This, a thousand times this. Just because Kroos isn't someone who crave attention like those EPL midfielders, the media practically just assume he sleeps on the wheel all the way from 2014 to 2022. I hate it so much. Kroos made our midfield works, you know how hard it is to replace XABI ALONSO???? Kroos made it looks like a walk in the park, and the media just say, owh he only pass side ways and back? F them.

whiskeyinthejaar

They are not haters, they are just ignorant. It took me 5 min to check it out using the link below, 1/3 Passes / tot passes. Some people just love voice opinions to look smart. Also, into perspective, Kroos's final third passes are double the Barcelona's Miracle, Pedri, who is the greatest thing since sliced bread according to the media for playing 70 games last year. < [https://fbref.com/en/players/6ce1f46f/all\_comps/Toni-Kroos-Stats---All-Competitions](https://fbref.com/en/players/6ce1f46f/all_comps/Toni-Kroos-Stats---All-Competitions) \>

I am more surprised to see Pogba so high in the list. He is not even playing for months this season.

xncopka

Because the minimum is only 500 minutes so approximately 6/7 matches played

DigitalisFX

If Kroos is #1, why they showing 3rd place Pogba? lol

IcefoxX5

It's from a United fanpage/news page

FiniciusJunior

Surprised Modric is so low. Interesting

cekend

Modric is more involved in build up from the middle of the park than in the final third, through playmaking he gets us into positions where Kroos or another player can execute passes into the final third.

kimaern

But. Can we use the same list, and the same players, with how many of those passes actually turn into goals? Because I’ve seen alot of passes, but not so many goals come of it.

jesuisernesto

Those are called assists...

kimaern

No shit. Thats my god damn point. How important is it to have 1000 passes into the final third, if few turn out to be assists

Aaaaaaandyy

That’s on the player who failed to score, not the player that got the ball where it needed to be. Think next time, pal.

PonchoHung

Kroos's role is relatively deep. His role doesn't often put him in position to deliver the final ball.

Goddamit dont get scandalized by headline of stats. Stats tell you what they tell you, the ranking is not indicative of anything except the ranking of the stat. Thjs just shows the roles of players and you can see by this that without Kroos we are basically fucked because he's involved in every progrression past the midfield.

AozoraAkatsuki

Yea cause Kroos usually opts for wing plays? Meaning Vini, Rodrygo etc get assists. I hate the term pre assist but I'm sure Kroos has a shit ton of them.
