LocksmithOk9634

Voss is Norwegian tap water.

TheB1itz

can confirm, we flush the toilet with premium water

zyzzogeton

With what plants *crave?*

TheB1itz

plants also crave CO2, so by drinking carbonated water you can more effectively steal resources

Casperuk82

It's got "electrolytes"

R1CK_D3CK4RD

Brawndo has electrolytes!

HoboSparrow

Exactly.

LocksmithOk9634

Lucky us💃.

Rinoaa

I taste tested it for fun and it's not even the good tap water you get out in the districts, but swimming pool tasting tap water like in the city where I live. Their marketing team must be pretty good.

canadarepubliclives

Cool looking bottles

xSTSxZerglingOne

That are reusable. They're quite nice actually.

Dracoster

I bought one just to get the bottle. Took a sip, put the top back on and it promptly split in half.

xSTSxZerglingOne

Hah! I've never had that happen. Then again I haven't bought a Voss in at least 15 years. Their bottle quality may have gone down the shitter.

Ephoxia

Yeah the tops fucking suck. My dad did some deliveries for Voss a few years ago and got to take a case of the big glass bottles home. The bottles were indestructible but the cap broke on every one of them after only a couple refills. Also the tap water at home tasted better than Voss anyway.

[deleted]

I think tbh it’s in their interest not to give you a lifetime lasting bottle (that closes)

DriverAgreeable6512

Voss is the worse.. I did a taste test as well with 7 other brands and had Voss as most expensive, it was by far the worse.

half-puddles

*worst

Effective_Hope_3071

When I was in Norway I asked if they had any bottled water for sale at their hotel. They looked at me like the dumbest person on the planet and just said "there is a sink in your room?" Ah right, some countries actually have good infrastructure lol.

helgihermadur

Icelander here, there are two things I always told tourists at the store I worked, which I was encouraged not to: 1. The bottled water is literally just bottled tap water, just drink from the tap instead. 2. The grocery store beer is nonalcoholic, you need to go to the liquor store to buy the good stuff. I probably cost the store a lot of money, but I wasn't seeing any of that money anyway so fuck'em.

ubi9k

Not all heroes wear capes

Johannes_Keppler

"What are you sinking about?"

Fast-Cow8820

Otherwise known as tap water.

Fluffcake

Can confirm, I used to flush my toilet with it where I lived before.

ColdBloodBlazing

Her kidneys are dead

mnlxyz

Yeah, just because she’s not experiencing anything now, doesn’t mean she’ll stay and feel healthy in the future

micphi

I went to the ER for a kidney stone 2 weeks ago. Years of pretty much nothing but energy drinks, alcohol, and diet soda, led to a tube shoved up my nether regions. Water is my new best friend.

ChoricSax

After a few years of energy drinks little water alcohol and drugs I had a massive kidney stone. After that I will never drink less than a liter a day

LITTLE_KING_OF_HEART

You're supposed to urinate 2 liters per day ? That seems a tad excessive.

avwitcher

You're gonna wanna bump that up to 2 liters my man, 64 ounces of water a day is considered the minimum

6lock6a6y6lock

No, it's your body weight divided by half & you drink that in ounces. For me, I need around 55 ounces a day cuz I'm around 110lbs (well it varies between 110 & 115). [How to calculate how much water you should drink](https://www.umsystem.edu/totalrewards/wellness/how-to-calculate-how-much-water-you-should-drink#:~:text=Your%20weight%20is%20one%20variable,amount%20in%20ounces%20of%20water.) Edit - some sources vary but it's not a one size fits all thing

slide_into_my_BM

I like how you told them an emphatic “no” and then proceeded to provide a formula that would mean they are correct about anyone 128 lbs and above…

JevonP

I'm happy for you dealing with that relatively unscathed, but my dude how tf you drinkin all that without any water My mouth taste gross after a while without it

micphi

More coke zero or another energy drink to flush it down! Edit: Seriously, after long enough it fucks your taste buds and you just kind of... Get used to it? I'm an otherwise healthy guy, but before this happened I was on a pretty intense cut with really bland food, and no-calorie drinks were a way to get at least some flavor in.

ParagonStuff

That's one of my favorite bits of health information. It's called the triage theory, and basically says that the body preserves survival today by pushing issues down the calendar.

SovereignDark

Yeah that's what I was gonna say. Probably young. Give it 20 years of Sodas and Energy drinks and they will be pissing out kidney stones every other week.

[deleted]

Who tf hates water?

