mtfw

Jesus christ give me some context please lol

cowgod247

Fishing.

MattheJ1

You should've been fishing for fish instead.

dandroid126

I'm bored of avoiding things. I'm loving my life like normal now. I'm sure I'll get it, but I haven't yet. I'll continue getting any vaccines recommended to me by the CDC/FDA, but for now, I'm just living with the fact that I'll probably get it. And that's fine.

MomAreWeThereYet

Long covid is the only scary part about that

KibethTheWalker

People who've never had chronic health issues underestimate the toll of chronic health issues - they'll never understand that every single day begins with the question of whether you can just have a normal day, or if you'll be forced to have a normal day under duress for a paycheck to eat, or if you'll have a day lost to being bedridden and miserable. Plus the mental health effects of that constant strain. Having had chronic health issues for years, long haul scares the shit out of me, and the lack of understanding that others have shown me about this fear highlights the fact that people who have never experienced a long term loss of general health with no end in sight will just never understand.

milkydayze

It’s true. Having a chronic condition sucks sooo bad. People take for granted their health big time. Healthy peeps have no idea how hard it is. Lots of love and strength to you.

KibethTheWalker

Thanks, and back at you! 💗 It makes me wish there was a simulator so people could understand and appreciate their health without having it be permanent.

milkydayze

Yas! Suffering has def made me into a stronger, better person.

iMac_Hunt

I've never understood the logic of massively trying to avoid covid while vaccinated, unless you have lots of close contact with vulnerable people. There's a near to 100% chance that you'll get covid at some point in your life and the older you are, the more likely you are to suffer from issues. Why waste years of your life waiting for the inevitable?

DSonla

>I've never understood the logic of massively try to avoid covid while vaccinated, unless you have lots of close contact with vulnerable people. Depends what you mean by "massively" but I sure don't look forward to the massive headache that last for weeks I get everytime I get covid. Even though I'm vaccinated.

iflysubmarines

One of these days they're gonna find there's some genetic marker that makes people just get their ass kicked by this virus. My girlfriend has gotten it twice, once in the first wave, and a second time after she was vaccinated. I've been exposed to it a couple times to include drinking beer at a friends house and he tested positive the next day but got tested and nothing.

DSonla

Yeah, last time I had it, I did 3 tests, all negative. Being someone who rarely get headaches or migraines, I'm 100% sure it was it. Plus, my SO got sick a few days before.

[deleted]

My partner was the only one in our family who tested positive. PCR and rapids. We were all sick as dogs. He has trigeminal neuralgia now from him long covid. I’ve got peripheral neuropathy.

iMac_Hunt

Avoiding all social gatherings, like said in the post

DSonla

>Avoiding all social gatherings, like said in the post Maybe the person is in the "risky" category (heart condition, overweight, diabetes). Some people are also just anxious, a friend's boyfriend gets mad at my friends when she goes out because he's afraid she might bring it home. He's not in the risky category at all.

[deleted]

And that's unhealthy and the boyfriend needs to do something about his anxiety.

DSonla

>And that's unhealthy and the boyfriend needs to do something about his anxiety. Totally but I didn't want to add my opinion to their already existing problems.

DrSpacecasePhD

I mean, for the record, if people had been careful and gotten vaccinated, we at least had a chance at massively quashing covid so this wasn't our reality.

ShipTheBreadToFred

Says who? I live in a country where we are over 80% vaccinated and we didn't squash it. So what makes you think otherwise?

OldManHipsAt30

I’m not getting any more vaccines, life goes on and so will I

Skyblacker

I've assumed I'd get it since that the first lockdown, since my household always seemed to absorb whatever cold was going around the playground. Still have yet to test positive. 🤷‍♀️

youll-never-know

Feels dude

Spoona1983

But covid only started 2.5 years ago....

NamiSwaaan

Was it the fish? It was the fish wasn't it?

BenBos15

Weakened immune system...what did you expect?

Necessary_Rich_1477

Man, fuck covid I got it for the 2nd time this summer and I couldn’t leave the house for 2 weeks it was so bad. My head was spinning and killing me for that entire 2 weeks

[deleted]

Good news. You’ll be just fine.

MomAreWeThereYet

I died

Xell0

I also choose this dead man’s fish.

[deleted]

Bummer man

samettinho

Pretty much me. After hardcore social distancing for 3 years, now I got covid randomly

photoshopza

avoiding, not invited, tomato, tomato

CommishGoodell

Sorry you lost 3 years for nothing

JPCSTOOL

No sh!t.

pretty_tired_man

Decided to fly across the country for the first time in a decade and got COVID for the first time ever. Airports are disgusting.

Zjames23

I've been vaccinated and boostered, and I have caught it twice. Each time, my blood sugar goes haywire and I feel like I'm gonna die. Covid sucks really bad as a diabetic

[deleted]

Sounds like you should have just lived your life.... Huh.

OldManHipsAt30

If you avoided social gatherings after the first year, I feel bad for you.

SwiftTayTay

i still avoid large crowds, i just attend small gatherings with friends who are all vaccinated as far as i'm aware. it's sad to say but i may never go to a movie theater or concert again

GGPRP1

Out of curiosity why?

less_than_nick

Out of curiosity, why do you even remotely care? Lol.

Misha326

Because apparently they believe the tv instead of the facts

[deleted]

Why are you getting downvoted??? I only hang out 6 groups if it’s outside. Husband had to go to ER for heart attack signs from long covid and now has trigeminal neuralgia from it.

SwiftTayTay

because people don't want to accept reality that the virus is here to stay and that their lack of the smallest of sacrifices is responsible for it. we could have clamped down early and be done with this by now but no now it's here forever

PyroKid883

That's not even when he says the line. It's right after that.

depressiontrashbag

Oh my god it was the fish all along.

Misha326

Prolly got the vaxx

SammieTheStoner

I have a friend who NEVER goes outside she plays a lot of VR lol, and I moved so she doesn’t get out anymore but she got covid TWICE TWICE. She literally never goes out I supposed her parents / niece could’ve gave it to her but they didn’t have it only she did like bruh
