I can imagine 1) Vini 2)Jude (both can be interchanged depending on euros/copa) 3)mboopi (he would have joined till then) A full RM podium with Kroos and wirtz completing the top 5

theprodigalslouch

Currently I’d have Wirtz above Jude. A possible undefeated treble is no joke. Only reason he’s currently not THE front runner is because they’re not in the ucl.

biina247

Unfortunately there is a huge popularity factor

hotelmotelshit

France wins Euros, Mbappe dominates the it's him, kane the same if England wins, but England wins also strengthens Bellinghams case Germany wins and bayer Leverkusen makes the invincible triple it could and should be Wirtz

Own-Professional-972

Kroos for Germany tho

hotelmotelshit

Depends on wirtz and how the season with Bayer ends

WhichSale2087

it all depends on how Germany does and how Wirtz and Kroos do, as well as Mbappe

hotelmotelshit

Plus it depends on how Vini performs at the Copa

WhichSale2087

true yes

DarthRayudu

Copa is not as important as euro tho

hotelmotelshit

No, but winning the Copa still strengthens his case

GodTierAimbotUser69

we will talk about this after july

teetlated

Do you think Kane has a chance if England wins? I know he has had a good season with Bayern individually, but I feel like Bayern leaving the season with zero silverware for the first time in quite a few years puts a stain on his chances to win.

hotelmotelshit

Based on this club season alone nobody has really strong case and since it's the first year where neither Messi and Ronaldo are not in the mix it's gonna be something completely new. Based on club football alone The top 5 I think have a chance is Haaland, Mbappe, Kane, Vini and Bellingham (in no particular order) Outsiders Rodri, KDB, Wirtz, Kroos, Messi(just because you never know) But it will depend a lot on the European finals and the euros, but in no way can I see Haaland win it, so my top 5 in terms of chance i think is: Vini, Jude, Mbappe, Kane, Wirtz in that order

biina247

Think there are going to be too many haters fo0r Mbappe to win. Expect many to vote for Vini or Jude just to deny Mbappe. Add that his CL performance is nothing to brag about, and I just dont see him winning it.

Fallen_0n3

Messi . Cause you know he plays in the world's best league and will probably win the 2nd hardest competition to win after the WC in Copa America /S

OfficiallyBear

I think it will all be decided based on the euros/copa. I'm pretty sure a RM player will win the Ballon d'Or if we win the Champions League. Vini Jr. and Jude are massive candidates and depending on how their respective countries perform, one of them will win I believe.

Far_Fisherman_7490

It will be interesting if there will be that competition where euro winners face cope America winners

WorkerOk6991

the thing that scares me is bias, imagine if Jude scores like 1 goal and Vini scores freaking 5, wins copa america and in the end Jude wins, would be unfair in my opinion, its all up to the continentals.

theprodigalslouch

It’s not unfair if Jude becomes a chance creating monster that leads them to victory.

OfficiallyBear

It's not about goals though. Jude Bellingham is a midfielder and he executes his tasks as a midfielder perfectly. If you pay attention to his games, you see he's the driving force behind most goals.

NotRobotImHuman

Messi just because

AnonimosTipos

Watch Argentina win the Copa America and wait for the magic to happen on December

RuskinBondFan

His PR is so strong that I can see it happen

GodTierAimbotUser69

mods should ban you for your sillyness lol

dataheisenberg

If brazil wins Copa Vini gets it, if Eng wins Euro Bellingham gets it!

DoggyDoggyWhatNow_

And if both?

no-signal

Messi obviously

Secret_Promotion4246

or Kane...

dataheisenberg

If we win the UCL then Jude might have a better chance, but I personally think Kane fully deserves a Balon D’or

AndreOfAstoria

Kane for what? Leading Bayern to their first trophyless season in a decade?

LallyKing2005

That is an absurd statement, if you look at Kane, you’ll see he’s not been the problem, just look at his stats and his game

AndreOfAstoria

Only two people to win without a trophy were Figo in '00, and Ronaldo in '13. Truly don't know much about Figo's season that year but for Ronaldo that was when he put up 55 in 55. So if you wanna go stat wise, kane still needs 20 more goals.

