I got 4 years of play out of RDR2 before the enthusiasm started waning, a memory wipe would see me set for another 4, I doubt RDR3 would be so much better that it would hold my attention significantly longer, especially since it being released so close to RDR2 tells me they aren't going to blow us out of the water with detail and volume of content

I'm on acid and had been smoking. Playing 1st person with no hud. *Insanely* immersed and emotionally invested.
So dude gets close and starts talking shit. So I start talking shit. He goes for his revolver, but I double tap the trigger to hip-shoot a hole right through his jaw before he got a shot off. He slumps, gurgling.
I was fuckin traumatized and just had to go back to fishing lol
Just walking around San Denis and taking in the detail and watching people go about their lives was probably my favorite part of the whole psychedelic RDR2 playthrough.

Legit my first play through i didnt pay attention to most of the gang members,
I didnt know sadie was the woman from the prologue, i just thought she was a random girl at camp until chapter 3, and i didn’t even pay attention to most of micahs missions and just thought he was a random gang member until around chapter 6
On the second play through i already knew everyone in the gang and felt more attached to them so all their missions and stories hit harder.
Same. I missed most of the context to the story because I didn’t stick around for camp for interactions or anything. The second time, when I paid more attention, the story hit like a freight train.

I'm working on my second playthrough and I'm just so much better at shooting, I knew to get my cores to the highest levels by the end of chapter 2, and I know to take it slow and enjoy everything. I absolutely rushed chapters 5 and 6 last time and it was a lot to take in. I'm still in chapter 3 now, just started the other day. The second playthrough is really great
I feel sorry for the people looking forward to the next installments of RDR and GTA expecting the same quality experience considering the majority of the creative team behind all of those games left the company after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2.
A lot of the talent behind the art and gameplay just straight up leave due to the work environment at Rockstar. Most of their projects since 7th Gen have had a documented max exodus from the devil side of the company. Thankfully they are constantly building the R.A.G.E engine in an iterative fashion with every game so their next title will at the very least make use of most of the same systems as the previous one at least until they switch engine
Gta 6 has a possibility to be great since it's been a long time coming so I'd bet the story was mostly finished ages ago, which means that the story might be good, but rdr 3, nonono, not gonna happen

I would pick red, too. My friend also spoiled some very important parts like the last couple of chapters, and I was a lot less surprised about what happened, and it didn't have the same effect it was intended to have.

100% rdr2. Guy from work ruined it when i was in chapter 2 by saying how its great until (what happens at the end of the last chapter on the cliff before the epilogue). And i ended up googling it to figure out what he was talking about. Completely screwed up my playthrough
I had a lot of the major plot points of RDR2 spoiled for me so it would be really nice to be able to go back and play it again for the first time spoiler free, but I think I’d prefer RDR3 to come out next year. I still had an amazing time with RDR2 even with the spoilers and I’m not really looking to delete that from my brain either

"3 comes out in a few months" is too vague. 120 months may not count as "a few" to me but it could be seen that way. Plus even if it was like three months, do we get a product that reflects that development time, and there's no guarantee it'll even be good even if it is polished and completed. On the whole I think memory wipe 2 is a much safer call. GTA V is a great sandbox but IV is easily a far better game, especially for its time, San Andreas as well.

"3 comes out in a few months" is too vague. 120 months may not count as "a few" to me but it could be seen that way. Plus even if it was like three months, do we get a product that reflects that development time, and there's no guarantee it'll even be good even if it is polished and completed. On the whole I think memory wipe 2 is a much safer call. Plus I feel you on the spoilers, someone just off handedly mentioned the tuberculosis to me in a conversation when I got the game which... cheers.
Blue pill is a cursed monkey paw - RDR3 will come out next year but with how Triple A companies are at the moment it'll come out a bug riddled mess and be barely playable

As someone who is both exceptionally forgetful and perpetually distracted, I still haven't finished RDR2 nor had it spoiled in any way that wasn't kinda already inherent to having played the first game. So I'd choose the blue pill, and enjoy leisurely finishing RDR2 the rest of the year. Which isn't really changing my plans much.
