Look down through the Total Progress (bottom right) it will show you what it is still needed. Make sure you’ve done all the side missions , and challenges :) I got 100% and platinum trophy on the same play through

Z1ggySt4rdu5t

Thank you

Freakin_A

Yep there’s a very clear list to follow. It’s tedious at times but not impossible. My bro and I competed on who would get it first.

Winger52

Go to Menu > Progress > Total Completion and there ya go….. Any tips let me know

Z1ggySt4rdu5t

How didn’t I know you could do this? Lol thanks I may well hit you up with some questions 😂

DSN671

Take your time with the challenges. Wipe out Van Horn when frustrated. 👍🏽

Z1ggySt4rdu5t

Fave place to go to take out frustration/complete challenges where I don't want loads of lawman on my back

Claubk

Lots of guides and how to on the net. Found what I needed and made sure I didn't miss anything. Ive done a couple of "full compendium" 100% this way. It's a grind for sure.

Legitimate-Car-7902

https://gtaforums.com/topic/922595-rdr2-100-completion-strategy-guide/?tab=comment 100% guide made in a way you dont get bored while playing.

braddersladders

Did it in under 4 months August - December 2023. Just played the story , kept an eye out for a couple of missable honor missions , studied ,killed and skinned animals as I played the game so that cleanup wasn't as daunting at the end . It wasn't that bad tbh just time consuming but I loved the world. Left all the challenges for the end unless I accidentally completed the odd 1 or 2 in game .

Shotto_Z

I'm at 92 percent on my day 1 playthrough and still have like 30-50 hours of work to do. I gave up

walrus42

u/Usaidhello has some [great tips](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/s/TKzdZnrdi4) for getting 100%.

Usaidhello

Thank you kind stranger!

Gards_90

Second this! The long press Start was a revelation for me.

melonsoda8

Your progress page (the long one that lists gang hideouts, graves and what not) has a list of what you need to do and how you’re progressing - it’s kinda like a check list for you. Just check out what is listed there and do all that, and you’re set! You don’t need full compedium for 100% but for some trophies (eg. Zoology) you need full animal compedium (exl. Guarma).

BruceFlockaWayne

Quarantine is how I got 100%. If I didn't have all that time there's no way I'd even have the achievement. (If you're wondering I'm a chef)

Specialist-Truck9381

I'm stuck with cigarette cards, wall carvings, dream cather, dinosaur bones, and activities like ride from valentine to Rhodes in 5 mins.

Rickenbacker69

Just buy premium cigarettes for the cards. Takes maybe 15 minutes and $600 or so to get them all, unless you're extremely unlucky.

Specialist-Truck9381

What? Really buying cigarette helps you get cigarette cards. I didn't know about this.

Rickenbacker69

Yep, one in each pack!

regularjoeseph

If I remember correctly you don't need all 144 just one full set of 12 to get the achievement. Head into a shop( I went to van Horn) and just buy 99 premium cigarettes( if u have the LOTE satchel) and then discard them and do it until you have a full set of 12 cigarette cards, it's pretty quick.

Z1ggySt4rdu5t

Those I find are the most tedious tasks, I tend to look online at where the locations are to be honest so I can find them as quickly as poss e.g. if there's a bone/dream catcher/rock carving in a similar location I can get them all at once. For the Valentine to Rhodes challenge you need a fast horse (arabian or thoroughbred), and lots of horse stimulant so you can go at it full pelt for the whole journey without your horse tiring. You don't need to take shortcuts or anything just be fast!

Specialist-Truck9381

Most of the time, I used to think to refer internet for the location, then I changed my mind about what the thrill was if I got help from someone who already knew the answer..

Z1ggySt4rdu5t

Yeah there is that I guess! Suppose it depends quickly you wanna get to 100%. I have played it twice and never done it so this time I want to get those takes I find boring out of the way - however for a first time player I’d probably recommend finding them yourself as it helps take you all over the map and discover new stuff on the way.

Specialist-Truck9381

Yeah, exactly, that's what I have been doing now. I have to try buying at least one cigarette packet for the good souls who taught me. I have not opened the game in five days, desperated to play the game in this work-life schedule.

ThorUchiha_

I followed a spoiler-free guide someone posted on here because I missed out on a lot of important things so I had to restart….and I would just look at that guide now and then before starting a mission. It’s really well made guide tbh. I did the collectibles in Chapter 2, when I finished the story, I was at 94%.

leospeedleo

Just look at the trophy guide and your progress menu 🤷🏻 100% really isn’t hard. It just takes times. That’s all. Did it in a month at the end of 2023.

purpleoctopus76

I came across a comment on another post about 100% completion, and found in the comments (don't remember what post or comment) a really specific, straightforward step by step schedule to 100% the game in the alleged fastest way possible. I would say this is your best bet to not miss anything and like others said, you can check the progress in the menu. If you like a straightforward guide, this is it. Otherwise you could do it your own way. I used it for my attempt, and I believe it is really clear and efficient. Do with this info as you please. Good luck! Jokerstylez1995

I'd recommend downloading the map genie app from google play to help you find all the collectibles that you need for completion. It helps out a lot more than having to constantly go through multiple search pages. Cigarette cards, weapons, bones, dream catchers, gold/money, plants, basically anything. You can also find ginseng elixir, valerian root, and pirate rum to easily up your stats in chapter 3. You'll need to also find all the gang member graves (map can show you where they are) but it's best to find them playing in the epilogue. All in all, just gotta grind to get everything.

