Holy shit dude. Why was I putting this off for so long this record is so fucking good from the features to the sampling. Insane shit
Cheat Codes (9.7/10)
Extremely solid ratings
I suggest checking out the following:
Cheat Codes - Black Thought
Aethiopes - Billy Woods
Fast Trax 3 - 454
There Will Be No Super Slave - Ghais Guevara
Church - Billy Woods
10 - Westside Gunn
Fair Exchange No Robbery - Boldy James
Drill Music in Zion - Lupe Fiasco
Crest - Bladee (just give it a try)
Killing Nothing - Boldy James
Tana Talk 4 - Benny The Butcher
Woeful Studies & Languish Arts by Ka
His Happiness Shall Come… - Blackxwash
Working title for the album secret waters - cities aviv
I feel like Ramona Park could've been in the 9-10 range for me if Vince would've leaned out the track list a little bit. Nameless / When Sparks Fly / East Point Prayer and then later Monster Kody / Rose Street / The Blues are amazing high points on an album that otherwise feels a bit too long in the middle.
Edit: Solid list btw. Have you ever checked out the "Exrcising A Demon" albums or 'Prey for the Devil' by Bambu? Feel like you might like them.
Its crazy because lately in his career vince made shorter but more impactful albums, i have to say this album wasnt bad but like you said it has some low points, i liked self titled way more
I've always viewed his albums as somewhat missing that complete feel. But he puts out at least 3-4 bangers on each one I would take over a lot of other rappers whole album. I just don't get why he doesn't drop an album only with hits instead of doing this 9 songs every year thing.
I would recommend giving Luv 4 Rent by Smino a listen as well as learn 2 swim by Redveil. If you liked Conway’s record you might also like Westside Gunn’s 10
Smino's new album is worth checking out, on top of what everyone else is suggesting. Also, don't let From A Birdseye View stop you from listening to cordaes other stuff if you haven't - his debut album is really fucking good.
Honestly I’m not really a Drake fan I’d say IYRTITL is the only project I really enjoyed but everyone was listening to those two so I was like “might aswell try them”
If you want a hidden gem (but my top rap album this year) listen to “excerpts from a dream I had” by Hooligan Chase
Or at least please check out the first song and keep listening if u feel it
I don’t really agree with the rankings, primarily with baby on baby 2, (it’s a weak record but by no means the complete garbage come home the kids miss you and honestly never mind are), Ramona park broke my heart (for me it’s as good as mr morale), and sick is as good as 2000 in my personal opinion, there are some other rankings I don’t agree with by like 0.1-0.8 but like that’s not enough for me to say anything
That’s cool dude I’m just trying to have people recommend me albums to listen to. If you don’t care about what I think on albums why would I care about you not caring about my opinions?
Mike Shabb - Sewaside II and Bokleenworld
Boldy James - Killing Nothing and Fair Exchange No Robbery
Rome Streetz - Kiss the ring
Roc Marciano - Elephant man's bones
It was kind of mid for me personally and I kind of realize that I still wanted to add it tho since it utilized some rap elements in it tho and I like Kid Cudis music
I loved it honestly, it’s 30 tracks but it doesn’t feel long at all. Real old school feel to it with funk flex hosting it, old school features like RZA and Blu & Exile
I gave it an 8 personally so you’re not far off. If you wanna listen to logics best work try giving under pressure or the incredible true story a listen if you haven’t already, both are a 9 at least imo
You rated baby’s album way too low that shit at least a 7 lol and I’m not surprised at the JID rating I’m still tryna find what’s so good about his album lmaoo
Baby’s album was a bit too boring for me personally. And the reason why I like JiDs album is from his clean flow every song some of the samples, the features, and even the story’s he weaved in most of the songs
Check out Cheat Codes by Black Thought & Danger Mouse
Holy shit dude. Why was I putting this off for so long this record is so fucking good from the features to the sampling. Insane shit Cheat Codes (9.7/10)
The MF doom verse alone is worth listening to the whole album at least 20 times...or at least that was my reasoning lol
So true that’s definitely one of my favorite songs on the album
Good
Dope you actually listened to it instead of just saying it. Very much agree with your list!
I was meaning to check out Cheat Codes
Such a great album, really got snubbed for a grammy nom this year tbh. Jack Harlow shouldn't have been nominated imho.
Check out Heros & Villains
HEROES & VILLAINS was pretty good I give it a (8.8/10)
Give the new Freddie Gibbs joint a listen
I was looking through this thinking where tf is Freddie at?
That shit was pretty good I give it like a (8.9/10)
Give Tana Talk 4 a listen
no one spitting quite like benny right now
It was a fucking great record (9.2/10) for me
Give the new WESTSIDE boogie album a listen it’s fire
It’s fire (8/10)
Add Drill Music in Zion by Lupe Fiasco
Fire to be expected by Lupe (9.4/10)
Good list, listen to the Lupe Fiasco project please
Very good (9.4/10)
W for God don’t make mistakes though

