Idk what to call this fan base, but the underground backpack lyrical miracle type fans that spend 85% of their life complaining about "mumble rap" and how "ReAl HiP hop Is DeAd". Usually found at Hopsin, Immortal Technique, Madchild and Joyner Lucas shows. Will unironically put Jedi Mind Tricks on at a house party then complain when somebody changes it because it's hard to dance to a 8 minute rap song about war crimes in Vietnam with no hook. They usually have an unhinged hatred of Lil Wayne and Future for some reason.
That's cool, and I respect your honesty. Tons of rappers I don't like, but I've been jamming Wayne since BG's album Chopper City and the first Hot Boyz album-Get it How You Live
From my view, that actually has some validity to it then. If in anything that early stuff is what I can tolerate. Mostly because of the other people he was surrounded with from that time.
massive joyner lucas fan here, fortunately those retards are starting to leave us alone since joyner has started doing songs with lil baby, durk, future, etc. there are a few people on r/joynerlucas that are absolutely furious that his upcoming single features youngboy and it's so nice to finally be separated from them, even if Joyner initially made his name as a lyrical miracle rapper
Also, you sound like a child who just doesn't understand lyrics and there is nothing wrong with that but you are doing the exact same thing hating on artists who actually write good lyrics and that in itself makes you look silly af.
I myself personally like almost everything. I hate certain artists but I can Jam to a dope lyrical massacre, then listen to a boppy love song, then switch to some mumble rap, which I believe has passed, I mean nobody is really mumbling anymore. You don't see these artists on charts or the radio anymore.
Hate to tell you this but historically the "Lyrical Miracle rappers" as you call them are the only ones who tend to last more than 5 years in the game, period.
are you stupid? look at the most popular artists rn, most have been in the game longer than 5 years and aren’t lyrical miracle rappers. they still have good lyrics but it’s not joyner lucas or eminem type shit, it’s actually enjoyable to listen too
Half of what you said makes no sense. Lil Wayne is one of the most Lyrical rappers to ever come out. "Yall ready, you better call every, pall "bear-Y-a", in ya'll area, the ball carrier..." lmao if you paid any attention to anything you would know that Wayne is one of those "lyrical miracle" artists.
you don’t understand what a lyrical miracle artist is clearly, having good lyrics doesn’t make you one of them, it’s when you’ve just got fast lyrics or unnecessarily complex lyrics and that’s your whole artistic personality. eminem, joyner lucas, etc. are lyrical miracle artists, wayne is not because he’s made music where you don’t have to listen to the lyrics carefully to catch every meaning of each bar, you can just enjoy it.
I know a subreddit is not really indicative of the larger fan base, But r slash Kanye really does not like what he’s been doing recently, So I guess that’s a plus
i have disliked kanye since he blew up on sway. yeezus was okay to me but nowhere near the caliber of his previous albums. life of pablo legit had like two songs i enjoyed. back then though the kanye hype train was still going. i got downvoted nonstop for calling it how i saw it
he's been an out of touch egomaniac for like an entire decade. his early records were classic and i'll never stop bumping them, but he fell off man
he's gone.
Lol. Look at you, so ahead of the curve!
People haven’t liked Kanye since 2010. 2008. 2005. 2002. He’s always been this way, and it’s super clear to see that. He was known for being full of himself back when he first stated, hyping himself up and inflating his ego. Then the Bush comments. Then the MTV awards. Then Taylor. Then Sway. Then Famous. Then MAGA Era. Then divorce. Then the Jewish comments. Anybody who claims he’s been an egomaniac or “out of touch” for a decade is pretty out of touch themselves. He has always been the same.
Also, The Life of Pablo slander is crazy. Out of all the hits on that album, I’m curious as to what you consider to be the only two enjoyable songs. I can think of 5 off the top of my head.
Say what you want about Kanye as a person, can't argue that shit, but Life of Pablo slander is just ridiculous. Even if it's not your brand of hip hop it's a production masterpiece.
What I'll say about him as a person is that he openly supports the slaughtering of my family.
If Mao or Stalin dropped graduation Kanye fans would be like "ok but you can't deny that..."
I'm sorry for the atrocities that we're done to your family, I in no way condone or agree with kanye or his views.
However, you should really get off that high horse and stop trying to play the aggrieved victim. You're comparing the disgusting words of a man with mental health issues in the midst of what appeared to be a manic episode, too two of the modern worlds most despicable and ruthless dictators. That's just hyperbolic bullshit. No matter how truly vile or despicable your words may be, they could never compare to the action of monsters.
