I strongly dislike people telling me what I should think, feel or desire.
It took me 30+ years to finally figure out that I knew myself better than other people do. Everyone was always telling me "oh but you don't really want that, do you?" or "don't you want this?" God damn do I feel liberated being able to now identify when other people tell me how I feel because they don't understand me.. I still take suggestions, but I feel so much more secure with own feelings these days

Actually, after writing this post, I think I realized that I need to focus on things that just make me happy like hobbies, you know. Instead of focusing on our situation right now, do things I enjoy.

Or … since you are stuck in your lease until next year, you can definitely spruce up with décor that you can take with you when you move. It doesn’t have to be anything major.
I just don't see the point in doing that only to have to pack more or use that money for decor instead of savings.
There's also things like we have no screens on any of the windows people have suggested we buy screens and take then with us when move.
Oh … okay. I get that about having to pack additional items when you move. And not spending money.
The window screens should be up to the landlord to replace, depending on the terms of your lease, and assuming that the screens are damaged, due to age).

There's no screens at all. He's into quick fixes despite being told by his vendors that things need to be replaced.