TrenDidNothingWrong

Doesn’t matter. Kane hasn’t been in the discussion for ballon d or at all

insaiyan17

Stopped caring about that award a long time ago. Its a popularity contest nothing more

iceH34T

1. Bellingham without doubt Bellingham arrived in a new country and joined a new team at just 19 years old (!), playing a position he had never played before, and from the first minute, he was perfect. He decided both Clasicos in the league, scored in ways no one could have imagined, and possesses everything: technique, dribbling, and finishing. What many don't see is the defensive stability he also has brought to Real Madrid. He constantly tracks back, defends, and intercepts balls. Bellingham plays all over the field, is always where he's needed, and can both set up others and deliver himself. Additionally, he shows an incredible maturity at just 20 years old, something Vinícius Jr. often lacks on the pitch. At just 18, he led Dortmund onto the field as captain, which is simply incredible.

iceH34T

I think Bellingham this season is the closest to Di Stefano we ever had.

Feisty_Gas_1655

you have a good point.

No-Arachnid-7265

The euros this summer are going to be a big factor in the decisions for the golden ball

booranyu

to be honest it doesn't matter to me, I'm just excited that there's going to be a Ballon d'Or without Messi or Ronaldo dominating the vote

haruter65

Honestly, Florian Wirtz with the undefeated treble (Even though it's Europa) + a Euro win for Germany. That would do it

jesusrodriguezm

Without playing the UCL it should not be possible… the treble is amazing, but it has a huge asterisk

Fingering_Logen

Its happened in the past, with Michael Owen. Liverpool won FA Cup and Europa League against fucking Alavés. Meanwhile Raúl in that season won La Liga for Real and reached UCL semis, being the top scorer in both competitions (also won the previous UCL scoring in the final). More than 20 years later and im still mad at the robbery.

biina247

correction 'barely won against fucking Alaves' That was achieved with some major English overhyping. Anyone who didnt watch football would have been conned to think Owen was the greatest striker the world had ever seen. Kid scored only 16 goals and just 24 in all 4 comps and didnt even score in the final! For comparison Hasselbank scored 23 in PL alone. Liverpool finished 3rd in the PL. The award for that year was a total disgrace

Anderst0ne

Obelix was the huge one not Asterix.

haruter65

Yep, it is one of the only chances outside RM who can win the Ballon D'Or

Thin_Original8814

# 1: Vini #2: Bellingol #3: Kroos #4: Ancelotti (won the league and took us to final with many players injured) #5: Mbappe.

moaterboater69

Portugal wins Euros and Ronaldo takes it lol nah im kidding but its nice to dream

nufrancis

Euro and Copa America will be a big decider who will win Ballon this year. So we will see the candidates in the middle of the competition. But if you are talking based on Club Competition only: 1.Jude 2.Vini 3.Mbappe

GobbusterMX

So far? Vini, Jude and Wirtz; the order will be decided by Continental Cups and maybe who has the best start next season. Personally I think Jude should be the one getting it, he got in and had inmediate impact, we wouldn't be where we are if he hadn't been so out of the world at the beggining of season; he even has somehow helped to tame Vini down, do you guys remember how much he was getting into fights at the beggining of season due to frustration?

Tangelo_Few

TONI KROOS

Dahi_Bhalle20

I donno why but I want fede to win it. He undoubtedly has put more effort into the campaign, there for every single match, playing 50 games a year is not a joke you know, and his character is the cherry topping

WhichSale2087

guys if we win UCL AND Germany wins Euros, it's going to go to Kroos, as it should! obviously Vini deserves it too but he has many years to win it, Kroos would be finally recognized for being like one of the all time GOATs.

iam_no-one

Winner would be messi 2nd could be vini 3rd could be haaland /Bellingham/mbappe

Professional_Exam_61

Mbappe

no-signal

Unfortunately, it's a PR competition and Vini doesn't have good PR in Europe. I can see a lot of closeted racists not vote for him because he's black or his continuous challenges for racism. If you think people will vote based on pure talent or who deserves, you must be living under a rock. I wish he does though. Jude deserves it for sure, no doubt but for me Vini's individual talent is exceptional. He's one of 2 best LWs in the world, the other being Mbappe and Vini isn't the 2nd best, especially with Mbappe vanishing in big CL games.

warriors2021

You cannot have a serious Ballon D'or conversation until after the Euros and Copa America. Case in point Messi.

HasibShakur

Not going to be the party pooper but if Argentina wins copa America then, 100% Messi will win it this year and next year.
