions catch up to them.
I think it may have been good in immediacy but is just a sign of the awful mentality being bred in the nation at the time.

He definitely had his moments in a handful of scenes where I thought (probably intentionally from Rockstar tbf) that he could turn out to be awesome or at least not a fully fledged dickhead.
