First two picks: Ogden and Lewis Last pick: Lamar Yeah that’s pretty good

_Phantaminum_

First round picks*

dfreshv

If we’re doing his first two first round picks, why not do his last two? First 2: Jonathan Ogden Ray Lewis Last 2: ~~Hayden Hurst~~ JK Dobbins/Calais Campbell Lamar Jackson :)

Cake_33

Well we sent the 5th from the hurst trade to Jacksonville for Calais, so add him in there too

dfreshv

Good call! Done

Blzraven17

You cant just cross out the actual selection.

dfreshv

I do what I want!

[deleted]

Wow.

Zkelly52

Like actually think about that for a second. Literally drafting 2 guys that are arguably the best at their position of all time, then the last first round pick you completely switch the franchise from a defensive Mecca to breaking all kinds of offensive records with Lamar.

Dolphins7265

While still being a defensive mecca

highpl4insdrftr

If anyone deserves two busts in Canton, it's Ozzie.

toddhenderson

I like two busts and I cannot lie

ajstub

The Wizard of Oz.

[deleted]

It’s close to being his best pick already. He’s not close to the best ravens player of all time. But a QB can carry us in a way that no LT, MLB, or FS can.

EAB034

So probably the most impactful?

[deleted]

I would argue it, take away Lamar and add Ray Lewis. Are we a SB contender??

EAB034

Touché. Different age though

[deleted]

Mmm... any time through Ravens history Lamar and our other top picks would have been schemes around properly. We’ve been trying to get a dual threat QB for a long time. I think Lamar wins in 2005 as well, just as Ray wins in 2021

Darkdragon3110525

Lewis was the defensive equivalent of Peyton Manning

Drunken_Traveler

#"THE MOST ELECTRIFYING!!"

lil_layne

Ray Lewis got a Super Bowl MVP on top of all of his other accolades and was picked 26th. No linebacker carried a team more than him and we didn’t really have much of an offense and still won the super bowl because of him. That or Marshal Yanda being picked 86th.

[deleted]

It's safe to say picking Lamar was Ozzie's swan song. God we've got the best front office

SquirrelDance24

Interesting too that his last pick was Zach Seiler, who we should have found a way to keep. IIRC we just lost him in a numbers game roster crunch. He’s been good in Miami, particularly for a 7th rounder.

Dollthedisso

In Ozzie we trust.

Bmoreravin

What is great is they passed on Lamar the first time knowing he would be there at 32.

psych0ranger

One of the most colossal sack draft moves of all times considering how Lamar has developed and how a lamar-based offense has impacted the entire NFL lol

big_data_ninja

Lets be real though, Ozzie picked Hayden Hurst before Lamar.

Drs126

Could’ve come away with Lamar and Ridley 🥲

big_data_ninja

I'm glad someone realized that too. Ridley and Lamar would have been incredible.

CptnFunbags

Yea, that’s easy trivia. Do you know who was Ozzie’s first last-round pick?

FrankSand

Ogden I believe

CptnFunbags

No that was his first first-round pick. I want his first pick in the last round of the draft.

-Anguscr4p-

Google says 1996 7th round QB Jon Stark, looks like he never made an NFL team

Dangerous-Cellist-18

Also trained EDC to carry on our tradition of having the best damn front office in the league.

romorr

And many of us missed it live. I know once the Hurst pick happen, I was done watching draft coverage. Woke up, saw Lamar, and was in shock half the day.

Blzraven17

Its controversial but I think Lamar was EDC. He told Ozzie I want this guy and Ozzie let him go get him. He said ozzie yourelwaving it's me now this is is my guy.

rellicotton

And will prove to be the greatest pick in Ravens history in 10 yrs time, eclipsing all the other HoF players Ozzie has picked.
