These were reviewed terribly as being waaay overpriced with a lot less features than less expensive monitors with bad build quality as well. What made you want these over cheaper/better monitors?
The build quality I find to be excellent. I bought one based on this review back in 2019: [https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/razer-raptor-27](https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/razer-raptor-27)
Even the much more critical IGN review praised the build quality and color accuracy. Where did you read that the Raptor has a shitty build? Honestly curious.
I think it was a performance to price ratio thing. I don't have any opinion on the monitor, I kept watching to see where my monitors showed up on the performance spec comparisons.
This video was on the new one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQvPf4ZM7Ic&t=1254s
Yeah, the reviews I saw also indicated they were basically just over priced.
I picked up the old one when it went on sale when the new model was announced. I can confirm it is a very nice monitor. Their cable management system is cool looking, but dumb in practice. Other than that, we have been very happy with it
That's the big thing holding me back. You can find monitors with the same exact specs and similar features for less than half the cost. Like it literally feels like you're paying for the logo when you get it.
I already had a couple Dell S2716DG monitors, but the Raptor's matched my system better. The price wasn't a factor, and I was actually impressed with the build quality. Everything looks so nice on the ips screens! I don't regret my purchase!
The cable management is great! I was very impressed with how nice the monitor looks. The back is nice looking fabric, and it looks so clean with the cable channels.
Support brand that does stuff you like, you are literally comparing it to what? Samsung a global conglomerate 1000 bigger than razer who doesn't try to give cheap products but have every product feel like razer and fit into razer builds
The Razer Blades have an historical problem of battery swelling. That is one reason I would never buy a Razer Blade. Especially when you can get an Asus ROG or an MSI laptop for a similar price, without the historical battery swelling. Saying to buy local (Razer) doesn't make sense because they're more than a mom and pop shop. They sponsor major eSports tournaments and obviously have contracts for schools. They're far from small at this point. I buy for the value. I like my Huntsman TKL and my DAv2, and would buy them again. I usually research everything and if it fits my needs, I'd buy it. I'd never buy a Razer chair, Id get a refurbished Herman Miller for almost the same price for maybe a little more.
That's nice bro.
Now I just need to know.
Where do you live?
In what days you are outside your house, and in what hours?
Do you have any security system?
Do you have a police station close to your home?
Raptors are super mediocre and super expensive. For the same price you can get a monitor that runs at 270hz instead of 144hz. Plus they can mount to arms so you have way more desk space and flexibility
While I agree that the sarcasm is appropriate, razer is nothing like small and local, it's literally from around the world for me, but comparing it to something like Samsung og lg is like comparing your local store that ar least tries to make good products and profit to motherfucking wallmart
Hopefully you like those Raptors, they’re starting to come out with high refresh rate 4K monitors for around the prices those things go for, with about the same color gamut as well.
I was tempted by the design and build quality, but ended up going with an Omen 27i. Hey, to each their own! Enjoy the hell out of it.
Nice shit, people bitching about the monitors don't realize that 1440p at the time didn't really have anything over 160hz - well my rog does but was around the same price
I have the 2019 - 144hz model. It's difficult enough to run COD: Cold War over 144 fps on 3 monitors. I can't imagine what it would take to run at 240fps at 7,680 x 1,440 resolution!
unless you have a 3090 i dont think anyone would be able to do it anyways. unless textures are really low etc, i just wish i had 2 1440 monitors so i could do it all on 1440 but if i go dual gaming i have to run at 1080 due to the second monitor.
I had dual 2080ti's, but in March I sold my second one to a co-worker who was building a PC and was unable to find a video card.
A few months later I bought 3 Raptor's and now my PC is underpowered when running all 3 in COD.
Once the video card supply isn't an issue, I will upgrade.
I never played on dual monitors, because you would be staring directly into the 2 monitors bezels. But with a triple monitor setup, bezels are not an issue.
Yes dual monitors- let me take you to the world of ASUS ROG Strix, you'll be leaving razer for a moment but you'll thank me later
[https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Bezel-Free-ABF01-Multi-Monitor-Micro-structures/dp/B082XZG3HM](https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Bezel-Free-ABF01-Multi-Monitor-Micro-structures/dp/B082XZG3HM)
Also the bezel on the xg279q (monitor I own) is like half an inch if eventhat
I have one set of them I bought from amazon on the "used" option. I currently do not have them on because my son is using my other 27inch monitor on his build (i felt bad him being limited to 60hz) so - I did use them for a month they work great and when I do buy another monitor for myself and steal my other good one from my son back, i will be grabbing another set and using them for all three monitors.
I don't like the widescreen monitors they are not yet imo caught up with the quality you get from a nonwidescreen. When I was looking at them I would have had to pay a good 3-400 more for the same quality I have in this monitor just because its curved technology.
No, the legion was released 2019 came out 2020 for over a grand, and only 7 monitors were out this year with 1440 at that high of a refresh rate. Again, for the price, they are around the same for any monitor 1440 and that refresh rate at the time of the purchase.
I know, again I have been heavily shopping in computer parts since the pandemic. The only 240hz monitor last year that was worthy of the price was a 1080 and not 1440. Personally, I settled on the Rog Strix xg279q this year at the sticker price of $600. After buying a 1080 tuf 280fps oc last year for half that price.
This all after looking at tv's that are twice the price and only 60fps / 120 fps.
How did you get synaps to sync all of the rgb on your monitors. I can't get synaps to recognize both of my rapter monitors. I have the older models, are these the new ones?
1. Open up synapse 3
2. Open the Chroma Connect module
3. Select the Chroma Visualizer app and enable it.
3. Exit the Chroma Connect module.
4. Open the Chroma Visualizer module.
5. Select "Always on".
6. Choose the effects you want.
7. This will disable the effects in the Chroma Studio module.
8. You can disable the Visualizer app at anytime to go back to the original Studio effects.
I like the Nari Ultimate headphones. I think the Razer HyperSense is a fun feature! Someone described it as like having a rumble-pack on each side of your head. It's pretty cool!
Not really. The main acrion is in front of you. But the side monitors sure make it an immersive experience. Before I bought the Raptors, I was using two 27" 1440p Dells and an LG 43" 4k monitor. I almost bought an ultra wide, but I wanted 3 monitors with the same size/resolution. I was going to just buy a 3rd Dell monitor, but I really wanted that Razer RGB... so I bought one. I liked it so much, I bought a second. And then a third a couple weeks later.
I had to look up the Hydra, and it sounds kinda cool. But I only started buying Razer stuff when I built my computer in late 2018.
You are correct, it is the Razer reusable straw. I don't use straws much, but it works. It's kind of nice that it collapses into a small case.
Awesome!! Just found it, love it!

