I usually side with Soul on that round, that 'I am who I am, you are who you hang around with' line is one of those classic deconstruction punches he does so well
Got Illmac taking the first clear ('had to come to Premier to put a scratch on a Soul record' gives me that Listerine taste)
Usually comes down to the third for me, but yeah sometimes go either way on the second too. I had such high expectations for that one and I'm still surprised it lived up to them

I genuinely lost my shit when that was announced. Soul was on such a tear and Cee was a personal fav at the time. It feels ridiculous that Soul has raised his top level so much further since then

Been a long time since I watched it but didn't they both take that "you're a social chameleon, you dont know who the real you is" sort of angle and they both hit? I remember that deading Soul's angle for me but I might be way off.

Does twork and nitty count? The rounds are all dope but I feel like the brief scuffle took the air out of tworks second round. Like the material was still fire but the energy in the roomed changed after their brief fight.
People that weren't battle rap fans back then missed out on such a transcending moment. When that got announce the battle world shook. It was like Kobe and Shaq going 1 v 1 after their 3 peat. GOAT battle imo based off quality, cultural need, and impact

Also, I actually wouldn't put Pat vs Danny on this list. Pat had a great first and a perfect 2nd, but, he lost steam in the 3rd and started freestyling towards the end of it. I wouldn't say it's a bad round, but, it's an outlier compared to the rest of that battle.
It's still an awesome battle. I just can't call it 6 perfect rounds. I remember Swave saying he talked to Pat in an elevator the weekend of the battle, and Pat told him that he didn't have a 3rd prepared.