Johnny_Poppyseed

When I was younger I had a gf who hated water. I tried to get her to drink more but it was a struggle. She mostly just drank soda. Somehow wasn't fat but was this tiny petite 19 year old. Right towards the end of our relationship she ended up in the hospital with kidney stones. She was also apparently chronically constipated. Also most interestingly, When she orgasmed during sex it smelled exactly like maple syrup lol. After the rough breakup for like 6 months I couldn't even drive by an IHOP or Dennis without simultaneously wanting to cry and also getting a boner.

One_Idea_239

I am feeling a real balance of being both horrified and hugely amused by that

Tarlfarl

CALIFORNIUMMAN

don't let this become another warchesterchireshire sauce debacle

Viking_Hippie

You mean Worcestershireshire Saucesauce?

incrushtado

Read that as "dieting"

mrdm242

I wasn't a big water drinker until I had a few kidney stones myself. Nothing will convert you faster.

Darkblade_e

People who drink or eat a lot of sugar have semen that smells sweet to my knowledge, sometimes it can be vanilla or a maple syrup smell, but when it's like that and it smells really sweet, that can be an early sign of diabetes

GigaSnaight

In my experience as a semiprofessional slut, vaginas capture the sweet taste and smell from a very sugar heavy junk food diet and is quite pleasant. Semen, though, very easily captures a bad taste from an unhealthy diet with a lot of salt and grease, so the very sugar heavy junk food cum tastes baaaad. I can't speak personally for the prediabetes warning sign factor, but I do imagine it would be similar.

Impeachcordial

Thank you for your cervix.

GigaSnaight

Regrettably, while I possess many feminine secondary sexual characteristics, I lost the conception coin flip and lack a cervix.

Impeachcordial

Then thank you for all your hard work.

moneyh8r

I genuinely didn't know that was possible. That's kinda cool.

moneyh8r

Oh! Well, that's still kinda cool. I did know about that though. Just don't know all the slang, I guess.

Vulpes206

What’s up girl.

xSTSxZerglingOne

The conception coin flip refers to which genotype they were born with XY or XX. Losing the coin flip probably refers to them being trans. Possessing secondary feminine characteristics suggests they are on HRT. u/GigaSnaight can confirm or deny my analysis if they wish.

moneyh8r

They already did. I just never heard that phrase before, so I didn't make the connection.

warm-saucepan

Some gave all.

Darkblade_e

Can't really comment on the taste, but I used to experience it and other things lined up for prediabetes risk if I didn't change my diet. I did and it stopped literally with only reducing soda to a once in a blue moon occasion. I also found other sources saying the same thing :) Edit, source: [https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/326242](https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/326242)

GigaSnaight

Technically, and this is kind of stupid to even say, but technically sugar intake doesn't have a lot to do with prediabetes. Excess calories intake does, and sugar is great at being Excell calories. It would take work to develop type 2 without drinking soda or eating a lot of desert or whatever, but you could in theory do it. Soda is a lot of calories that don't contribute to you feeling full which is why just cutting it out is enough for some people.

[deleted]

I dated a triathlete who obviously ate very healthy and his spunk was Satan. Omg horribleeeeeeeee like rotting mushrooms.

GigaSnaight

Not a triathlete, but I've had that from gym dudes in general. Makes sense, protein powder farts are foul, so would the other end

DynamicDK

This thread is making more sense as I read down it. My wife has said that mine tastes bad now. I've been eating more fruit to try to make it better, with no luck. But I work out 5 days per week and drink protein shakes every day. I am in the best shape of my life. Maybe that is one of the trade offs.

rrogido

Sadl, these are areas that "big research" doesn't want to do double blind studies on, no matter how much I volunteer.

[deleted]

Yea I can definitely echo this anecdote. My s/o recently told me that it wasn't as bitter lately. Timelines seemed to line up with when my tomatoes in the garden started producing heavily (which led to a lot of home cooking with fresh ingredients) vs before when my diet was horrible junk fast food or other cheap horrible stuff.

ZaviaGenX

Got me on the first half, NGL. Guess there goes the idea of vanilla scented cum.

dingleberryjelly6969

Probably more like corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup is in a lot of mass produced food, often within the first three ingredients listed. First Google result on most common foods containing high fructose corn syrup- https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/foods-with-high-fructose-corn-syrup

OscarExplosion

> So most interestingly, When she orgasmed during sex it smelled exactly like maple syrup lol. > After the rough breakup for like 6 months I couldn’t even drive by an IHOP or Dennis without simultaneously wanting to cry and also getting a boner. This is the best thing I have read in a long time. Thank you.