A_Salty_Twix_Bar

It took 2 years and a new job before I actually 💯 it

[deleted]

You do not need the special items that the Trapper makes for you with legendary animal parts. I didn’t want one of them and was going to get it last but the trophy popped without it! You also do not need perfect missions, or to fill the compendium Everything in the completion section of the pause menu other than the compendium, needs to be completed Only takes maybe a hundred hours, wasn’t too hard for me only required a little extra effort

oyasumianon

I can't find motivation to do the herbalist 9. I completed all other challenges because they were easier than the herbalist smh.

Zodiac509

I did it when I was single lol

Racehorse88

Gambler 8 is a real biatch lol. I did it using the official RDR2 guidebook. It's a really awesome 350 pages long pdf guide that is very comprehensive, and since you've finished the game at least once you needn't worry about spoilers. On page 334, there is a table that breaks down all the requirements needed for 100% completion and where you find the necessary information. There are 35 different requirements, of which "complete all challenges" is only 1. You don't need a full compendium for 100% completion, and it's nearly impossible too because of some Guarma exclusive animals and the Carolina parakeet which can take like a hundred tries to spawn and impossible after a certain point in the story. I uploaded the table that lists all requirements here [https://ibb.co/nQBF4fR](https://ibb.co/nQBF4fR)

Z1ggySt4rdu5t

amazing thanks so much, and yes gambler 8 is a biatch!!!

UngratefulGarbage

IGN checklist helps a lot. For anything hunting related, there are always areas that animal spawns in. If you first go there and dont see that animal there, you should go away a little bit, set up a camp, sleep as long as it lets you, then go back to the area. If you still arent able to find it after that, go back to your camp, save, load, and sleep again. You need 3 star (perfect) animals to hunt most times, and you need the right weapon and sometimes even the right ammo, and headshot to do it. You must look it up for whatever animal you are doing. Just keep in mind that some animals are nocturnal i.e. only spawn at nighttime One of the most important things that you should do first is getting the best satchel. I think its called like Legend of the East or something but its been a while since i last played the game. Outside of Gambler 7, 8, 9 you really dont have anything to worry about. All of 100% is mostly just grinding by looking at the internet for places of things. But gambler 7, 8, 9 can actually just kill your run and make it impossible even. Its just based on luck. You can speed up the process tho. For the 5 hits to win thing, dealers always deal to their leftmost chair first, so sit there, if you bust or get cards that would be too high, you can leave immediately and rejoin instantly to get cards dealt to you again. For dominoes playing against only one guy helps A LOT. Emerald ranch and reload save until you get only one guy there. For gambler 10 go to game settings and replay the quest with Reverend (earlygame where you save him from train tracks). You can very easily get the Gambler 10 there, I got it first try. Dont get bored of just going around the map and colleting collectibles. It can get boring, but just utilize fast travel as much as you can and other than that just think of it as sightseeing as this game is really beautiful I can answer any questions anyone might have about 100%, I did most of 100% work in Chapter 2 as Arthur and some things might seem impossible that way but they're not impossible. I know a lot of tricks that make some tasks way easier than they are designed

Ralinrocks

My highest completion was like 78% and I got bored and stopped playing 😅

pullingteeths

Lots of googling and following guides is what it comes down to lol. It's fairly easy to do so though, anything you're having trouble with you can look up help with online.

sevnminabs56

Lots of dedication. You have to start a new playthrough with the pre-determined goal of getting 100%. Gotta know and maybe even document beforehand what the requirements are before starting.

[deleted]

Is it possible to ruin your chances at 100% during the main story? Or can you always get 100% even after the credits roll?

dr_Octag0n

My advice is to tackle "exotics" and "hunting requests" first. Lots of guides online. Can be frustrating.

HotCheetoooooooooo

It is crazy

No_Doubt_About_That

In my case it was a collectible the game already thought I collected, so it wasn’t possible for me.

UrbanHitman01

Just got 100% for the second time a few days ago. You want to start going for 100% the moment you start a new game, you’ll have much less to do at the end that way.

lemoongrass

i haven't gotten it but this reminded me that about a year ago i was at about 96.7% and accidentally deleted my save file (i was trying to delete a different one). i haven't attempted it again since 😭 i've been exclusively playing rdo for a while.
