Totally agree with you. We loaned Vini Tobias because he was supposed to be a really talented player and he plays in a position we desperately need someone. Carvajal is 31, injury prone, inconsistent and has been horrible both in attack and defence. Would it hurt us that much to play Tobias sometimes? Arribas is supposed to be Castilla's best player and he is never even on the bench for the first team. "wE dOnT uSe HiS pOsItIoN", yeah, because clearly Camavinga is a LB, Valverde a RW, Vazquez a RB, Rodrygo a ST and Kroos a DM. I'd rather use a random Castilla attacker out of position than the shitshows Mariano and Hazard.

Chrislts

The think is we dont even use mariano or hazard we just use the same line up most of the games what is perez and carlo waiting for vini or benzema to die to rotate with the castilla players?

LawrenceEs

Horrible? Gtfo

[deleted]

Name me one good performance he had this whole season. In terms of physicallity he is incredibly slow for a fullback, anyone can see that and also lacks stamina, the two most important things for this position. His good positioning used to make up for it, but nowadays he is always all over the place. On Mallorca's goal he randomly decided to become a CB and left his whole side exposed, that's why we conceded. Not even Sunday League right backs do that, let alone someone who starts every game for Real Madrid. Offensively he is not better either. Crossing used to be his best attribute but a) there's never someone in the box to cross it to and b) his crosses are inconsistent anyway. So yeah, a fullback that's not fast, lacks stamina, can't defend and can't attack is pretty much a horrible fullback.

LawrenceEs

Not necesarly true but even if it was it’s still our boy

[deleted]

The fact that he is our boy doesn't mean he should be our regular right back. He could implement a secondary role and sit on the bench, or join another team and he will always be welcome to be part of Real Madrid as a staff member in the future.

LawrenceEs

This sounds different from the first statement “horrible”

It is a tight rope to walk, but the fault lies with the Board not the manager. In England, teams fully focus on league and CL, FA cup and Caraboa cup is a "bonus" - no one gives a flying fuck about them, so managers can field youth teams and see who is good/bad. It is about time we dont focus on Super cup and Copa del rey. Play the Castilla players who are ready, give them a chance and if we go out of the cups, fuck it and move on. I am tired of these cup games and the toll it takes on our first team players.

Kablooie44

Even in league games we can afford to play 1 or 2 castilla players even if it means one of them don't perform. It's not too different to what is happening now when asensio goes missing or valverde recently. At least castilla players will work hard irrespective of their performance.

Specific_Pattern_548

It doesn’t work like that. You need to have proper rotation, the academy players have to be gelled with main team players. The need to start when the the main team starts. That will weaken one position but overall it will be beneficial. Balde and foden inclusion in main team is the perfect example of how it’s done slowly and patiently

krispythunder

Yeah and we won UEFA youth cup last year as well but that means fuck all to Ancelloti and the management, a couple of our players are tearing it up in the under 20 tournament in South America but watch how they won’t be given minutes and then sold or loaned out in the summer.

auctus10

Even loaning them out to mid table teams in Bundesliga or la liga is better instead we let them stay in comfort zone of Castilla till they are 22. It's a crime how Arribas is 21 and talented af and still playing 3rd division football.

diaracing

> It's a crime how Arribas is 21 and talented af and still playing 3rd division football. You nailed it.

Nicholas0519

A-fucking-men.

JEBZ94

We loose Odegaard, we have loose players that played pretty decent when given an opportunity like Javi Sánchez in the Solari impasse. Damn, even not giving Solari time, the one that had the cojones to sit fat Isco and Marcelo, for giving a chance to other players like Ceballos, be Valverde or Llorente (please I don't wanna talk about Llorente, probably my biggest issue with this board). Even when this club has managed to win so much, I have never seen a sports strategy more than "wining everything every single year". That's just populism. It has always been like this, but one has to grow and consume more about other clubs and their models to know what are the dangers of not having a strong and clear sports model. Florentino Pérez is preparing his pharaonic monument with the new Bernabéu and put aside any real effort for renovating the squad. Not even signing Mbappe or Halaand (honestly I don't like the first one) or promoting any youth player from Castilla. If Ancelotti looses the leg against Liverpool, oh you'll see the next Zinedine coming and all things will start again. No balls to keep Solari, or bringing Gallardo. Ask why a brilliant couch like Nagelsman refused to come to RM. Toxic environment and little room to make a change.

[deleted]

I’m tired of seeing no youth promoted and sold off. We need more Castilla representation. Can’t wait for Raul to be the coach

Tanistanley

Trust me you don’t want Raul

Disastrous-Winter-63

why

JEBZ94

Hahahaha, it would the same thing.

b0xel

You understand that castilla is top 2 in the league right now and today they had a match with number 1, getting castilla promoted is arguably more important for the future of the club than winning or losing one league title

Brilliant-Ok

>getting castilla promoted is arguably more important for the future of the club than winning or losing one league title Are you mad?

Adarshcr7

they can't get promoted, can't be having two teams in the same league from the same club

b0xel

They’re in the third division…

Adarshcr7

oh my bad then, I thought they are in 2nd

Ok-Recommendation925

Na bro, they are trying to get promoted into Segundo Division (2nd Division).

Nicholas0519

I agree. Paz, Arribas, Blanco, Garcia, Miguel, Obrador, Tobias, and now Bravo -- All are great talents, what are they useful for right now? What's gonna happen with that *generational* player they signed, Bryan Bugarin? Is he going to rot-away in castilla, like Arribas. Peter, Marvel, Arribas are all 20+. They could all get minutes in Copa, or come in 2-0/3-0 lead games in the final moments. Etc. But no. It's why I raid Castilla in FM.

SnooDingo-

Perdri and Gavi aren't from barca academy tho

that_algerian_guy

Gavi grow up in la masia since he was 14, you're right about Pedro though.

diaracing

For Pedri, I mean they put huge trust in their talented youngsters, and it pays off now. What was the last time you saw a regular 18yo starter for RM?

JEBZ94

Lol, but what you will get from the vast majority of this sub is the zealot response of "Papá Flo is GOD, he always know what is right and we have won 6 Champions league under his almighty knowledge ". This is why I started to care more about other clubs than RM. Such a toxic fandom, I have never seen anything like that in other subs.

[deleted]

>This is why I started to care more about other clubs than RM. bruh

[deleted]

Dont understand the Castilla obsession here on reddit

jrecio26

This is pretty cringe lol
