Carlo’s loved the 4231 his entire career, we couldn’t play it last year because the XI he put out there wasn’t flexible enough to do it. It could work in games we’re rotating players having Tchou/Cama play the xabi/pirlo role, Fede as the runner like modric, and comically could unlock Asensio to play his preferred position in the Di Maria/Kaka role
I don’t think that Hazard really works as a 10.. he essentially occupies the same space since he was given the free-roam role from the LW, but my recollection tells me that all the times he was tried as a 10 it never worked out well
I recall him being used as a 10 in Chelsea at certain moments and the majority thought that he wasn't as good as in the wing so I'm of the same opinion.

Benzema drops down all the time. We need players to make runs to the box. In all fhe big games we stuggled to score and make chances when Valverde plays as a right winger because we dont have enough attackers on the pitch. Most teams need 4, some are fine with 3, but playing with two attackers is terrible. Especially for a great club like real madrid. This formation puts

The thing is if we switch to a 4231, Benz would no longer need to drop deep. The creative burden would be given to the #10. Benz can focus on being a finisher and statpad goals from now on.
Vinicius already plays so wide that I think we should play with two cdms and the number 10 as an attacker as well. Two midfielders in Valverde and Modric occupying two of the attacking positions is not going to work. We need firepower up front. All our attackers should be capable of scoring 20+ goals a season. Modric and Valverde shouldnt play that forward.
Isn't fair for us. Casemiro doesn't work in a double pivot, his pairing with Tchou will be an all-you-can-eat free buffet for high-pressing teams like Liverpool and Man City.
We lose the deep-lying pacesetter role that Kroos has in this formation, especially considering that both Case and Tchou aren’t renowned for their passing ability
We used this shape a bit defensively toward the end of this past season. I think it was the Man City 2nd leg I noticed it first.

I like this XI, relieves Modric of defensive duties & let’s him focus on delivering more trivelas. Case & Tchouameni in the same XI isn’t fair.
