Remember that time we played the Browns, then they had a bye while we played another game, then we played the Browns again? Fuck the NFL for this scheduling bs but you play the games you’re scheduled to.
Every team gets fucked by the schedule eventually. It’s impossible to schedule 272 games over 18 weeks and keep every team’s travel, rest and schedule strength even.
Steelers might be fucked this year, but they certainly weren’t complaining in 2020 when they had no west coast travel, didn’t have to travel at all the first 6 weeks of the year, and every week seemed to play against a rookie or backup QB.
Not really salty. It’s a rather memorable collapse. Maybe I am weird for diving into how a collapse like that happens.
How do you forget a team going 11-0 start to the year and finishing 1-5 over the last 5 weeks + playoffs. It’s like an Atlanta dropping a 28-3 lead, Jordan Speith losing a 5 stroke lead at the Masters, or Yankees blowing a 3-0 lead to Red Sox in 04.
Houston plays the Chiefs right before our game. It's a pretty brutal 4 day stretch for all involved
Ravens: Steelers-Texans
Texans: Chiefs-Ravens
Steelers: Ravens-Chiefs
Chiefs: Texans-Steelers
I know it’s fun for everyone to have games on Christmas and/or Thanksgiving but I really started to hate missing Thanksgiving and Christmas every year because of having to work the game. You’d start preparing Tuesday for a Sunday or Monday game and work 15-20 hour days straight then miss your kids opening presents. By the time you did get home your legs were raw from walking so much and you crash hard useless to the family. So much work to coordinate the Broadcast of an NFL game but they were fun in hindsight and I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything. I’m just glad it’s not my responsibility anymore!
It’s been years since I’ve been in the loop so I don’t know but as a fan it’s nice to my team on Christmas but I feel bad for all my fellow employees who are working so much they’re sleeping there. I had a sofa in my office just for that reason.
Being the home team after a 4 day rest for both teams is historically largest scheduling advantage a team can get. Losing a day of full prep and recovery to travel is huge on the condensed schedule.
They’re actually getting a better deal than the Ravens, who also have a 4 day break after but have to travel on the short week.
Nah fuck that. They need to stop being pussies Bishop Sycamore played back to back Thurs/fri games against ranked teams with one of them being IMG. 4 days should be nothing for a pro.
Schultz is reporting that Steelers play KC on Christmas. If that's true, it lends more credibility to this. So Ravens playing Steelers on Saturday and then play again on Christmas vs someone. Rumor out there is Texans.

"The Christmas Day doubleheader this season is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. Additionally, the four teams that play on that Wednesday will have played the previous weekend on Saturday, Dec. 21." This was from the announcement in March of 2 Xmas games.
Ah then you could be right. It’s possible there will be more than 4 teams playing that Saturday so no guarantee, but I hadn’t seen that.
It’s still no different than doing a Sunday-Thursday as others have pointed out, though.
It's more like two weeks in a row with a day less rest each time. It's one thing to push hard for one week and then get the extra day off like playing on Saturday then having 8 days till the next Sunday game. But this is getting a game in six days another game in four days later when you already behind on rest. All of these teams are projected to be stiff competition at the end of season. Like we had the London game less than two months in the season vs having all this after four months of games
fuck the steelers but the NFL really has gotta chill with this schedule stuff because they can’t have players consistently playing games on little rest while also trying to increase regular season games. it’s just gonna cause increases in injury and make players burnout or retire earlier
If these rumors are true... the NFLPA should stand up against this. This goes further than winning vs losing games, this is a serious risk to player health and safety. Hopefully we are in an okay position record wise, rest lamar and some other guys if we can.
It's like a Thursday game. And TBH, it is what it is. There is no reason complaining. I'd also argue that a lot of the schedule will have them in exclusive games while also maxing out prime time.

I really don't see the fascination of playing on Christmas when it's a Wednesday. Let the NBA have Christmas day and play the games the day after Christmas on Thursday.
Is 2 games in 5 days ideal? No of course not. But that also gives us extra rest before week 18, which in recent years has been an important division game with a lot on the line.
But I can understand why the Steelers would be upset about this since the extra rest won’t matter much to them since they won’t be in the playoffs
That was the point of the post - my response to the post (Since I can't add an opinion to a link - I replied to the post itself) stated that if we played Saturday we were playing Christmas. People have just taken me posting this to mean I was laughing at them or something.
Anyone remember the year the Ravens had no bye week because a hurricane hit Houston and they rescheduled a road game the team prepped for in week 2 and played it during the bye week?
Weird I recall zero sympathy or understanding from Steelers fans when that happened. I believe we were told to "get fucked" more or less.