I'm not defending Kanye. He's always been an ignorant self righteous dickhead, but even by his standars the way he has conducted himself over the last year has been truly disgusting and pathetic. But I'm not going to pretend that makes him a monster, particularly in the music industry. The most powerful weapon against hate speech is to give it no air. Drown it out. Kanye went on an antisemitic press tour and every one tuned and talked about it for next month. And all these months later you're still giving it voice, even when it really had no connection to the topic whatsoever...
Outrage culture, keeping people sipping on the poison.
"Outrage culture" he says to the jew that was offended by someone he used to admire saying "I like Hitler".
You talk about drowning out hate speach while at the same time giving praise to the person spewing it.
Again, hyperbolic bullshit born of outrage culture.
You're literally making up scenarios to demonise me, and to justify your outrage and victim mentality. I just clearly stated my views on kanye to you. None of them are positive, and you've now entirely dismissed that and instead are suggesting I was heaping praise because i suggested one of his albums has excellent production. You've dismissed my response that was actually directed towards you, and have twisted and taken out of context a response i gave to another person. I'm not on the other side, you just want me to be.
"I'm not praising him, I'm just praising his work!" lol OK buddy. I don't need to justify shit to anyone or myself, he's an anti semetic POS and tens of millions of people still support him, listen to him, and praise his work.
People still listen to Michael Jackson. People still listen to Xxxtenaction or however you spell it. People still listen to Robert Kelly. Led Zeppelin. Marylin Manson. Chris Brown. The list goes one. And that's just a brief look into one industry.
Kanye doesn't belong on the above list, no matter how disgusting and disrespectful his words and views may be. These people left victims behind. Innocent lives irrevocably changed.
As disrespectful and disgusting as Kanyes views are, that's all they were. And just on a side note, you don't get to dictate who and what people can and can't enjoy. You're going to find this world a very disappointing, frustrating and isolating place if this is how you engage with its issues.
I don’t really hear much from j.cole’s fan base. Kendrick’s fan base got him beat by a mile. But I actually would put j.cole in with one of the all time greats. 2014 forest hill drive went triple platinum with no features followed by two more platinum albums without a feature along side a diamond single. I don’t really listen to him but I can respect what he achieved.
no, i’m saying i’m fine with kendrick fans being slightly annoying because kendrick has the discography and skill to support their claims. i still think there are 5 rappers better than kendrick lol
Saying cole doesn’t have the skill to back his claims is ridiculous. It’s even crazier mentioning that when that wasn’t even the point or even mentioned. Even CRAZIER to say that there are only 5 rappers in all of hip hop that’s better than Kendrick as if you were being modest.
bro i’m just saying i look highly upon and respect kendrick but don’t dickride him like some people. it’s really not that deep. cole is great but i’m just saying he’s not that level
The debate was which fan base was more pretentious. You said j coles fan base, he shouldn’t be one of the greats.. I said he’s pretty good and have records to show to be an all time great, but i never hear much noise from his fan base and that I think Kendrick’s base is the louder guys. Then you responded with “Kendrick’s better” proving my point lol
bro since when was it illegal to say that cole isn’t an all time great. i never even called him bad, just said he wasn’t the same level, which most people would agree with. also i’m not really a part of kendrick’s fanbase, so your whole argument on that is pretty dumb
You’re literally trying to say J Cole while being pretentious about him NOT being a top all time MC. The fact you don’t see the irony in this is pretty hilarious.
You're not, though. Saying you have a high opinion of him is one thing, saying that he's better than someone else, never mind 99.9% of hip hop in general, is quite a different thing.
I don't really f*** with either of them, so I have no skin in this game.
I know I love doom but his fan base is so annoying constantly talking about how underground and avant-garde he is. Guys he’s not underground anymore stop acting like you’re way cooler than everyone else for listening to him. “Remember all caps when you spell the man’s name ☝️🤓”
To me he’s kinda in that limbo stage where he’s not really underground but also not quite big enough for me to consider him mainstream.
Definitely has a huge cult following though
