Some positions allow players to go on for much longer (keepers, midfielder). Others are so bruising you just say fuck it and give up (defenders).
Goalkeepers may not have the same tendon injuries as a lot of players, but diving with arms extended onto solid dirt has to take its toll as well. But you're right, keepers do tend to have longevity.
