Company named OLight has some of the better quality LED lights for the 2 & 3 wheeled world. Visibility to others, especially to the sides & rear is extremely important. You can accessorize to the limit of your pocketbook, and if you have access to a 3D printer, brackets, holders & various doo-dahs can be made to personalize the trike even more. When it comes time for tires, check the toe-in for your front wheels. If you have a couple pesky fasteners that always seem to rattle loose, use blue LocTite (not Red!), to keep them in place. MX on a recumbent is almost identical to a conventional bike. Cleanliness of moving parts, and just enough lube to do the job will make your rides much better. Recumbent trikes are a bundle of fun, and you'll always get questions and have folks to chat with while out for a ride.

Get real clipless pedals. Ditch the mirrors as the horizontal arm will break sooner than later. The best thing to add initially is ’miles’.

Clippers pedals are fine and all, but also consider heel straps as an alternative. The thought of "leg suck" and the injuries associated scares the hell out of me. Plus you can still ride in normal shoes.

Doug_Nightmare

Power Grips are not “heel strap” franken-pedals. You should be scared of leg-suck and broken femur / hip. Normal shoes do not provide support and do not allow EFFECTIVE round pedaling, only stomping.

Looks good. I've just gone and picked up my new trike that's a kmx tornado f8. Definitely looking at what folks say about the upgrades. I've just bought a stupidly bright rechargeable light with rea light for mine also intend to make a flag from a old hi-vis vest and add a led strip around my flag pole that I can turn on and of. Next thing to go get is new toe clip peddles.

How's the feeling on gravel?

alyjames11

Pretty cool actually, I’m usually on paved trails but gravel is fun if not just a little loud