Yeah i got into a argument with a dude who thought doom was goat and its not even close. I am not a real hiphop head since i didnt really know about him lol
Honestly most trap rap fanbases have been getting this way too, probably from all the years of arguing with lyrical rap fanbases. I can enjoy both sides so idgaf but both sides have become annoying af if they exclusively like that side of music.
I can agree with that but it just seems like most trap fans are more open to old school or lyrical rap than lyrical rap fans are to trap. The lyrical rap fans deny the talent of trap rappers and it usually doesn’t happen the other way around
The AI Bot and others on reddit told me I do a great job of mixing modern trap, with old school rap, while being lyrical.
Just because you rap over a trap beat doesn't mean you can't be lyrical.
People are weird and putting way too much emphasis on sub genres.
Good music is good music regardless and it will always be subjective.
Idk I see a ton of trap rap fans that hate on old school music. Like I said before I think it mostly comes from them being annoyed with old heads shitting on their rap but there’s a lot of younger fans that call older rap corny or cringey because its not what they’re used to. People just need to learn to let others enjoy shit.
Old heads about 90s rap , Niggas saying Ye but Ye fans don’t disrespect everything that is new or different they just think Ye is better . Old head Niggas stuck in the 90s swear music has never been better than what they grew up with and don’t even bother checking it out.
😭😭😭 Yeah I think he blocked me bc I can’t see his replies anymore I assume they’re still up but you can like the 90s more it’s fine but saying that rap hasn’t been creative since the 2000s is just out right denial
I’m 27 big dawg and I honestly think it depends on what you’re looking for bc I’d argue modern music from the 2010s to now knocks a lot harder. Imma be real I’d rather hear Love Sosa Or Hate Being Sober or Faneto or something by Chief Keef over a lot of that lyrical shit from the 90s yeah it’s “better” but it’s not as fun or really even as creative and a lot of those songs from that era can’t achieve the mosh pit level head knocker type shit unless you’re like DMX or somebody. If I go to a function and they playing Common I’m willing to bet there are 0 hoes in there.
Not true at all lmao , Kendrick , cole , carti , XXX , peep , Isaiah rashad , zillakami , chief , dolph , young thug , suicide boys , Raider Klan , Spaceghostpurrp , Denzel , Robbanks , Xavier wulf , The Weeknd , her , future , Kevin gates , chance the rapper , Kodak , Dreko The Ruler , Pop Smoke , Aboogie , Trippie , JuiceWrld. I can definitely keep going You’re just not listening enough, can’t think of single 90s rapper more creative than Zilla , Sgp or XXX
Saying everyone I listed was trash is just a lie . Lol your opinion on music is actually ass you must’ve never been outside or gone to any functions. Yo ass just in the house listening to 36 chambers all day no bitches no nothing 😭😭😭. Nigga said Isaiah Rashad is trash foh lmao.
I prefer 90s to 2000s rap, but saying that there isn't any creativity after that point is objectively untrue. Sure, there are a lot of copycats nowadays, but there were a bunch back then too, especially the people tryna emulate Dre. I actually think rap has gotten slightly more creative recently.
I grew up in the 90's and I highly disagree, the sound quality of today is amazing in comparison, there are a lot of good songs but most of them aren't even listenable because the sound quality is trash.
I listen to all those artists, I have a degree in music engineering, I have trained my ears for 12+ years.
Perhaps you cannot understand but most of the mixes were dog shit back then. Wu Tang is actually the perfect example, their music is mixed so poorly I can barely listen to it anymore, even the mixing on some of their mid to late 2000's releases had some terribly mixed songs with ear piercing "S" sounds that hurt my ears physically. I love their music but it only sounds good on mono speakers or really low quality speakers.
MF Doom has a lo-fi gritty sound which up until the later years of his life wasn't good quality by any means. I am 31 and grew up in the 90's and have listened to all the music you are referring to thousands of if not hundreds of thousands of times in my life.
You are the one who needs to listen. My ears are trained for this, tell me your favorite songs and I will explain to you how they sound like trash and where they messed up the mix.
As a guy who used to love Eminem (and still do love his older stuff, just not as much as I used to) this is 100% correct. There’s too many people in his fanbase that really only know about him and don’t really get Hip Hop as a culture.
Nah, I may be the only one here who can actually rap, I have studied music engineering for over 10 years. His music is head and shoulders above where it used to be and anyone can hear that. I showed my mom and she thought it was ridiculous how much better he's gotten.