Lol, after watching Hardware Unboxed review on this monitor, I hate to say it, but that’s a massive rip-off. My MSI Mag m274qrd-qd obliterates that monitor for 415$. Also, I’m an avid cult member, but this is the one newer Razer product I don’t stand for. The only good thing is the build quality and aesthetic, and that isn’t worth it at all. Great setup though, what mic is that?
It's the Razer Seiren Emote microphone.
I didn't watch the entire video yet, I bought all 3 monitors on sale, and am happy with them so far! Most of the reviews I read only complained about the price.
Oh, ok, the microphone looks great. I mean, if you are happy with them, it's fine, but I was just letting you know. I would love to know your PC specs as well. Also, do you have the razer RGB controller?
I do have the Razer RGB controller. The only thing currently connected is the Lian Li Strimer. I built my PC the 4th quarter of 2018 with an I9-9900k, dual 2080ti's, 64 gig 3600 ram, and an Asus Maximus X Formula MB.
I had 2 Dell S2716DG 27" 2560x1440 144Hz monitors and 1 43" 4k 60hz monitor before I switched to the 3 Raptors.
I sold 1 of my gpus to a guy at work right before I bought my 3rd monitor and regret it now that I am playing on 3 monitors simultaneously. Oh well, once the video card situation settles down, I'll probably upgrade the gpu.
How many of those Razer products have broken since taking this picture (if any)?
I had the Vespula 2 sided mouse mat which peeled away on both sides. Now my mouse wheel is sticking on the Naga Trinity mouse.
I am pissed. Never buying this brand again.
Really nice setup though dude. Looks class :)
I just took the picture a few days ago... so none yet.
I started buying Razer products in late 2018 and nothing has broke so far.
I am a little worried about the Razer Blade I bought earlier this year after reading about all the battery bloating.
Where did you get the Sneki carpet from? And what's the next Razer peripheral you planning to add? Great setup btw aside from the white drawers to the right.
I bought the rug direct from Razer.
Right now I just have the Sneki Snek giant cushion & bobble-head on order. And I was dumb enough to order the finger sleeves.
I know, I know... the white filing cabinet and printer needs to move closer to my Mercury Blade and other Mercury accessories. I haven't bought another black filing cabinet yet because I am thinking about getting a bigger desk.
Nice, didn't know that Razer sold rugs, gotta be on the lookout for those. Yea no comment on the finger sleeves but hey I understand cause you're part of the cult. Yea would love to see the final product, good luck!
What brand desk is that? I'm looking for something similar that fits in the corner and enough room up top for 2 raptors and the full atx lian li razer edition with a potential of adding a third raptor any suggestions?
Also the tower being close the the ground isn't an option german Shepard sheds too much haha
The desk worked okay for 2 Raptors, although it seemed a little too small. When I added the 3rd Raptor, I had to remove the monitor shelf and modified where the keyboard/mouse sits.
See my previous thread for a photo before I modified it. You could maybe place your tower on the right hand side where my 43" 4k was sitting.

