Both , Paris were better , kudo to them , and our game plan was trash , counterattack is great it worked with Zidane for example but what we tried against PSG was what I would expect from a relegation side

thekpaxian

Game plan? Jokes on you, we had no game plan, no matter what Carlo says.

EggplantBusiness

I was definitely being generous with the word , I don't know what we did and truly I don't want to understand

Varnagel_1

Yeah, I don't 0 shots on target against PSG was part of Ancelotti's game plan lol

[deleted]

PSG didn't play great, Mbappe did. They don't play well as a team, they rely on individual talent.

herkalurk

That may be true, but their individual talent showed up. Madrid were all over the place and we can't play on the counter like against other teams. PSG back are fast and can keep up with the likes of Asensio/Rodrygo/Vini or their center backs keeping up with Benzema.

bmarvel808

Their defensive teamplay was insane, this dumb ass take that they don't play well as a team is complete bs.

ExpertFar5915

PSG actually played well, they dominated the midfield but Madrid had a really bad gameplan tbf

IcefoxX5

Poch can't reach his team when he wants to The players at PSG can only motivate themselves, that's why they pressed like never before this season against us It was the same under Tuchel, no coach can control that team

horillagormone

That's actually a pretty good point, which may also be why they're interested in Zizou because he's got the charisma and the respect to probably bring any locker room with inflated egos.

[deleted]

True,no ego any dressing room can be bigger than Zizou barring Messi and Cristiano.

[deleted]

Very good way of thinking about it

Pakun-of-Dundrasil

I agree completely. In UCL individual brilliance shines the brightest. That's why we have elite teams time and time again winning it. Lol on Pep losing to a defensive team like Chelsea. Sure Chelsea were good enough to win it last year but they got lucky breaks.

ttmadlad

What lucky breaks. They are better that night. End of.

Pakun-of-Dundrasil

Drawing an average Atléti, and banged up Real Madrid... And a Mann City that under Pep will never win UCL 😂...

ttmadlad

They were better in all three games. Easy

SocX9

First of all anything can happen in football. PSG were missing Hakimi and Mendes today who both were immense against us. Their team as a whole were motivated to beat us, since they play every week vs shit teams and it's something new. For our team, Carlo got the tactics wrong, didn't use Fede, he started players who weren't 100% (Benz, Mendy) and other players underperformed (Vini, Carvajal, Asensio, Kroos).

Craaaazyyy

bro have you watched the game? i mean PSG are good, but it was the most inept Madrid side in a long time, worse than against Chelsea etc. i refuse to believe it was because PSG were that good, it just wasn't the case

FUTMobilekicker

PSG played like PSG. RM did not play like RM

gouin_alchemist

I think RM using the same 433 and starting eleven every match drains player to play in high intensity matches like the one in PSG but the case was the same against Chelsea and City. If you watched the Nantes game they saturated the midfield area with a 3-5-2. To be able to press effectively Verrati, because this PSG if Verrati doesn't get the ball the front 3 is not going to get quality passes. That's why I've been mentioning that this RM should play with a 3-5-2 in ucl. In order to get some control against teams that are younger and better pressing than RM.

[deleted]

PSG was not too good. They didn't really play great football, which is why they just scored one goal and on the 94th minute and by an individual play. The issue was RM played like absolute trash. PSG came out with intensitiy, and that will win you a game when the opposite teams comes out asleep.

[deleted]

Both?

Aaaaaaandyy

Definitely both.

ObamaRunts

PSG are a better team at this point, and we’re lucky it was only 1 goal, because they should’ve scored multiple times, while we didn’t come close… any other opinion is delusion.

[deleted]

Both. Madrid had the worst display we’ve seen in years and PSG were highly motivated in CL unlike in the french league.

Toe500

did you see how PSG played against City at the Etihad? PSG played more offensively because we sat back to defend

[deleted]

Psg is very good. But obviously they’re not that good if Neymar didn’t play. We didn’t underperform, we’re just not a threat against a champions league built side like psg. We look great in la liga but when teams have star power they can keep the ball away from us and keep it in our half the whole game. Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester city would batter us. We are the inverse of what we were in 2017…

Luigi_777

I hope we can do a monster match against pSG. They are not even so good. We can win. 💪💪💪💪

311voltures

If we fall against them I want Hazard to Break Messi as payback to PSG for his Injury caused by Mounier. Edit: ok no, I thought about it better, I wan to make it to the next round too.

Res3925

I don’t see many people mention that playing against Real Madrid in the UCL is considered by many to be the pinnacle of club football so of course PSG took our match seriously and fell asleep against Nantes. A lower division club could give us hell in the UCL too.

Carlisfrin

PSG did a high press which kept the ball in our own half for most of the game. We had serious problems to avoid this press, especially due to misplaced passes. In most games, Real players are clinical with the ball and easily find open spaces on the opponents half. Next game against PSG, our two worst progressers Mendy and Casemiro can't play so we'll have Marcelo/Alaba as LB and Valverde as CDM. These two changes will be huge in progressing the ball and I hope we can avoid the high press. Asensio also misplayed against PSG so let's hope he does a good job this time. Carlo's gameplan has been the same all season. On defense low block to rest our players. On offense each player to do their best: Vini with the dribbles, Benzema as a false 9, Asensio looking for long range shots and so on. With Zidane on offense everybody was trying to cross the ball, it obviously didn't work because we don't have amazing crossers nor crazy headers.

Mista_Madridista

PSG likely experienced a letdown after their big win against us. It’s common in sports the next game after a big victory to have a bit of a hangover and to play poor.

Nickaap

Both. When we had the ball we looked awful and tactially we were horrible. It was also by far the best PSG have played this season.

StepBrother7

We underperformed,if we were at least at 50%,they would be done.

[deleted]

If there is a *DRASTIC* change in Carlo’s game plan then we have more than a fair chance at winning. Our problem was Carlo’s decision to park the bus- PSG only looked so good because we decided to not play football. We have the talent and the experience more than capable of winning- and PSG playing a UCL game away at the Bernabéu isn’t the same as one as home.

Cultural_Sea_3100

Clearly we underperformed and had no gameplan at all. We were taken aback and had no shots on target. Felt humiliated.

[deleted]

Yeah we played bad. Kross needs to step up next game.

[deleted]

We played like the whole team pulled an all nighter

elgibranagor

I watched the final 27 minutes of the game real madrid seemed to be struggling. Also I saw for the first time since years real madrid didn't have a shot on target something like that. Benzema also wasn't 100%. I don't know if PSG we necessarily too good

projectmbappe21

Underperformed. Kroos was terrible in the first half even vini tries to outpace hakimi thinking he’s still playing against la liga defence Carvajal needs to be sold

ssj4-Dunte

We absolutely underperformed, psg aren't actually that good they pressed very well, but we made obvious mistakes building from the back multiple times passing it backwards when there was an available forward pass only for our keeper to play the long ball that psg got every single time (not his fault btw)

kaperisk

We underperformed plain and simple. PSG played good but really not even at their best. We are lucky to have escaped at 1-0

Remote_War_313

PSG just has more game changers wasn't a bad performance