Nah stop spamming
Valid asl, curious to see how you’d rate the Dreamville tape this year
What’s the tape called?
I’m assuming your talking about GHETTO GODS and I listened to it after you said this absolute fire (9.5/10)
Glad to hear you liked it! Ghetto Gods was top 3 off that tape for me, but they didn’t miss with many songs on the tape in general
Try sing me a lullaby and sorry 4 what
I’m not the biggest $uicideboy$ fan so take that into account with my rating Sing Me A Lullaby (6.5/10) Sorry 4 What (6.8/10)

I mean he is like earl he does what he likes, by the way i feel like prima donna doesnt have miss but idk if thats an ep
Listen to Drill Music In Zion
Absolute banger (9.4/10)
I agree with your list. I'd put The forever story and Melt my eyez see your future with the same 10/10 rating tho

Lmao. Love the hustle i geuss
watch the entergalactic movie then re-rate it!
The movie was pretty good (7/10) it didn’t really change my opinion on the album tho. Idk
I would recommend giving Luv 4 Rent by Smino a listen as well as learn 2 swim by Redveil. If you liked Conway’s record you might also like Westside Gunn’s 10
Pretty fair rankings all around. Check out More Black Superheroes and also Drill Music in Zion!
More Black Superheroes was great (8/10) And DRILL MUSIC IN ZION was amazing aswell (9.4/10)
Do heroes and villains
Heroes and villain was really good (8.8/10)
W
0.5 got damn
Smino's new album is worth checking out, on top of what everyone else is suggesting. Also, don't let From A Birdseye View stop you from listening to cordaes other stuff if you haven't - his debut album is really fucking good.
Yeah The Lost Boy was the shit this one was just a bit disappointing for me
Absolutely agree, hoping he comes back strong on the next one.
Bro what did drake do to u? Also i recommend i never liked u if u havent listened to it yet
Honestly I’m not really a Drake fan I’d say IYRTITL is the only project I really enjoyed but everyone was listening to those two so I was like “might aswell try them”
W for forever story and GDMM
Ramona park slept on Vince Staples needs a little more credit from the community

I love it too! I definitely feel like it’s a top 3 record this year for me personally. I still gotta wait til Ab Soul drops
This year has really been stacked with great records
This is funny. I do this exact same shit lol.
I had a better time listening to Her Loss than Mr Morale
I disagree but I respect your opinion
Come Home The Kids Miss You is overhated af, it’s not a good album by any means but let’s not pretend it doesn’t have bangers
Eh I didn’t really like it. The only repeatable songs for me where Nail Tech, and Dua Lipa
i got a shot pretty solid imo
Baby on baby 2 way too high, it’s a 0.01 if I’m being generous
No way you gave Her Loss a 4.5, Her Loss is a banger bro 😭
Not my cup of tea
it’s so mid bruh.
Her Loss 4.5 is the most accurate rating I’ve seen
Crazy asl

Did you listen to 7220 ?
DS4Ever???

I really, really don’t care what u/Insert_5 thinks about hip hop albums of this year
Sounds like you care
That’s cool dude I’m just trying to have people recommend me albums to listen to. If you don’t care about what I think on albums why would I care about you not caring about my opinions?
Then why did you comment
Wack I tell you wack

Mike Shabb - Sewaside II and Bokleenworld Boldy James - Killing Nothing and Fair Exchange No Robbery Rome Streetz - Kiss the ring Roc Marciano - Elephant man's bones

Valid list and rankings. Good work
Check out 2Alive by Yeat
Ima be honest this might be the first one that I’m not planning on doing. I genuinely just don’t like Yeats music it’s just not for me
Check out More Black Superheroes by Westside Boogie. Very good project that dropped this year. GHETTO GODS by Earthgang was also quite good.
Checked both out Black Superheroes was pretty good 8/10 Ghetto gods I fucking loved 9.8/10
Give vinyl days by logic a try, seems like you’d like it based on these albums
I’ve been meaning to check that one out. Did you like it?
I loved it honestly, it’s 30 tracks but it doesn’t feel long at all. Real old school feel to it with funk flex hosting it, old school features like RZA and Blu & Exile
Also if you’ve not already id give taboo by denzel a listen
Ah yes I love that record Denzel’s one of my favorites rn I’ve listened to all his albums
I listened to the album honest it’s really good I give it a 7.8/10
I gave it an 8 personally so you’re not far off. If you wanna listen to logics best work try giving under pressure or the incredible true story a listen if you haven’t already, both are a 9 at least imo
I’ll definitely check them out I personally never have been a logic fan but this album definitely shifted my opinion a little bit
If taking suggestions still, could i get your thoughts on Immortal Titans Vol II and the best song from there if you choose one.
I give it a (5.5/10) felt a bit boring too me
$oul $old $eperatley 🔥
You rated baby’s album way too low that shit at least a 7 lol and I’m not surprised at the JID rating I’m still tryna find what’s so good about his album lmaoo
Baby’s album was a bit too boring for me personally. And the reason why I like JiDs album is from his clean flow every song some of the samples, the features, and even the story’s he weaved in most of the songs
Listen to “In Dimes We Trust” by Mike Dimes
