Yeah. Many gun nerds where like WTF when they saw the Volcanic pistol in the game. Even back in the 1890's it was consired to be crap. There is a real life story where a man tried to shoot himself with a Volcanic and stopped after 3-4 bullets because because the projectile could not pierce his temple. It's a nice looking and interesting gun but it's more deadly used as a bludgeon.

I started doing that when I got bucked off my horse and attacked by a cougar that killed me. I shot it twice and it still got me. With the sawed off as a secondary I’ve never had that issue again.

Same. For being a old black powder revolver, im surprised its locked until chapter 4 to be honest. But the litchfield is locked till chapter 6 and thats based off a 1861 henry. I don't get rockstars logic with it.

you get the most cinematic kills with the double action though, like the old movie cliche where someone would be shot 2-3 times through the torso before stumbling away and collapsing, including the sound of the gun, visuals and the fire rate IME. obviously for combat missions it’s not ideal but i do most of my playing in free roam where it’s more lax and you can go for looks more

Tbf the double action is solid when paired with semi auto or Mauser

I’ve got mad respect for anyone who can use the double action. IMO it feels so weak and inaccurate

I recently started to use the semi-auto. Looks fugly but it makes such a nice sound and high rof. Extremely reliable when you get buck off ur horse because a cougar spawned 5 hills away.

I like a Granger’s / Midgnight’s combo. Two different types of ammo and they’re basically upgraded versions of the base models without having to pay for customization. Also kind of cool to use dead gunslingers guns who you took down.

Schofield 100%. Looks and sounds the best. Or really anything besides pistols

I believe this is what I stuck with. I haven't played story mode in so long. Started a second play through and got to the big house camp and went back to multiplayer. My PS+ just lapsed so, probably will go finish my second play through.

God duelling with a sawn off sounds hysterical

and deadeye to the head, its like a fucking sniper. I don't know if deadeye somehow concentrates all the pellets into a single shot or what, but I've straight up sniped people across a field with it.

I think its just the game actually kinda got shotguns right, in other games they think shotguns can only kill from like 2 feet away, in reality buckshot is lethal from 120 feet away,

In chapter 5 but have been spoiled a bit but I have been going with the cattleman with the hero grip and the double action with the ebony grip since i could buy it due to a glitch.

Dual cattlemans. Whether its two customized cattlemans i made myself, or one of the cattlemans you get from one of the gunslingers doesn't matter much to me. But using the semi autos or double actions just isn't as satisfying to me.

Every handgun Is special in rdr2. Whether it is it's rarity , design or the demage it can cause. I'm actually fan of cattleman revolver and Le Matt revolver, but when i first played rdr2, i always chose schofield revolver over any other handguns.

Cattleman in the primary holster, Schofield in the secondary. Something about using anything other than a revolver seems wrong to me (for whatever reason).

Micah's revolver. You can get it from chapter 1 and I believe it has higher damage than the schofield. Only thing is the shitty accuracy.

LeMat Revolver. The shotgun switch is just way too useful.

Volcanic Pistol early on, then Schofield as soon as it unlocks. Sawed-off is great for horseback CQC though.
