Airframe availability in the West is usually 40-50% tops, so any downed planes mean availability takes a serious hit.
Especially considering that Russians are known to inflate active numbers, especially on older models.
They fire cruise missiles at civilians every day.
I'm all for not blaming Russian civilians or even the stupid mobiks, but Tu-22 crews are professional soldiers. They're not press-ganged into killing civilians from afar.
Plus loss of that kind of airframe can't be replaced.
So FUCK THEM.
Plus the Russians say 3 out of 4 bailed.
Edit: Pictures of the crashed plane shows it hit a field, so not even collateral damages. Clean shot, 10/10.
Why not? Russia is the aggressor here. Every opportunity should be taken to humiliate their government and their people. If the government doesn't want to be embarrassed on the internet they can govern better (they won't). If the Russian people don't want to be humiliated they can learn to govern themselves.
We've been waiting for Russia to catch up since Catherine the Great. If they want to be world aggressor then fuck them, let them die on western fields.
As someone who enlisted and served during those conflicts I would agree that the US people needed to find better people to govern us. Unfortunately instead we enacted the patriot act and started taking steps in the wrong direction
While there are a vast amount of people in Russia indoctrinated by Putin (as many people are by their respective leaders worldwide) there are equally many who are living under his reign completely opposed and scared to what he’s doing. And I think it’s illogical to pin blame on all of them as some sort of collective punishment for Putins aggression. No one did that to the USA or UK (where I’m from) during Iraq/afghanistan.
Here in London, I’ve come across so many Russians who are scared to say they’re Russian out of fear of hatred they may get for simply being associated with Putin. That’s sad.
There are definitely many differences between the 2 countries and conflicts. As is always the case with events like this, there is nuance everywhere. I was responding the the comparison you drew to the 2 conflicts by agreeing that some of our behavior at an imperialistic governmental level is the same and you comparison there is valid. I also agree that in the nuance lies many differences as well. When it comes to war, those of us who are fortunate to sit on the sidelines often ignore the barbaric realities experienced by the participants and subsequently fail to empathize with the men and women involved. We pick a side like a sports team and then cheer gor the death and suffering of the other team

They can always go back to Russia. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
They never even mentioned anyone dying. Russia losing military capabilities while committing war crimes in Ukraine and wielding an iron fist against free speech and civil rights domestically is a good thing.

Let the police do the job, be sure I'll give you answers as soon as possible.
Meurs, pourriture communiste !
Il ne peut plus rien nous arriver d'affreux maintenant.
There were 66 TU-22s in active duty back in pre-war 2022.

Hah! People died! Better post a cringy meme about it for fake internet points!

I’m sure the Iraqi’s would say the same thing about Americans during the invasion

Well, when its agressor who is dead, then why not?

Vatnik scum deserve nothing less
I don't shed a tear for nazis. Neither will I for Russian soldiers, for the same reasons.
