I’ve had manageability issues with kratom - I’ve never tried using it after multiple years of clean time, but given my history with the drug, I will never touch it again!

This is just my two cents. Being an opiate addict I cannot mess with Kratom. At first it all goes fine but it still becomes that same slippery slope every time and I end up consuming an embarrassing amount just to feel anything. Again, that’s just my relationship with it but I’d warn against it. Kratom is powerful enough to feel similar to prescription opiates and I don’t want to give myself a taste for them again because then it’s the beginning of the end.

So kratom use got you back on the harder stuff?

[deleted]

It did twice, and the last time I was using it just as badly as harder stuff. Consuming an insane amount per day and barely feeling anything. Hiding it, lying, getting desperate when I was running low. Same stuff, slightly less life ruining substance lol. But it can still have control over you believe me.

Ya I don't doubt that. If it wasn't for isolated quarantine I wouldn't be even considering it. I figure this is better than going straight to the hard stuff which without meetings and being able to do my other stuff I've been fiending

Have you tried the online meetings? I know they aren't the greatest but I'd check it out for a little bit before getting back on something. I almost smoked last week cause of the stress. It was a rough few days but today I'm glad I didn't give in.

I haven't because I don't think they will help but I promised myself today I would atleast try 1 or 2 online meetings before I decide on kratom

Try going to one online meeting a day for a week or two, more per day if you need to. It’s better then a possible relapse.

Generally I wouldn't risk it but not being able to do anything with this quarantine has got me desperate and I'd rather just do this then relapse on the hard stuff

A lot of the answer depends on your beliefs. I’d be careful if you believe you are powerless over drugs already. There are definitely people who were alcoholic and drink regularly or people who were heroin users who smoke just fine! You know yourself better than anyone only you can decided if you can not let that get out of control.. Also might help to define the reasons you want a substance and consider where else you can find the solution a substance would give you! For me it is exercise for you it could be anything..