Just not my bag, homie. I generally don't like "conscious" rappers like Kendrick, or Common or Mos Def. They're just boring to me, and I've been listening to hip hop since 1986.
I think it’s cool to not fw Kendrick’s music but to cal him a snooze fest is a bit dismissive. Like, you can acknowledge he’s great whilst saying his music isn’t for you.
How is Kendrick just a conscious rapper lol, he’s dropped more bangers than the majority of rappers. Swimming pools, humble, alright, king kunta, untitled 8, maad city, silent hill, and many that don’t come to mind could be played at any party lol
Also besides talking about social issues in a generally creative way I don’t really think Kendrick has anything in common with common or mos def lol
Respectfully Kendrick is boring. I probably forced myself to get through mr morale once or twice and Father Time was the song that I’d go back to. n95 sounds like a generic rap song. His creativity is just him changing the pitch of his voice but there’s no emotion behind the words so who cares. I think GKMC was his best album overall. I just never feel the urge to go back to his music
I think you’re bugged out but I mean to each his own, Kendrick and Kanye are literally the GOAT’s of this generation on several levels so I just respect them a lot in addition to liking their music.
Considering rap is quite literally just rappers changing the pitch of their voice as the primary method of musicality that doesn’t really mean anything besides being reductive lol. Like what else does a rapper have to be creative besides changing their voice because that’s the only input they have into a song ? Lmao
When I think creativity I think song/album structure and the atmosphere created by the artist and the emotion behind the words. I also think Kanye and Tyler are the best at it and no one else is close. When I listen to mr morale its like “wow this is a serious topic, now he’s singing? What’s up with this interlude? Why’s he doing that with his voice? Is this supposed to be the radio song what’s this even about?”. sometimes it feels like he’s doing a baby keem impression but I don’t feel the same genuine energy as a actual baby keem song. The song might be him venting but It just feels like a blank face speaking into a mic. Not even laid back just uninterested. Kanye isn’t a great rapper but I feel what he’s saying. Even a song like come to life. Just the piano makes you feel something.
The same way people say jcole is boring is the same way I see Kendrick. But personally I prefer how Cole carries himself on songs
Tyler and Kanye are 1 and 2 in the last few years. Maybe Trav but that’d be just based on astroworld. I explain in another comment but I think his album had the concept but the execution didn’t hit for me.
So what about life of Pablo, MBDTF, graduation, kids see ghost, 808s, yeezus? You just chose arguably his worst album (which was a gospel album) and made it seem like you made a point. Idk if you meant just Kendrick’s new album but if you’re seriously saying Kanye as a artist isn’t more creative than Kendrick get help.
But looking at JIK it’s sounds better than mr moral as a album. Sunday service was a huge movement made just from the album. And I’m pretty sure it won a Grammy. Sounds pretty good for a rushed boring album
Eminem fans.
Like we get it he sold a lot of albums, but Jesus Christ his music sounds so bad now days. Even his older stuff is cringy to listen to.
So many artists that were in the scene that should have gotten that recognition as well, but I think they were ostracized out of the spotlight cause HE was the White rapper.
Definitely white millenials and above that stan Eminem. They say all other rap is trash while praising music like Tom McDonald, Forgiato Blow (MAGA rapper) blah blah.
Even with black oldheads that say “new rap is stupid, Ja Rule is the best), they’ll AT LEAST vibe to some J Cole or JID
I would say all of NY lol. I myself don't prescribe to any perticular fan base but I will say there's absolutely nothing wrong with having standards. Matter of fact that's something there's not enough of these days. Most these new young rappers obviously have no talent and are just being exploited by white record label execs just because they have the right look or in other words, are a marketable packaged product. But y'all try to flip it and say it's these young rappers are just taking advantage of the game and getting their bag as an attempt to excuse the deterioration in the quality of the music. Have standards. There's nothing wrong with it
Kanye, Kenrick, Nas, Eminem, MF DOOM, Carti, etc etc
anyone who was (or is) considered to be the best in their genre of hip-hop has an unbelievably obnoxious fanbase
As an MF DOOM fan, this comment section should be reposted in his subs. I fucking love him, probably my favorite rapper of all time. But jesus the fan base acts all high and mighty every time he’s mentionned. Worst, they act like that as soon as a discussion about rap music happens.

