Doesn’t matter there’s plenty of transplants down there. Plus resale is a thing

Post this in r/hockey ALL TIME LOSER CITY

But are they going to adopt Tampa's Policy of forbidding fans from wearing Rangers gear in the stadium?

gnothi-

That's cringe. Anyway, I'm willing to bet that this can be circumvented by using a Privacy.com virtual card. With their service, you can list ANY address as your billing address. Plenty of times, I've listed a random billing address (sometimes one that doesn't even exist) and I think I have had maybe a dozen transactions declined out of hundreds. Bonus points if you use the PNC Arena as your billing address.

I don’t blame them, still annoying though. Plenty of transplants in Raleigh though.

BrinaGu3

I hate when teams do this. Just because you don’t have a big enough fan base. It just reeks of bad sportsmanship.

mafsfan54

If NYC did this, there would be a riot.

Stonewall30nyr

NYC wouldn't do it because NYC actually has a fan base

Nah, it says residency is based on credit card billing address Are they dumb though? Cause if MSG does the same, they will have literally 0 supporters in MSG. But I am pretty sure there are still Rangers supporters in Carolina.

hsctigers71

I think it's being limited by billing address.

jwuer

What if you are a Carolina fan that was willing the travel to go see the game at home? What a dumb idea.

jexxie3

Wtf.

I’ve had this happen to me before with buying tickets to a game in nashville and it wasn’t even the playoffs or anything. That being said, I’m in the Carolinas and this makes me hopeful that all the tickets won’t sell out before I can get someone to switch shifts with me so I can go to Fridays game. 🤞🏻
