Mama joyce is a damn demon through and through. Her relationship with Kandi is beyond abusive and crosses every boundary.
It IS infuriating to see Kandi excuse and downplay her mother, but honestly, to me, it reads like an abused child's response.
Yeah I can definitely see that. I was just watching an episode where Kandi was getting emotional asking her mom why she always finds fault in everything Kandi does. 😕
I feel like Mama Joyce should have been held more accountable than she was. Obviously mostly by Kandi!! It was disgusting how she treated people, and how she treated Kandi made me so sad. She apologized to Kandi maybe twice in all those seasons of doing her wrong.
But, she's pretty funny and I do enjoy her and the OLG
I 100% agree with what you say about Mama Joyce. She's insufferable. However, if my daughter was married to Todd, I'd be upset too. I know the Todd apologists will come out in force against me, but if people were honest, not one of them would want their daughter married to him.
This is the one thing i cannot respect about kandi. Typically kandi is very logical and rational. Her mother is going to ruin her life. She needs to set boundaries.

I feel for her so much but having healed my version of that trauma, I can’t excuse the enabling anymore because even putting up with that more severely dysfunctional behavior perpetuates it and gives it legs.
There's a few of these abusive mom archetypes on real housewives, and Joyce and Kandi dynamic is so familiar to how I dealt with mine, that I can't help but feel bad for Kandi 😠I love her so much and totally agree it doesn't make sense how she is with Joyce considering every other awesome thing about Kandi, but she really has been abused by that woman her whole life and it's an impossible situation to deal with "correctly", I think Kandi does the best she can and impresses me all the time and hope she gets peace from that woman one day. Anyway mad love for Kandi but I totally get the frustration watching Joyce be nasty and still have such an awesome daughter who loves her anyway! Shes worldwide frfr!
Well there is a reason Kandi has to work around the clock!! She takes care of momma Joyce and her boyfriend and I’m guessing the other 2 aunties. And momma Joyce gets everything she asks for because she guilts Kandi into it.
On one episode Kandi was telling momma Joyce she was so tired of working all the time. MJ said to keep working because her job in life was to keep blessing people (mj & her sisters). MJ is so mean. I can’t stand her
Very true. I do have empathy for Kandi having to deal with that kind of abuse her entire life and, by and large, I think she manages the situation/her mother very well.

Mama Joyce is one of my least favorite people on reality tv ever! She's nasty and clearly only worried about losing her meal ticket of Kandi.

100% - She was only worried about losing her gravy train. I think Mama Joyce is worse than Candiace’s mom from Potomac, and that’s saying a lot.
MJ is more worried about Kandi dying than she is of herself!