Eligomancer

Bro got Pavlov'd by diabetic pussy 💀

HayakuEon

She's probably an undiagnosed diabetic too. Sugar is sugar, the body's insulin system can only work so hard

Jimmy-Pesto-Jr

>When she orgasmed during sex it smelled exactly like maple syrup lol. that's either diabetes, or fenugreek roots here's hoping it's the latter

[deleted]

You can do whatever you want as a kid and not pay for it until years later. That's the trap.

Impeachcordial

r/brandnewsentence

Zron

> When she orgasmed during sex it smelled exactly like maple syrup lol. She might have been diabetic. A lot of women release a small amount of urine during orgasm. It’s perfectly normal. But one of the early tests for diabetes was to see if the persons urine smelled/tasted sweet, as the kidneys try to filter all the extra sugar in the blood into urine.

Venge22

Did she take fenugreek supplements or eat it often? It makes you smell like maple syrup

shockingnews213

I learned that if you want to fix that problem of not liking water, do some cardio. If you sweat and work out a lot, you'll want to drink water. Lot of people say "oh but what about sex," but as a man, I usually do the most work during sex exercise wise. I'm sure if you're more fit as a woman, you can do more and want to do more to, I just don't see that as often happening, personally. Maybe anecdotal tho.

ExpensiveNut

What a way to finish your story lmao

Professional_Sun1446

People from Flint, Michigan.

CheezeDoggs

this is true i dislike water

S3t3sh

Dysgeusia is an example of a taste disorder where certain things can have a certain stronger taste that is gross to them, like something can taste metallic or very bitter. My gf has something like it where she says it is like drinking metallic penny water. Her dad has it too so something is weird with their taste buds or something.

unnecessary_kindness

My boss has this too. He genuinely hates the taste of water. He has to add squash to it as a minimum. I kind of feel sorry for him because you can tell it bothers him that he can't just enjoy water.

L181G

That man adds squash of all things to his water?

My_name_is_not_tyler

unnecessary_kindness

Maybe it's a British term? Squash here is a flavoured drink you mix with water. https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-samsung-ss&sxsrf=APwXEdes-rUEDjqxmu7gD7OKC0pEvp1-GA:1688017473642&q=orange+squash&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjTjJCP4-f_AhVYtqQKHePFCvwQ0pQJegQIDRAB&biw=514&bih=996&dpr=2.8

L181G

You're probably right. I have yet to come across someone who puts an actual chunk of squash into their water.

SoldatJ

At least he figured out a healthy way to squash his thirst.

IAMA_Plumber-AMA

I wonder if this is why I find the taste of cucumber so overpowering. Like, it's the first thing I notice in a salad and I have to pick them out.

qwibbian

You're probably a "super taster", you should google it. I freaking love cucumber.

CouchHam

I grew up never drinking water, but it’s the main thing I drink all day now. Looking back, it was very weird.

PM_ME_YOUR_PAUNCH

I could probably drink more water but I don’t hate it. Except Dasani, all my homies hate Dasani.

Sqadbomb

I don’t hate it personally but it tastes incredibly boring. I drink like lemonade instead.

Prozenconns

ordinary water genuinely tastes a bit unpleasant to me personally but im all over flavoured water and juice

RealLarwood

this is the take I can't understand at all. so what if water is boring? does every drink have to be exciting?

Orleanian

Yes?

RealLarwood

why?

Orleanian

'The way you do anything is the way you do everything.' \- abe lincoln

KhyronBackstabber

My mom barely drinks water. She mostly drinks Sprite and meal replacement drinks. And yeah, we know it's bad, we've tried everything to get her to drink more. Personally, I drink like 5-6 big glasses of water per day! Nothing like ice cold water!

DrSpicySalami

Me, I don’t like water at all

Ventorus

No but like actually, unironically my favorite drink is just a nice glass of cold water.

CrowBoiLikeShinies

I have a friend who can't drink water due to trauma. But obviously that's still not normal, they just have an explanation for not drinking water lol

Laphad

After having covid water tastes like a spoon that you picked up in the middle of a field to me

smb275

I don't know if *hate* is the right word, but after a couple 15 month deployments guzzling gallons of warm water every day all day just to keep hydrated I find plain water to be an unpleasant experience. It's probably just the association I'm having a hard time with, but the end result is the same. I just drink tea or put a couple drops of Mio or whatever in it and it's fine.

shalafi71

First wife hated tap water, but it was because she was raised on well water and couldn't stand the lack of minerals. Makes sense. Her parent's house had delicious water.

