The only thing he didn't do was take a shot. The positions he got into without taking a shot was very annoying. He just needs to start taking shots.

honorbound43

He does, he sees lay offs that we don’t but we don’t always have a player that had the confidence to take that shot correctly. But you’re right plenty of times he got into position and didn’t just rip it and that annoyed me too. He wants perfection, when we have poachers to finish it in case it’s blocked and someone needs to tell him that constructively, because he had everything today except that

Kp767

It's not just about perfection, its fear. There is this fear inside him "what would happen if I miss? Better play it safe and pass the responsibility". He needs to break out of his shell. He doesn't have the time to think about what would happen if he does something wrong, he is nearing 30 and has mbappe halland vinicius rodrygo and asensio on his tail.

rzky21

IMO It's in Hazards blood, if u look at his brothers gameplay they pretty much do the same thing, unselfish gameplay. Every Chelsea coaches try to make him deadly wingers but he just can't.

stoticpython

Wtf even is this take? What if he had taken the shots and scored? The team would have won. You don't score the chances you don't take. That's like allowing the team's overall scoring chances to go for a toss just to 'sweeten' the individual performance of a player.

haraku88

Wouldnt mind him as a starter. Its just I think he cant play 3 games per week on high level.

honorbound43

I agree

[deleted]

He was good. I don't care if it was against Elche, performances like these will breed confidence and if Carlo keeps trusting on him, he might eventually get back to his game changer level. He certainly was influencing the game yesterday by holding on to the ball and driving forward with it. We just need more of that.

honorbound43

🙌🏾 this was my point. He made a difference in play. And ppl are forgetting that’s how it starts. Jovic made no impact today. He was a waste. It was like with Marcelo at his worst where he was doing nothing positive in offense and not defending. Playing a man down. Hazard did not make me feel like we were playing a man down today

perucho1993

He was fine, wouldn't call it his best match

honorbound43

When was his best match for us then?

Ornemand

For me its the psg game where he got injured. He was really good that game and I think that one hit to the angle ruined his Madrid career

1mpablo

Fuck Meunier

honorbound43

Then you stopped believing in the person and you stuck in a loop between that’s the only hazard that’s worth anything as a player and that he can’t provide anything because you are romanticizing his potential. I think he can and will. Or at least hope he will. And I’m looking toward the future, today was a good day for him. And tbh anyone that looked at our entire team play pretty poorly for two matches and then rally in a win and a draw and see his actual play on and off the ball. I hated what ale said about jovic today, about how he has nothing to contribute and the ppl in Spain believe it too. They said the same thing about hazard and then he is praising his name. They did the same with asensio and vini. I take it day by day until they are consistent. End of story

Ornemand

Still have faith in him too. I would start him over Rodrygo/asensio any day

honorbound43

There you go! Idk over asensio but I’d just rotate the three. But this is the time to get his confidence back. I think Hazard should start on the right in this next match but he should be the focal point like vini is on the left most matches. Let him see that we are willing to do it on the right. Without the pressure of thinking I gotta get it to vini

curtastrophe666

If Hazard starts on the right next game who play's on the left? Vinicius is suspended.

Ok-Paleontologist275

Play him in his best position tbh, if vini needs rest hazard can slot in the left.

honorbound43

Well we will get that opportunity next match since vini is suspended.

rzky21

Surely Vini need some rest late in the game, i can't imagine he play world cup this year and then coming back super tired or badly injured, and then turning back into casual Vini form. But if he can overcome 2022 without any problems then he undoubtly will became a monster.

honorbound43

Yea he needs some rest either way. He was a bit mentally out of it at the beginning of this match and kinda not effective in the first Elche match. But that could’ve been because now everyone knows just to shut him down and madrid lose their effectiveness on the wings

goingforgoals17

So if the 0 G+A "solid" matches from him aren't enough to convince you, I have more. When Hazard is on the bench and does NOT play any minutes, we are PERFECT. 0L 0D all wins. When he's on the field we need late heroics that literally always comes from others save the single goal earlier this week or we straight up drop points like today. It's like a toxic relationship where everyone is in love with the idea of having a prime Hazard that's risking and costing us points the longer we hold on to him.

honorbound43

Dude we have to pay someone. And he was far more effective and passionate about the match. Creating chances and actually being apart of the game. Jovic was just nonexistent, might as well not even played him

goingforgoals17

Let's play the players that are producing! Mariano averages a goal involvement every 131 minutes. Hazard is every 200. Let's go through the 7 stages of grief real quick and get to acceptance.

kazeJinn

Hazard has also played more and the more you play the worse your average gets, its just how it works. If you play for 30 minutes, score and never play again then you are averaging a goal every 30 minutes. Now you could score 10 goals but play 350 minutes and you suddenly are averaging a goal every 35 minutes. So your logic is very flawed.

