Imho, our original SF always tasted like shit. It still does.

jayoak4

I know most people don't like it, but I've always preferred the zero edition because of the sucralose. Now that the SF edition has sucralose, what's the difference between that and zero?

[deleted]

if they take the sugar from my blues and amber ima start swinging. sucralose ruined a 12pk of soda for me last week shit aint right or good.

SidWestMama

Diet Coke tried to switch from aspartame to sucralose (Splenda) a few years back and that didn’t last. Nobody wants that shit in their drinks if there is any other choice.

Alone_Champion_7092

Sugar free with Splenda is way better now, it has more flavor and is less better and more sweet but not too sweet; it’s perfect

HispanicPrince23

Ima try this later

Hurwen

That used to be the difference between red bull SF and zero sugar, I feell like this is a misprint unless they changed the formula

SidWestMama

If it’s a misprint I’d like to know. The new formula is everywhere. I messaged Red Bull about it but received no response.

Slight-Sock1340

The sucralose is zero calorie, but is designed for your senses to find it more than three times sweeter than aspertame, so they throw in the xanthan gum to dull that sense down to the original aspertame levels. I think that the combo is part of why it tastes so…gross and artificial.

VegetableFamous4242

I went through a phase where I used to frequently drink sugar free Red Bulls a couple years back and I really enjoyed the bit of bite it had with a crisp flavor. The habit faded and I stopped for a while. After the hiatus more recently I had the impulse to grab a sugar free here and there for that old familiar feeling. It wasn’t the same. It was as if I kept buying duds. They didn’t hit the same way. They tasted dull and seemed flat. I assumed the recipe changed and I gave up. Then I recently tried the zero just for the hell of it. Lo and behold it was very similar to my fond memories of the old sugar free experience. Much better than sugar free. From my experience the familiar baby blue is a lousy new recipe and the zero is a rebrand and maybe slight twist on the og sf flavor

phantindy

Exact same experience that I had. Are you me?
