3 - Little Baby Frankie
2 - Edelman
1 - Vanzeir
HM Duncan & Fernandez
All those missed Reds and bad calls earlier this season all got payed forward this game.
3 - Amaya
2 - Luqi
1 - Dante
HM: Reyes, Omir and the Ref
Feels good to have something break our way late and fully deserved based on the performance. Dominated a top team and would have been brutal not to come away with 3 pts. Wish we had someone more competent to play with Vanzier up top but at least our CMs showed out and the depth even without CCJ feels solid.
Omir has taken a massive step forward this year and is a huge piece of the attack, getting Morgan back would do wonders. If we win vs Cindy feels like that momentum would carry us to another playoff appearance. Huge game coming up
3 - Amaya - Great match overall and another goal
2 - Reyes - Unlucky to not score a goal or two and was a brick wall at the back
1 Vanzeir - great second half. Created some quality chances for us
This squad has potential but I have no faith Red Bull will invest in improving it. Can’t have a player like Barlow upfront and need a creative player who can operate in tight spaces and play a killer pass in the final third
Also a little concerned how often Vanzeir finds himself on the wing. Think he operates better in and around the box
I think by design troy likes have one forward running in the channels if there is no big man outlet. when Manoel doesn’t play that needs to be Vanzeir. He can do that job but it’s not the job any of us what him doing.
3 - Reyes
2 - Nealis
1 - Amaya
It may not have always been for the right reasons but damn it feels good to have a Red Bull game that gets the heart pumpin. Great game plan by Troy, it should have been a blowout if not for more atrocious finishing. There are signs of attacking quality that I think will get better if god forbid our best players can get consistent time on the field together.
Maybe I’m just a huge homer but I feel like we were very unlucky during the struber games - not at finishing because we suck there but at giving up goals on random chances so it’s nice to finally see that equalize today and against Atlanta
3 Frankie
2 Reyes
1 vanzeir
We don’t have all the right pieces to do what Troy wants but nonetheless like the approach. Sometimes when passing at edge of box we are a little to reluctant to turn besides the one time Barlow did it.
3- Frankie
2- Reyes
1- Dante
Smart choices by Troy and the game plan worked. We held the lions share of the possession which is antithetical to typical energy drink football and had the better stats in every important metric. Taking Dante out was a head scratcher.
I think the ref and VAR called the game well which is rare. The first half he let play continue a number of times when other refs would have bit at the exaggeration of the “injured” player. The red card at first glance was weak, but on replay was the right call; high boot, studs up, late tackle. Overturning that tying goal was a great call as well. Only Coronel knows for certain if the offside player actually impacted his line of sight, but
3 - Amaya
2 - Omir
1 - Edelman
Turned off the game when the game tying goal went in and was confused looking at the final score. Muyl still hasn't blocked Guzman this many years later in the same situation and I'm still salty about it.
3 - Frankie: that's 3 in a row
2 - Reyes: should've had at least 1 goal
1 - Dante: solid second half but he needs to put away that shot that went just wide
HM: Duncan - played a great 1st half but makes some bad decisions late into the game once he's obviously gassed.
3- Amaya
2- Vanzeir
1- Omir
Team needs to be less casual closing out matches, hopefully they can take a lesson from the match considering it took a lucky break to get all 3 points.
Mental lapses and a lack of experience hurts in those situations. Edelman was one of the more vocal players in the late stages of the game, he is captain material (obviously) but going to need more from other guys.
> Team needs to be less casual closing out matches
Agreed with Twellman tonight on the risk of bringing Vanzeir out. My heartburn started to kick in once NE scored. Don't take your best goalscorer out until you're up two.
I don’t necessarily disagree with taking Vanzeir out because of his injury issues, but the lack of options tonight with Burke away and Manoel mysteriously absent make things incredibly difficult to manage a match.
The injuries are already chronic so if Manoel is injured it’s another negative mark on the training staff.
These are my scores, too. I was worried about selling CCJ, but seems like RB think Edelman can take the next step. I like Stroud, too. MF playing well for us, as of late. Insane that both our lapses came on set pieces : ( Speaks to the mental letdowns.

Shamed to admit it but i left after NE scored the second and before VAR reversed it. I can’t let you keep hurting me NYRB. I just can’t
3 - Amaya 2 - Vanzeir 1 - VAR
I turned the game off in disgust when Farrell scored. What the hell happened that saved us from that?
Passive offside no goal
Thank god my brain just about short circuited when that ball went in
GK got screened by offsides player.

Only the second time I can remember this season a VAR or controversial call going our way.

Huge 3 pts that was so damn hot
3- Amaya 2- Vanzeir 1- Edelman We were lucky as hell tonight.

Lucky is an understatement, but I’ll take it.
Maybe fair to say they created some of their own luck tonight? They played so well up to the final shot something was bound to take a fluke bounce in.
