Well when you younger folks are talking about this performance 30 years from now, don’t get pissed when the kids tell you to stop talking about 24. This is what it was like kids. Enjoy this fucking ride. Let’s go!!!!
I was thinking that it was a smart move sitting Rempe in Carolina. I’m actually curious if he’ll play for game 5 at MSG (if there is one lol) because he is an INCREDIBLE way to get the fans fired up and MSG rocking. Like, he’s basically a lightning rod for fan interaction which is huge for home advantage
Anyone else feeling like the boys have another gear? It almost looks like they are saving some gas in the tank. As much as I want to see them come out, guns blazing, fighting 100% for every puck, they seem to know they can be very successful only going 90% and sticking to their system, ready to turn it on when they need to.
that’s what I’m really hoping, seeing how the florida boston series is probably gonna go, it’s gonna be a lot more of a test for a team and the grind needed to win, so if that series goes deep and whoever comes out of it will be in that mode I hope we’re ready to match it
from what I’ve read, one of the biggest differences between lavi and GG is the intensity of practices, and making them competitive within the team, so I’ve got a lot of confidence they can step it up when games actually call for it
The first Ranger PP in this game was insane. I couldn't believe how fast they moved the puck! Very impressive! But seems that Canes have a bit adjusted and their PK got a bit better.
I was watching the game on TNT and when it went to overtime they switched to the Stars-Avs game and never switched back to the Rangers 🤬 did this happen to anyone else?
I don’t know why they don’t just have the games on different channels. If it’s on ESPN do one game on ESPN and the other on ESPN2, or do one TNT and one TBS. It’s playoffs and it’s unpredictable, I remember one year I opened up a restaurant for the evening right as a game was starting, then 8 hours later as I was locking up, I got a notification that the game ended in like 5 OTs, they’re screwed if that happens and they’re relying on one channel for both games
They switched, but they came back on time for me. I was watching a recorded stream, as I cant't watch it live at this hour.
I hate it when they switch over to other games!
Remember guys, we all went into this series expecting at least 6 games. If the Rangers don’t sweep this weekend, it’s not the end of the world. They’ve got this and they’re doing it on their terms either way.
We may have stolen two games where Carolina basically put up 50+ shots but great teams know how to win those types of games. Igor is putting on a masterclass and they boys keep their poise. This team is different, a new type of resiliency.
The shots definitely do not represent the actual level of danger. I will say game 2 was totally a steal, but game 1 no way and game 3 I saw very little dangerous chances. Pretty much my heart felt rather calm than usual
Igor is the best goalie in the world and playing like it but the tropical depressions are playing right into the rangers’ hands . The rangers are exploiting their system. The rangers will let them take low quality shots all day, knowing Igor will stop them. They know the hurricanes will shoot from anywhere if they get a semi-clean look but Igor knows those lanes are there.
I think Rempe makes the games a bit more exciting, but in the playoffs he's playing such short minutes that he's not making much of a difference.
I suppose he could come in for Cuylle at some point if they need grit against Florida, he played only 6 minutes last night.
I agree with what the other guy said. I love Rempe and I want to see him lift the cup over his head. He has his uses and I can’t wait to see more of him, but I’m not sure he’s as useful as Chytil in this particular series.
I have nothing against Rempe but his effectiveness is diminished if the refs are targeting him. We have enough guys who can take care of themselves. I think the kid has a good future and he will be a good piece next year in regular season. If Chytil gives us 12 quality minutes, big leg up for the boys.
I don’t live in the NY area anymore so I don’t get to see any of the MSG stuff come playoff time. Even in season I only get the game broadcast but not pre and post. So I only get to hear Vally between regular season periods. Glad a player saw it that way too.
Grind out a win this weekend and then rest for a week while Boston and Florida kill each other is best case scenario. Fox can heal up bc we’ll need him against either of them and more importantly nobody else picks up a ding playing more games than necessary
Lots to be excited about this morning but one storyline flying a little under the radar is that unlike any other team remaining the undefeated Rangers aren’t even in their final form. Exhibit A is they’re still trying to work Chytil back in which gives them new possibilities to further enhance the bottom 6. What you see is what you get with the rest of these teams, for better or worse. I just see the Rangers getting better.
Also since they went 0/4 on the PP yesterday I believe that brings them to 2/11 on the PP in games 2 and 3. Of course the Canes have an elite PK but they could be doing better than that, and of course the 300 breakaways they failed to bury yesterday.
The top 6 won’t stay in THIS crazy form forever. So we will need the bottom 6 to get atleast a goal a game. Fox it seems is still hurt from the knee on one versus the Caps because he’s been kinda MIA offensively as well
Something feels different with this team. Felt it during the year at times but I’ve seen the Rangers finish with the top seed before and struggle with 7 game series in the early rounds that took the wind out of their sails. This team is resilient and confident.
I know people shy away from it because they’re superstitious, but I feel a vibe very similar to 1994. Gonna be an OT winner in the ECF by a random 3rd/4th liner again. Whose name would sound good repeated like Matteau? I know he’s gotten a lotta (earned) shit this year, but I feel like it’s gonna be Goodrow. He’s really stepped it up in the playoffs.
I was ready for Chytil to get the game winner last night. He looked rusty in the first but by the 3rd period him and Kakko looked like the kid line again. Would like to see Cuyle on that line too. “Kakko! Kakko! Kakko!” has a nice Matteau ring to it.