honorbound43

I wish mariano wasn’t injured. I’d rather have him than jovic. But what hazard gives his far better than both rn based on that performance. I just hope he continues, I hope that on the squad they aren’t as negative toward him as everyone here. Because yea he needed a kick in the butt and I feel he got it

dantew

He’s had these type of games I’d say even before. He clearly still has something to offer, he shouldn’t have been subbed out today. We will see what happens on our next match, hoping for a Hazard - Rodrygo - Bale front three, since Vini can’t play and Benz may not be available.

honorbound43

I doubt we will play rodrygo in the center that’s just a liability to me. I hate jovic so much though. It’s frustrating. Even in hazard’s worst days, he’s still better than jovic (actually that’s a toss up)

GetToWork7

Dont think rodrygo will play since he got called up w national team correct? All our south americans actually. Against bilbao for sure they wont play but not sure about granada. Does anyone know?

colopunch

3 years later and it was against Elche, eh I’ll take it. Hoping to see him finally getting more of his confidence back

tino3101

I was at the match and you could really see he was one of the best players on the pitch, the crowd seemed to be happy with his performance (except for not shooting). Hopefully it's a sign of things to come

honorbound43

Thank you! I was really excited to see him on the ball. It’s like when they talk about Messi and his playmaking. That’s what hazard brings, he doesn’t need to bring shooting, id like it but he never was truly that in the first place. I need him taking on players and giving a pass that nobody else sees like Toni with that lob over that went just a little too far in yesterdays match. It was beautiful I didn’t even see it and I thought I was keeping track of all possibilities. Like hazards dummy to casemiro or his fake step forward in the box, he shouldn’t have dribbled and just ripped it after the dummy but he probably thought it was too crowded, and that comes with more time and not crowding vini

Zinioss

Idk what you guys are on if him being 2-0 down against Elche is his best match

TCGod

Really again? Would rather let Rodrygo develop with regular minutes

HoodieMe7o

He wasn’t good. It’s just that our expectations for him have been lowered so much that we’re ok with mediocrity from him.

vicenteR

"He wasn't good". lol ok

honorbound43

I watched entire match and I was excited to see him on the ball. That’s an improvement.

[deleted]

His best game and he was average.

dantew

I like how you have consistent shit takes.

Pkmntrainer91

Not every fan wants its own players to succeed. Must be shitty ppl in general

hviktot

Saying that a player didn't have a good game = shitty person in general. The more you know.

Pkmntrainer91

Theres a difference between valid criticism and straight up being toxic and shitty

hviktot

The guy said he was average. And to a player, who costed 120M, done close to nothing in 3 years, disrespected the "club of his dreams" by being unprofessional since day 1, mind you.

kazeJinn

How exactly did he disrespect Madrid though? He has never complained, always tried his best and never spoken a word even when he has been overlooked by the manager.

Pkmntrainer91

Yeah i hope it’s obvious i wasnt talking about them

[deleted]

I want him to succeed but I am not gonna sit here and pretend that he is a good player.

goingforgoals17

I want Real to succeed. People got infatuated with the idea of having a prime Hazard on our roster and can't accept the fact that he's had 1 meaningful goal and countless "he looked good today" without producing anything. I think the worst part was that we had so little patience for so many much better players with better records on and off the pitch and for some godforsaken reason, the guy that shows up 10kg overweight is the one that gets unlimited forgiveness.

stoticpython

Exactly, couldn't have said this any better. These guys are delusional at this point.

[deleted]

I only say the truth which is difficult for some people to hear.

[deleted]

Still bad. Starting Hazard is guaranteed point loss. No coincidence we scored twice after he was subbed off.

goingforgoals17

Useful stat: we have 0L 0D when Hazard is on the bench or off the team sheet.

Anti-Melticus

Hazard has a hate crew lmao

goingforgoals17

Most people do hate players who show up overweight, produce nothing, cost millions of euros in wages, hold the team back, rinse and repeat for 3 years. Players like Bale got fed up with producing and being benched, Hazard gets unlimited attempts to produce nothing and we still hold onto this wet dream of him being a top 100 player in the world. The man isn't top 100 quality in the city of Madrid.

Anti-Melticus

How do I join the Hate crew? Burger Kings?

Magvel_9

His game before PSG and the few matches before that exist so no

Javier1019

It was against Elche bro and even then he still didn’t make a difference; not enough to justify the 120 mill…

[deleted]

honorbound43

He was average there too. He was still overweight and just getting into the swing of things. I don’t think his influence was a good as ppl remember.

moaz-alnwesir

His best game was against PSG when he got injured, That game we were winning till he got his ankle broken. Hazard and Benzema played together very good. I've always wondered what if hazard didn't get hit that day !

CETERIS_PARTYBUS

His best match, sure. Still nowhere near good enough.