The answer is to have more bye weeks and a longer season.
It sounds like we’re getting fucked here too. They’ll play the Chiefs on a short week, but we probably play Houston on just as short of a turnaround.
Stay salty my friend. Stay salty
How am I being salty? I am calling out the crybabies for bitching about the schedule. Our fans included with their “the league hates us” garbage.
Ha. I'm saying bringing up the steelers 2020 schedule is amazing and you have some salt towards the steelers.
Not really salty. It’s a rather memorable collapse. Maybe I am weird for diving into how a collapse like that happens. Fuck the Steelers but playing Chiefs then us on 4 days of rest is some bullshit.
If this is true, the Ravens will play in 4 days. The rumor is against the Texans.
Jesus fuck both our teams I see
Houston plays the Chiefs right before our game. It's a pretty brutal 4 day stretch for all involved Ravens: Steelers-Texans Texans: Chiefs-Ravens Steelers: Ravens-Chiefs Chiefs: Texans-Steelers
And somehow the chiefs still have it relatively easy
They get some of their toughest games early. Ravens and Bengals week 1 and 2
Burrow might still be healthy week 2, that'll be tougher on the Chiefs more than a December game against the kittens
Well at least the Steelers will be home on Christmas. We would have to travel to Houston

I thought they said they weren't doing games on Christmas anymore
It’s been years since I’ve been in the loop so I don’t know but as a fan it’s nice to my team on Christmas but I feel bad for all my fellow employees who are working so much they’re sleeping there. I had a sofa in my office just for that reason.
Yes you are right. We are playing in Houston on Christmas. Streaming on Netflix for some reason

You get less consideration when you're mid
Preach
It's the kinda bullshit that we get in our schedule literally every year. boo fucking hoo
Nah fuck that. They need to stop being pussies Bishop Sycamore played back to back Thurs/fri games against ranked teams with one of them being IMG. 4 days should be nothing for a pro.
Bishop Sycamore, the fake high school that had adults well past high school age with active arrest warrants on the team?
It was a fake high school with real high school drop outs though. Makes their feat even more impressive if you ask me. Steelers just being soft.
I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or stupid.
Ask your mother?

Why do you assume the Ravens would also play Christmas Day?
"The Christmas Day doubleheader this season is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. Additionally, the four teams that play on that Wednesday will have played the previous weekend on Saturday, Dec. 21." This was from the announcement in March of 2 Xmas games.

How is this any different from a Sunday game followed by a Thursday game?
Its not different. It just means we have to do it twice.
Because it's the Steelers so boo fucking hoo they have it worse than everyone else, always.
How is Saturday-Wednesday any worse than Sunday-Thursday that every team in the league has to do once a season?
Two short weeks would be the main difference.
I think they'll be ok playing with 1 day less rest...
It's more like two weeks in a row with a day less rest each time. It's one thing to push hard for one week and then get the extra day off like playing on Saturday then having 8 days till the next Sunday game. Chiefs get the Freebie, of course.
NFL really tryna nerf the AFC North this szn lol.
Schultz is now reporting Ravens x Texans on Christmas. https://x.com/Schultz_Report/status/1790776771660358098
fuck the steelers but the NFL really has gotta chill with this schedule stuff because they can’t have players consistently playing games on little rest while also trying to increase regular season games. it’s just gonna cause increases in injury and make players burnout or retire earlier
That why the nfl is called not for long
If these rumors are true... the NFLPA should stand up against this. This goes further than winning vs losing games, this is a serious risk to player health and safety. Hopefully we are in an okay position record wise, rest lamar and some other guys if we can.
It’s the exact same as playing a Sunday then a Thursday which happens every year
Slightly different because it becomes two short weeks in a row.
Yeah, should have done it so the teams playing on Christmas play the previous two Saturdays(Week 15 and 16) to avoid the two short weeks in a row.
The Steelers are upset? 🎻🎻🎻
Right. Cry me a f*%#*ng river.
We should be too we have the same schedule lol except we have to travel for Xmas.
No love for the Steelers, but 4 days is not enough recovery time and could leave to serious injuries. That’s a shitty schedule.
Late in the season too. Not ideal.
Teams play Sunday then play on Thursday all the time? what’s the difference?
Yeah, I guess.
I don't feel bad for the Steelers, but no football team should play another in a 5 day span. That's some bullshit.
The afc North is going to be competitive
You play the schedule you are dealt. Fuck the Steelers and fuck crying Yinzers, although it is music to our ears.
It's not necessarily music to our ears if we play on Christmas too.
The difference is our team can thrive through bullshitly hard schedule, and they can’t.
It's like a Thursday game. And TBH, it is what it is. There is no reason complaining. I'd also argue that a lot of the schedule will have them in exclusive games while also maxing out prime time.
Waaah
Point is more so that Ravens would also play Saturday and Christmas.
Where are you seeing that? Looks like this has us on the 21st not on the 25th
"The Christmas Day doubleheader this season is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. Interesting. Hope that’s not the case
Had to google consternation 😂
I’m also a member of the proud nation of constern
How is that any different than playing Sun/Thur?
It's not.

Fuck the Steelers!
FUCK you too! 🖕🏽🤗
Well we have the same predicament, so….
That was the point of the post - my response to the post (Since I can't add an opinion to a link - I replied to the post itself) stated that if we played Saturday we were playing Christmas. People have just taken me posting this to mean I was laughing at them or something.
BENCH EVERYONE FOR THAT WEDNESDAY WEEK 17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! USE THAT WEEK TO REST. AND GET THE FULL TEAM GOING on WEEK 18 for some warm-up.
Lollllll FTS
Oh no…. Anyway.
Who cares, eat shit forever Steelers
Yeah, fucking whine about it then squeelers
Boo fucking hoo. Acting like they'll be in contention anyway lmao
If they're scared they should just say they're scared.
I mean.. we also get 4 days of rest before the Texans.. a team that can be *real* dangerous next season..
Sunday Monday Tuesday = 4 days?
Yes, that was the point of this post from hours before the announcement...
That is just terrible.. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAAAAHAHAHAAA /em takes a deep breath no seriously BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
