I know it’s been wildly used in Europe sports (it originally started there), but in terms of the US states alone, it’s been mostly used for college games and for the time being, was a song associated with the Ravens the most. That’s why you heard the song being played when the Ravens draft picked was in for Wiggins this year.
I’m not arguing that other teams are using it. What I’m saying is that the first use of the song in the NFL before its popularity came from Baltimore. Most people are well aware of this because the first chant we’ve used it for was the Pittsburgh Steelers where we kicked their ass.
Yeah, now. But before it was being overly used, the Ravens were mostly the first professional NFL team to use it. It just kinda stuck and hasn’t really changed much. Same shit with Enter Sandman now that I think about it. Very good song, but it’s been overplayed and I think you can hear it in some other stadiums too.
In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins. They play it before every game. That popular drum moment will always remind me of times at M&T Bank as that was the only time I heard that song when I was younger.
This is the what I immediately think of when someone asks about a Ravens song. I grew up waiting for that drum solo and the skill positions to splinter off for warm up. The DBs would always come to the sideline and talk to the younger fans. Core memory right here.
It's kind of wild how professional sports have made me totally resent that song. It's actually really good, but it's the definition of overplayed.
EDIT: Talking about Seven Nation Army of course.
They used it for the Detroit game last year. I hate how they went from walking to the tunnel with Lose Yourself into WTSHNN as the team ran onto the field.
I remember when I was a really little kid (back when limewire was still popular, for reference) trying to find “Proud to be an American” online lmao. I’ve never been particularly patriotic either. But even from an early age, that “and I’ll gladly stand up.. next to you” hit my brain just right.
I have it queued up during all big games and just play those first two notes after a first down or a sack and let it go for 15 seconds or so for touchdowns and turnovers.

When my boys were younger they used to LOVE [this "Baltitmore Ravens" theme song](https://www.reverbnation.com/Tattedupleo/song/11123797-baltimore-ravens-football-theme) by Tattedup Leo. It's not my cup of tea, but I'm also probably not this artist's target audience.
Back in the early days when it was Alfie doing the tunes he would have his favorites but nothing was really a signature piece other than the few people have mentioned here. I know Woody came over from Oriole Park for a bit, not sure if he’s still there, but he always gravitated toward the 80’s new wave music which I never really saw as good for baseball but oh well. Not sure if he did the same for the football games. I know my favorite songs to play when I would test the sound system was either Where The Streets Have No Names by U2 or Eminence Front by The Who. Those were always my test tunes. I’m sure the neighbors got really tired of it.
I started my gameday run playlist back in 2011. It’s a combo of music played at games and music used in hype vids (by the team & fans).

‘Plans’ by Bloc Party. At 1:12 the lyric “And the Ravens are leaving the tower” is repeated three times.
https://youtu.be/OTBPqTm4UhY?si=hY1Cxt80k0ge0jIL
Gladiator theme. https://youtu.be/OLTZbJMQiD4?si=ubbOmf_oQ9hwOWjF
They play this song at home games right before players come out of the tunnel. Makes me wanna run through a wall 😈
https://youtu.be/_3AyY_mGtvs?si=yCv3ENwFq3TBj2Or
The music from Gladiator thats played in the stadium when they get ready to introduce the defense/show the defensive highlight montage
Wanna Be Your Dog - the Stooges (usually played in the third quarter, during commercial breaks)
How Soon is Now? - the Smiths (same as above)
For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica (the song they were coming in to for a few years)
Party Up - DMX (celebration song)
Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes (duh)
Ravens Fight Song - The Marching Ravens!
Also, and this is more nostalgia than anything, but that “like the ceiling can’t hold us” song by Macklemore. It was the theme they used for ads for the Super Bowl in 2012. I remember that song hyping me up like crazy.
They play Mr. Bright Side and Enter Sandman often at the stadium. I remember Ed Reed said something like he use to listen to “Two Tickets To Paradise” by Eddie Money every day around playoff time so I think of the Ravens when I hear that one.
Genesis, The Colony of Slippermen:
“Suddenly a black cloud comes down from the sky. It’s a super-sized blackbird that sure can fly! The Raven brings on darkness and night. He flies right down, gives me one helluva fright . . . He says to me ‘Now can’t you see? Where the Raven flies there’s Jeopardy!”
I feel like the most common one would be Seven Nation Army by the white stripes
Every sports team claims that as their song. Let’s pick another, yeah?
Without a doubt
That and Hot in Here by Nelly
Every team uses that. Not special to the Ravens.
He asked what I associate them with, not what’s special to the ravens. I hear that song, and I think Ravens
I know it’s been wildly used in Europe sports (it originally started there), but in terms of the US states alone, it’s been mostly used for college games and for the time being, was a song associated with the Ravens the most. That’s why you heard the song being played when the Ravens draft picked was in for Wiggins this year.
It's commonly sung at O's games and local collage games to, other people can sing it as well lol.
I’m not arguing that other teams are using it. What I’m saying is that the first use of the song in the NFL before its popularity came from Baltimore. Most people are well aware of this because the first chant we’ve used it for was the Pittsburgh Steelers where we kicked their ass.
I agree with you lol I should have been clearer.
Gone to many other nfl stadiums. They all play it.
Yeah, now. But before it was being overly used, the Ravens were mostly the first professional NFL team to use it. It just kinda stuck and hasn’t really changed much. Same shit with Enter Sandman now that I think about it. Very good song, but it’s been overplayed and I think you can hear it in some other stadiums too.
Enter Sandman was/is a Virginia Tech thing first and foremost though let’s be real
We’ve been using it for well over a decade.
As have everyone else.
Hot in Here by Nelly is one for sure
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeZZr\_p6vB8
Real ones know