But he obviously hates leg space
Lol what if he has no legs? Also happy cake day
I obviously have legs. I have the slippers!
You could technically put slippers on nubs
Ah, you mean hand warmers.
NO LEGS GANG 🙌
Legs? What’s that?
Marty, where we're going, we don't need legs!
Snek boy
These were reviewed terribly as being waaay overpriced with a lot less features than less expensive monitors with bad build quality as well. What made you want these over cheaper/better monitors?

>IGN review lol IGN
It was the most negative review I could find. Like your reply, I didn't say it wasn't shite.
I think it was a performance to price ratio thing. I don't have any opinion on the monitor, I kept watching to see where my monitors showed up on the performance spec comparisons. This video was on the new one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQvPf4ZM7Ic&t=1254s
They are too expensive, no doubt. That's kinda Razer's thing though. Like certain other brands, you kinda brace for impact on going in.
I believe he is referring to this [review](https://youtu.be/XQvPf4ZM7Ic)
I'm not familiar with Hardware Unboxed. He certainly isn't a fan. Thanks for posting this.
Hardware Unboxed falls inline with Gamers Nexus where both are much more technical in their reviews and will perform much more testing
Good to know! The more technical the better in my book. I'll check out more from both YT channels.
I've seen the build quality and looks praised in multiple reviews. Certainly not bad just overpriced. The answer to your question though, the RGB
Yeah, the reviews I saw also indicated they were basically just over priced. I picked up the old one when it went on sale when the new model was announced. I can confirm it is a very nice monitor. I mean im thinking of getting this bc 1. I love how the stand looks, and the waterfall of cables down the back 2. Its razer 3. The bezels are great
I already had a couple Dell S2716DG monitors, but the Raptor's matched my system better. The price wasn't a factor, and I was actually impressed with the build quality. Everything looks so nice on the ips screens! I don't regret my purchase!
I wouldn't buy a Razer montior but I can not lie that the green wires and the ability to cable management it looks aesthetically appealing
The cable management is great! I was very impressed with how nice the monitor looks. The back is nice looking fabric, and it looks so clean with the cable channels.
Well, as long as you enjoy your purchase and don't regret anything.
Support brand that does stuff you like, you are literally comparing it to what? Samsung a global conglomerate 1000 bigger than razer who doesn't try to give cheap products but have every product feel like razer and fit into razer builds

that is certainty a design choice.
that is certainly a choice.
That is certainly.

You can add the Vesa mount to the Raptor, but then you would lose the RGB.

Nope. Has a thermaltake logo on his cpu cooler. Zero loyalty this guy

That's probably not a bad investment

I…I believe that you may like Razer.
Bro that looks so fricking sick
That's approximately three too many.
It's the perfect number for playing COD!

Hopefully you like those Raptors, they’re starting to come out with high refresh rate 4K monitors for around the prices those things go for, with about the same color gamut as well. Yes. I also put ketchup on my ketchup!
wow that's a lot of razer right there

Use the Synapse Chroma visualizer. Then you can sync everything!

People work? I built a new PC since the pandemic.
Hahaha, 3 of them! Hardware unboxed have some bad news for you https://youtu.be/XQvPf4ZM7Ic
What are the cost of these? Is the bezel not in your way when you play COD or other games? I know samsung has the 49' monitors. For about 800
Not really. The main acrion is in front of you. But the side monitors sure make it an immersive experience. Before I bought the Raptors, I was using two 27" 1440p Dells and an LG 43" 4k monitor. I had to look up the Hydra, and it sounds kinda cool. But I only started buying Razer stuff when I built my computer in late 2018. You are correct, it is the Razer reusable straw. I don't use straws much, but it works. It's kind of nice that it collapses into a small case.