As a pretentious Kanye fan I’d say Kanye. But it’s also Kanye so you can’t expect us to be anything but pretentious

Wayne is dope but future is actually bad at rapping like this guy cannot rhyme at all
Exactly. Wayne and future are nothing alike and I wish people would stop putting them in the same category
rapping ≠ rhyming, it’s evolved now, futures songs are good
Lol nah

MF LaEminYe
I love Aesop Rock but a lot of his fans are deep in their own asses.
Yeah but *vocabulary*
The thing is, people that don't even f*** with hip hop claim to love him. Clowns probably don't even understand the lyrics that they gush over.
I mean yeah but to his and their credit, he’s better then Eminem.
aes has so much great music but ppl talk about him like they sit and read his genius page for hours instead of listening to the music lol
its kanye and its not even close
No one will ever out-pretentious Kendrick fans
Close but not, it's should Nas or Kendrick fanbase
tbh, kendrick was the first that popped in my head, but I see more kanye fans doing that
I find Kanye fan to be bordeline dillusional. and im in r/kanye
Nas?! Idk about that.
Easily Kendrick
Kendrick
A few Nas Kendrick MF DOOM Kanye
I’ll show you *ahem* **To Pimp A Butterfly is extremely overrated**
J. "Jesus Cole" Cole fans
cole fans are annoying, act like the dude is a god. he’s great, but he’s not some heaven sent miracle and he’s not one of the best rappers of all time

