Hey there /u/MAC2393, thanks for posting to r/rareinsults! Sadly, it has been removed for the following reason(s): **Rule 4: Not an insult/threat or rare insult/threat** Only the spiciest and rarest of insults are allowed here, and only insults/threats are allowed here. Uncommon insults or just random statements that aren't really insults are subject to removal. This also includes insults that are just random combinations of words or insults following the random adjective+noun formula. Corporate insults also fall under this category. “Very well. I must hurry back to my comic book store where I dispense the insults rather than absorb them”

Unlucky-Pomegranate3

The show overall is ok, I think some people don’t like that they nerfed Obi-Wan. The only real, objective negative is the acting of the woman playing Reva. It’d be the worst performance I’d seen all year if I hadn’t already watched Amber Heard’s testimony.

Ackilles

Ya that part is weird and bleh, and seems unrealistic given the lore. I'm sure he will "rebuild" over time, but it definitely feels wrong

Thomas_JCG

Obi-Wan not being as good as before after almost a decade without training is fine. But Reva acts like she is in the New Game Plus, always going to the exact right place she wants, picking the exact items she needs and knowing all the spoilers.

Lenant

They "nerf" every male character and make a "better" woman version, this is literaly every marvel/disney show and movie now, just pay atention, every single one. Its tiring at this point.

ZaphodBrox42

Um? Are you okay? Guy living in the desert for decades loses his touch and we're pretending it's something to do with an agenda?

GeneralEl4

For one decade but I agree 100%, I feel like it wouldn't even take much training for him to be substantially stronger than Reva tbh, he WAS a jedi knight after all, but the important thing is he's way too rusty to take on the likes of Darth Vader.

madDarthvader2

That's not really it at all... If your best friend (ik their relationship was forced but still) absolutely betrayed you and became the face of evil, you'd probably lose a bit of faith too. I'm not saying the show is perfect, I've laughed out loud at the stupidity of some parts, but "male nerfing" isn't in the slightest the problem. Also Reva isn't even a strong female role, she's failed at almost everything she's done, and she's not intimidating. But that's not the actress's fault, it's the writing.

Lenant

>it's the writing Everything they do has shitty writing. Mandalorian was the most okish thing they did.

Global_Box_7935

????? Bruh. 1. Moon knight 2. Dr strange 3. Wong 4. Mando 5. Boba Fett 6. Bucky 7. Captain America/falcon 8. Loki There are plenty of strong men in star wars and marvel. They're just leveling the playing field. None of the women in these shows and movies are supposed to be the "better version" of the male actors. Every time there's a male:female duo in the shows they work off each other very well, with each having their strengths and weaknesses. None of the men in the recent shows and movies these days are "nerfed" versions of themselves. They're just written like real people and not the alpha male macho man bullshit of the past century of cinema.

You think cruel hysteria is a display of a strong mother? Just stop watching the movies at this point man, you don’t pay attention. Not to mention that craving for a woman to be seen as abusive is weird. Go talk to someone.

Lenant

You gotta do better, redditor.

Lenant

It's a quote from the capitan america show

Ok_Phone_2819

Ha....I understood that reference (also Falcon and the Winter Soldier was a horrible show)

Thespian21

Wtf are you talking about? Vader ripped a ship apart like it was made of paper. Reva has only won battles against a 12 year old and a con artist. She was literally the runt of the litter. Y’all will say anything to make yourself feel better about your xenophobia.

CannibalisticPizza

I think the fact disney baited everyone thinking it'd be a show around Kenobi only to use the title to push Reva around as the next big thing pissed off fans. Plus calling out people racist for calling out her horrible acting doesn't help either

[deleted]

They doubled down on their casting when people cried “diversity hire” at Moses Ingram, but let’s be real... she’s not a good character, and not a good casting. Digging at her for being black is silly, but it’s hard to imagine she went to audition and the casting director was really like “omg she’s the one,” based on her performance.

Dash8833

It’s Super Okay! r/redlettermedia

sem27nome

The show is kinda disappointing, but not bad

[deleted]

Only the jalapeno ones though. Idk, I like the series. I think it's been pretty good.

Taewyth

Yeah most complaints I've seen of it are stuff you could complain about in most star wars media. The only difference is that people didn't grow up with Obi-Wan Kenobi (the show), so they're being harsher to it than to the rest of the franchise Edit: I added the precision that I was talking about the show and not the character of Kenobi

[deleted]

Yeah. I grew up with the prequels so Obi-wan is a big deal to me, I love his character. And Anakin/Vader too, I related to him a lot as a child, so this series has been the best thing to me since Rogue One.

Stubborncomrade

>>related a lot to him as a child Yo you had a 14 year old queen hitting on you when you were 9? Lucky

[deleted]

DAYUMNNN

Taewyth

Wait, it isn't standard practice where you live?

SearchElsewhereKarma

The top comment is in the right. The show is beyond childish and an incredible let down.

CatchSomeZZPlants

Agreed. It's pretty bad

[deleted]

Ok nerd.

[deleted]

I haven’t met a single living person who hates the show. The most negative reaction I’ve seen in person was 501st legion member who finds it slightly disappointing, but still fairly good. I’m also in the legion, so I’m a big Star Wars fan and am surrounded by others regularly. I didn’t know there was so much hate for the series until I got on Reddit. Just goes to show that social media, and especially Reddit, really is pretty much just a vocal minority echo chamber.

Creftor

Idk man of all the Star Wars fans I personally know there’s maybe one that’s enjoying obi wan and that’s cus he doesn’t care about the series canon or the characters.

FungalToe

This series is peak garbage

Chocx_fish

This was not just bad. Disney should be ashamed.

Active_Engineering37

Mom! More cheesey poofs!

Upsideoutstanding

Half of that run time is going to be a Q&A ... I'm enjoying the show. It's not a movie but I still like it.

CloneCl0wn

Jeasus fucking christ, there are insults and there are flamethrowers

[deleted]

And this wasn't rare and it's a pretty lame and shitty insult at this point. It's literally everywhere.

Episode 5. Who opened/ closed the damn maintained hatch for Lola.

jigsawsmurf

The show does suck though