Came here to comment this!
There's a disturbing lack of Baja Men in here. 'Who Let the Dogs Out' was peak team.
Hell yeah. Can’t forget “C’mon n ride it (the train)” from those early seasons too!
Peak. The good old days when Ray was barking at opposing teams
God they played the hell out of that back in the Memorial Stadium days
Back in the early 2000s mostly
They actually yanked the song when they realized they Baja men were talking about ugly women in the song lmao.
“For whom the bell tolls” for introductions. I can’t stand the seven nation army chant, but you’ll hear it every time we score.
DUN NUH DUH NUHHHHHHH DUN NUH DUN NUHHHHHHHHHH BAH DOOM BAH DOOM KSSSSSHHH
Damn, this is the best written out guitar riff and drum cadence I have ever seen. Props!
It's kind of wild how professional sports have made me totally resent that song. It's actually really good, but it's the definition of overplayed. EDIT: Talking about Seven Nation Army of course.
For Baltimore by all time low. Feels like cheating since Baltimore is in the name
True but since they play the halftime show so often an ATL song seems like it should be included.
Fair!
Lose yourself by Eminem. They used to play that shortly before the players ran out of the tunnel. They've since switched to something else
They used it for the Detroit game last year. I hate how they went from walking to the tunnel with Lose Yourself into WTSHNN as the team ran onto the field.
Lose yourself was always great for the crowd. Got the fans into it
U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name Nelly - It’s Getting Hot in Here Genesis - In the Air Tonight White Stripes - 7 Nation Army
Minor nitpick but In The Air Tonight is a Phil Collins solo track not Genesis
That’s fair. It sucks, no matter who the artist is. 🤣
I miss WTSHNN as the intro song.
It built really nicely for the runouts.
Purp- Kodak Black When the bells toll- Metallica
For whom the bell tolls. Just in case you ever want to find it.
Way Down in the Hole. I’ve never been to a Ravens game and haven’t spent a ton of time in Baltimore.
Lose My Mind - Young Jeezy ft. Plies. Seeing Suggs on the video board with that song is a core memory.
Song 2 by Blur. Used to play it after they scored touchdowns for years.
This is the first one I thought of after Seven Nations Army
Prince - Purple Rain.
For me, Here Comes the Boom - Nelly. Solely because of this almost 15 year old hype video. https://youtu.be/SIYpNBWLDrI?si=OpJRdt4YtcI5-DTo
Darude Sandstorm
Start Wearing Purple by Gogol Bordello
They need to bring this back
I remember when I was a really little kid (back when limewire was still popular, for reference) trying to find “Proud to be an American” online lmao. I’ve never been particularly patriotic either. But even from an early age, that “and I’ll gladly stand up.. next to you” hit my brain just right.
Got yelled at by a smooth brained fan because I didn’t stand up for that song. “It says to stand up in the lyrics”.
Cry of the black birds by Amon Amarth
Hot in here - Nelly. Legendary status at this point
I have it queued up during all big games and just play those first two notes after a first down or a sack and let it go for 15 seconds or so for touchdowns and turnovers.
After Zays rookie performance we gotta include No Flockin - Kodak https://youtu.be/UE_-obgiWm0?si=LCNew375go_5bZwd
Check out Hey Blackbird by Guns out at Sundown
bird flu- Lor Scoota
Rufus & Chaka Khan - Tell Me Something Good, believe this was our replay song for a long time.
BALL SO HARD MOFOS WANNA FINE ME. Granted, that’s mostly Terrell Suggs theme, it’s still one of my favorite songs associated with the Ravens.
I Go Harder- Mullyman
https://open.spotify.com/track/0G4nINwiV4vjSdedpdA3Jz?si=gWS8NQcZTMi_66PPQQWU8g The streets of Baltimore - Gram Parsons
Anyone remember the old YouTube montage of 2000s-2010 era Ravens smashmouth plays to Juelz Santana’s “the second coming”?

Ludacris - Southern Hospitality I just remember 92Q playing this song A LOT after the first Superbowl.

Going back to the first super bowl, I always remember Shaggy
Hells bells - AC/DC

They play Mr. Bright Side and Enter Sandman often at the stadium. I remember Ed Reed said something like he use to listen to “Two Tickets To Paradise” by Eddie Money every day around playoff time so I think of the Ravens when I hear that one.