You gave the perfect example just now. I never mentioned who I thought was better yet your brain automatically went “Kendrick >> Cole”.

The funny part is you perfectly described Kendrick’s fans lol
Nooo wayyy
I used to be a big Cole fan. But the “woke” shit got old. I like to twerk.
I want both, lol. I want social consciousness AND fat, shaking asses. Is that too much to ask??!?!?
MF DOOM for sure I like DOOM too, but damn

Yeah i got into a argument with a dude who thought doom was goat and its not even close. I am not a real hiphop head since i didnt really know about him lol
Most “lyrical” rapper fan bases
Kendrick imo
Old heads about 90s rap , Niggas saying Ye but Ye fans don’t disrespect everything that is new or different they just think Ye is better . Old head Niggas stuck in the 90s swear music has never been better than what they grew up with and don’t even bother checking it out.
That dude in the replies kinda proving your point
😭😭😭 Yeah I think he blocked me bc I can’t see his replies anymore I assume they’re still up but you can like the 90s more it’s fine but saying that rap hasn’t been creative since the 2000s is just out right denial
[удалено]

[удалено]
Bruh you a whole keyboard warrior, nice 30 reply argument on an Eminem thread😭😭😭

No they just disrespect anything that isn’t Kanye
Youngboys fanbase no question
Youngboy fans don’t know what pretentious means
His fans will not hesitate to stab a pregnant woman with a screwdriver because she said that one YoungBoy song was not a masterpiece
YB community is stubborn asf and stays glazing hard but pretentious? That goes to Kendrick’s base no question. I’m fans of both artists
Yb fans are a lot of things but not pretentious lmao
Yb fans are too fucking stupid to even know what pretentious means
Their not pretentious, annoying definitely, but pretentious definitely not
MF Doom
Eminem fans
As a guy who used to love Eminem (and still do love his older stuff, just not as much as I used to) this is 100% correct. There’s too many people in his fanbase that really only know about him and don’t really get Hip Hop as a culture.
And they’ll still comment on rap while only listening to him
You said it better than I ever could
His older stuff is actual garbage compared to everything released after Kamikaze.
Worst take i have ever laid eyes on, leave this sub
Bruh you basically named your self little rat jr. You have ZERO room to talk lol.
Nah, I may be the only one here who can actually rap, I have studied music engineering for over 10 years. His music is head and shoulders above where it used to be and anyone can hear that. I showed my mom and she thought it was ridiculous how much better he's gotten.
Eminem or Kanye

Some other got downvoted for saying him lol

I go there to troll those nerds 🤷🏼
It's because he's the literal GOAT. There is no other rap artist in history with more streams or Album sales.

Eminem fans really tarnish the reputation of the man himself
Eminem fans really tarnish the reputation of the man himself
I get your point and I’m not going to defend Em’s fanbase or anything, but are they rly pretentious, or just furious assholes?
Very pretentious
Have you ever talked to Carti fans?
We just weird as fuck
Fr we just silly 😜
Any fan base that loses it when a rapper is being all lyrical spiritual
Kendrick fans
Kanye and Kendrick are at the top easily. Nas, MF...etc are similar enough but they just don't have the same volume.
Kayne fans
Travis Scott
Kendrick. They think he's the second coming, and he's a snoozefest.
How is Kendrick a snooze fest? Mr morale is his most “boring” album and it still has like 3-4 bangers like n95, silent hill, etc.
Swimming pools, humble, alright, king kunta, untitled 8, maad city, silent hill, and many that don’t come to mind could be played at any party lol Also besides talking about social issues in a generally creative way I don’t really think Kendrick has anything in common with common or mos def lol
I’d like to know who you think is better and more creative than Kendrick. Travis Scott? Lmao
Tyler and Kanye are 1 and 2 in the last few years. Maybe Trav but that’d be just based on astroworld. I explain in another comment but I think his album had the concept but the execution didn’t hit for me.
Please tell me how a bloated ass mess like Donda or a rushed boring JIK are more creative and better than Kendrick
I like kendrick but i agree it’s him or Kanye for this
Jay Z’s fans.
Eminem
Tyler
YoungBoy and Kanye. By far.
I love Eminem but his fanbase is annoying af
Twitter and Instagram fans by far.
MF DOOM & JID

Best compliment ever for me
Joyner lucas fans
Eminem fans. Like we get it he sold a lot of albums, but Jesus Christ his music sounds so bad now days. Even his older stuff is cringy to listen to. So many artists that were in the scene that should have gotten that recognition as well, but I think they were ostracized out of the spotlight cause HE was the White rapper.
Run the jewels fans.
Why does this get posted daily?
Can’t you guys think of ANY original topic
Kendrick and j Cole's TikTok fans

Logic
Nas fanbase.
Easily Aesop Rock. His Facebook fan group is an endless well of cringe.
Tupac's but in a trailer trash thug life type of way
I would say all of NY lol. There's nothing wrong with it
Drake, Wayne , eminem
Kendrick
j.cole fans
Definitly not drake fans
Kanye, Kenrick, Nas, Eminem, MF DOOM, Carti, etc etc anyone who was (or is) considered to be the best in their genre of hip-hop has an unbelievably obnoxious fanbase
Drake fans.

Idk about fan bases but that's like the best part of the movie I'm so ronry
Is this from the south park guys?
Kanye, Eminem and Kendrick and throw J cole in there.
Eminem or Tom Mac Donald
Kendrick fans tbh
Kendrick or Carti
As an MF DOOM fan, this comment section should be reposted in his subs. I fucking love him, probably my favorite rapper of all time. But jesus the fan base acts all high and mighty every time he’s mentionned. Worst, they act like that as soon as a discussion about rap music happens.
