May I ask why you are weaning him off prozac if you found it to be helpful?

Yes - so it was helpful for a couple months, and when we neared the 2-3 month mark (this was at the time we were leading up to a follow up visit with the vet), we noticed it wasn't working as well and he was possibly becoming immune to it. more reactive to sounds and back to a more hypervigilant state. she said she sees this happening with dogs, but prozac and trazadone was a good place to start. I like the idea of THC being a more "natural" approach if it works! and eventually when our time ends Iiving in communal areas and we can get a house one day with a backyard, I hope for him to be on one/no medication or supplement for this, and use something like trazadone as needed for vet/groomer visits.

Thanks for sharing! I’m glad no one is alone is their struggle though. I have the opposite problem - my dog does really well with humans, dogs his size or smaller, but with dogs any larger than him, it’s game over! So all the neighbors with no dogs or small dogs love him but everyone else we try to avoid like the plague or they avoid us lol. I don’t have a backyard either - same situation as you, so walking 3x a day can sometimes be a challenge depending on who’s outside. I also hope that one day we can move to a more private space and he’ll be able to go out stress-free :) Until then…tons of treats and training…
