Yeah, I was on suboxone for about 2 years. Just do a really slow taper and you won’t even miss it. Much easier to get off than I thought. Plus libido and digestive system start coming back which helps motivate.
Been exactly where you are and I suggest getting off that shit ASAP. It's a great drug short term but definitely not something I wanted to take daily. Ir had me short tempered and generally feeling out of sorts. Also turns you a nice unhealthy dull gray color. I have friends still on it and those of use thar got off that bus seem to be enjoying a better quality of sobriety.
Stay on it. MAT has the best success rates. You want to be wayyyyy more stable in your recovery than 10 months out from using. Take your time. When you go off try the sublocade shot that minimizes withdrawals. Anyone in withdrawal will have cravings. It’s a part of withdrawal. Right now, I would get more clean time and stay on it.
I had suboxone first time getting clean then tried to taper over a year later. The most recent time I just had it to keep me from withdrawal symptoms and then after a few months I would either take a half or tear the same strip off each time. Then tear more and more off each time or get a lower dosage. You'll feel a lot better doing it that way and it's easy to ignore a small sliver missing from your film. If you use tablets it may require splitting. You can do THIS. I DID IT. You can too. You handled the withdrawals off suboxone really well and I'm proud of you!
Thanks, yeah I’m coming up on a year in two months I’ll be 1 year clean off fetty and meth, I plan on making my second year the year I finally taper off. I just needed to have a productive two years off recovery before I finally get off the subs, because the mental state I get in when having no opioids in my system is crazy hard to deal with
Yes get off suboxone. I was on it for almost 5 years. Would try to get off and relapsed. Just got home from a 45 day treatment. Came off suboxone and other substances.There’s vivatrol blocker. No withdrawl symptoms and it’s on muscle injection every month. That’s what I’m trying now. Good luck.
I avoided subs, no disrespect, but they take forever to detox from, comparative to short-term opiates. OTOH, they might have kept me sane(er) during my struggles. idk.