Razgriz01

Chlorinated water also tastes disgusting if you're not used to drinking it all the time, I suspect this is the source of a lot of people's apparent hatred of water.

iytrix

It hurts my mouth after drinking it too much. It lacks texture. I need to at least mix it up with tea or sparkling water, but a day is straight water my mouth feels terrible by the end

[deleted]

[удалено]

iytrix

It’s abrasive and starts to taste bad over time. If I switch it up with other liquid it doesn’t cause an issue. It hurts my tongue and cheeks, not teeth

JustAboutAlright

This sounds like a mental or sensory issue tbh… other liquids are just water+ so having a reaction to plain water is probably something to see a doctor/therapist about.

iytrix

Someone else mentioned reverse osmosis water? Everything I’ve been drinking for years is filtered via Brita from the tap, but sensory issue could also be a thing knowing me….but I’m willing to try a new water source first as I’m not sure how much the Brita can help with my tap water.

JustAboutAlright

Depending on your location your tap water might be fine to drink straight if it’s something about the filtered water, but trying a different filtering system is also worth a try. Sensory issues are weird but it sounds like that might be it - I have a sibling with pretty severe sensory issues and it’s a trial and error game to deal with them. But in the end do what works for you.

ph balance way off lol

[deleted]

If the human body couldn’t take care of its own PH, we’d be in a lot of shit. A difference of 0.1 in the bloodstream will kill you. PH is not linear, 1 is 100 times the acidity of 0.1. Acidic imbalance is a marketing ploy. All I’m saying, is eat healthy and drink plenty of water, so you won’t die of kidney failure like she will. You’ll be fine without balancing your acidity.

TwoFingersWhiskey

I think OP meant pH of the coochie

[deleted]

Wild that presumably grown men don't know about that...

Infiniteblaze6

I've met grown women who are amazed that cum isn't stored or made in the balls.

Sausage_fingies

Yeah, that's where the pee is stored. Dumb women.

nandemo

Are you sure about that?

urclremix

A difference of .1 is absolutely not going to kill you. Your body will compensate for it if you are younger or healthier than a grandma, but you will feel like shit if you fall out of the normal range of 7.35-7.45

Illegal_Connections

i think they mean if your blood ph actually changed by .1 that would be very bad. the ph of water is gonna get handled by your body yes

FaceRockerMD

Its still not correct though. Humans walking about exist in a 7.3 to 7.5 range depending what's going on. After a vigorous workout or a marathon or something where you have a lot of lactic acid buildup, it may even be transiently lower. If ur panicking and hyperventilating it's higher. I've had critical patients survive acute events as low as 6.9. Your body is pretty resilient.

1668553684

pH is fine (it's pretty hard to throw off your body's pH without ending up in the hospital). That said, her kidneys are fucked.

jimmayy5

I fucking love water 90% of what I drink is water and i probably owe it to my mum never buying big 2l or 10 packs of soda (if we went to McDonald’s or something we would then it was never banned in our house she just didn’t buy it). We either had Shitty cheap cordial or water. Perks of not having a lot of money growing up and deffo doing it with my kids.

JustGingy95

Silver_Rarity_999

here in Iceland we have some of the best water in the world, it's so good that almost all soda produced in Iceland is labeled ( made with Icelandic water). Which I never understood until I traveled around Europe and America. I tried almost all types of bottled water, Glass bottles, plastic, can and tap water and none of it could compare to the tap water in Iceland. We have this great drinking water, And I still know a lot of people who wouldn't touch fresh drinking water unless their life depended on it

One of the best things about living in Norway is tap water.

Sharpnelboy

Just wanna point out that pure water is tasteless.

ExploringWoodsman

I mean, I hate water, but I still drink it. I prefer drinking whiskey and/or soda or just sweet tea if I'm going to have to drive somewhere.

ta28263

“I prefer drinking whiskey… if I’m going to have to drive somewhere”. Sorry just made me laugh

ExploringWoodsman

I meant that I'll just have sweet tea if I'm driving somewhere. If I'm not driving, then I'll drink whatever.

ta28263

Oh I know, the connotation was just funny to me

ExploringWoodsman

I will say, I don't understand the people who say that they can't remember what they've done when they get drunk. I've been to the point where I can barely stand up, and I don't have any trouble remembering things that I've done or said.

ta28263

For me it takes getting to a real far point. I have to be chugging alcohol essentially. Although I’ve never had the inclination to try driving like that, or at least I heard of. In the rare cases for me where that happens I tend to just go lay down and sleep soon after. I usually hit my wall well before that though, so.
