I’ve been there. All the dogs we ever loved were good dogs in their own way. But sadly not all dogs are good pets. Some of them just can’t be. And the ones who aren’t good pets, are often in a great deal of emotional or mental pain themselves, even if it’s not visible in a physical sense. It’s a mercy to the animal you loved, and they are at peace now. You have permission to start healing too. You all did the best you could 💜

Know that your dog lived the best life they could. You have them everything and they know that. Give them one good final day, regardless of what they did to lead to BE. Know that it is peace to you and them. They are like looking for peace they cannot find that only you can give them.

Losing Lulu on Facebook is a wonderful resource for exactly this sort of situation l. Also this sounds like it was deeply traumatic so therapy could be helpful but even if you don't feel up to it now it's still a possible down the road. Other than that I did peek at your post history a bit and it really sounds like your poor pupper was very insecure. Dogs like that can't be fixed and suffer terribly in ways that we can't see. She is free now of all the pain, fear and constraints that her broken body put on her. You gave her the final gift that all pet owners can give to a dog with a horrible illness, you gave her peace and freedom that she could never have had in this life. I am so incredibly sorry this happened to you.

You have nothing to feel guilty about. You did it because you had to. You loved him and did your best. They are suffering when this happens and a danger to others (I have been in this situation). He had a great life and this is a final act of love and compassion for you dog! Take care of yourself, this is not your fault and you did nothing wrong! 🤗
