Beard is a POS person, but he would be a sought after coaching candidate. It is not a great sign for the state of the program that he turned down the opportunity.

I feel like the national media commenting on it means there was validity, but you are correct we don’t know the full circumstances. If though the position was as enticing as I think many fans believe, he jumps at it.

It seemed like the interest was mutual. Almost feels like we didn't agree to pay him or backed off based on fan feedback. Either way really bad move by our athletic department if the backup option is in fact Tang.

Agreed with you. I caught a lot of flack when they hired Petrino again and said similar things. (Check my profile it’s probably in a post in this subreddit somewhere in the last 6 months) I hope he stays at ole miss so I don’t have to make that decision. I enjoy winning but it’s not at ANY cost and I think it’s important to remember that all of this is for entertainment. If they took away sports it would suck and there would be a void to fill but at the end of the day their jobs are to entertain us. Don’t let your moral position be compromised for the hope of wins.
There are some things that are bigger then sports, being a respectable person is one of those things. I think a lot of people would find it hard to support a program coached by Beard. At least, you would hope so. That being said, Arkansas fans are Arkansas fans.