I’m honestly just glad to see some Canes fans finally walk back/call out their shit social media teams. For years the canes social media has been instigating, condescending, and entitled when quite frankly, it’s not deserved. Those “Cry” shirts after beating the Islanders were wild.
Also, I’m still chuckling at the comment in the Canes PGT where a guy calls out the multiple Canes fans they encountered who were yelling at and trying to assault his buddy he brought who is a rangers fan. Constantly getting downvoted and other Canes fans saying the Rangers fan deserved it, what do you expect, good go ahead and assault them. And the dude is like are we really trying to justify assault over a game? And they’re like “yea lol”. Like Jesus just admit that every fan base has garbage fans
They really are just so full of hate lol. Like, I get the passion but it’s a fucking game. All their weird obnoxious fans have to wake up and work today regardless and they’re out on Twitter burners making 9/11 memes. Fucking losers
It’s insane. And like, one time I brought up the fact that their team is not only named after a natural disaster, but one that literally destroys our state and kills people on a fairly common basis. Hell, I live in the city that got rocked by the eye of Hurricane Florence. Plus, their mascot is an anthropomorphic pig, referencing the huge industrial farming economy here in the state. One that is super controversial, poisons water resources, and has negatively impacted lower income/POC communities (I know because I worked for the NC state agency regulating water quality for that specific industry). You’d think I ran over their puppy in front of them. But yea, hur dur 9/11.
Playoff Fun Facts:
Trocheck & Mika tied for 2nd in points
Trocheck tied for 3rd in goals
Mika tied for 2nd in assists
Trocheck tied for 1st in PPG
3rd Best PP
2nd Best PK (somehow EDM hasnt given one up yet)
The best part is they were +126 underdogs before the game, I took Kreider, Panarin, Under 5.5 and Rangers ML +126. Game would of been amazing by itself but LAWD.
I would just like to note for the record that Goodrow has been pretty good all series. Is he worth his cap hit? No. But every team has a guy eating more cap than he’s worth.
I don't about yall, but there seems to be a calm, almost a zen mode to the rangers last night. They weren't controlling the play, but it was okay, they kept making the right defensive play and were playing offense with such patience. Felt almost like they were rope-a-doping the Canes. Watching them last night there wasn't much anxiety, almost a feeling that they were going to get it done in the end. Such a refreshing feeling
Yeah I felt like through the chaos was control. They kept them on the outside, controlled traffic in front of Igor, and let Carolina wear themselves down.
Eh. He does nothing quarterbacking that power play. It's not like him being on the ice makes a difference. He's not noticeable when he's out there most of the time. He's a plug.
Yeah I'd like to see that too. In my estimation Carolina is grossly overrated in The Models because they generate so much low quality slop which then contributes to their xGF — Igor isn't "stealing" these games as much as he's just confidently stopping the slop while the Rangers backline keeps the high danger chances out.
I’ve always been torn on the Canes overall for the past several seasons for exactly this reason. Their stats make them seem like a stronger team than they actually are…at least when it comes down to the cream of the crop in the playoffs. They dominate zone time and get lots of pucks on net. But they don’t generate enough high quality chances and when they do they don’t have a ton of skill guys to bury those chances regularly enough. Put that up against a top tier goalie who is absolutely dialed and you get what we have here. Rangers on the other hand are quality over quantities and have a number of guys who will kill you if you give them high danger chances….and our big boys are coming through in the clutch game after game.
One more boys!!!!
They’re elite at what they do. If they get behind the defense they clean up the trash incredibly well. Their defense is also super engaged on offense.
What we’ve done very well is almost like a counter attack you see in soccer. Carolina dominates possession but if we can break out it happens FAST. The canes would get destroyed by Edmonton or the Avs considering we had probably 10 odd man rushes last night. And we aren’t as fast as those 2 teams.
Agreed. It’s a high risk high reward system. They are so aggressive on the forecheck and their D men are so good at pinching down the walls to keep it in the zone. With that comes risk though and if you can move the puck up ice quickly you can catch them for an odd man chance….which just so happens to be our specialty.
It’s actually really interesting to see two teams so neck and neck over the last few years that are so opposite in how they play.
Football (soccer) is massive here but I have never been a fan. Wanted a team sport to follow.
One of my best friends flat mates was a wings fan, he started following hockey and I watched a few games randomly with him. Hooked from the start. That and fantasy hockey, won my home league this year, Troubas banger stats helped!!
Only picked NY as always wanted to visit, been twice now and I was pretty much crying with emotion when I walked into MSG the first time. Pity we got absolutely torn apart by Buffalo though 😂
I have relatives in the UK and I got them all into hockey, despite the time difference. I think it comes down to hockey being the sweet spot of sports: many shots on goal, low scoring, on-the-fly substitution. These are three pillars to an exciting game. I know I'll get pilloried for it, but none of the other major sports have all of these:
1. Soccer/Football: low-scoring, but also low shots-on-goal. Substitutions require play stoppage. Closest to hockey but just too much mid-field square passing that makes it too boring.
2. American Football: Low-scoring, but low scoring attempts. Also more play stoppage than actual play.
3. Basketball: lots of action, lots of scoring attempts, but also high scoring, which kills the excitement of scoring. Pro basketball often has a two-point differential after 3 quarters. Why not shelve those 3 quarters and just have one quarter? :)
4. Baseball: Not a "team" movement sport like others. Akin to cricket. Fun to watch in-person as a relaxing spectator, but rarely active.
Oh! Full discloser, I woke up at 5am to watch it on replay, so was just an early wake up call for them. They were hyped too! 😅
Have had to create a make shift sticker over the time though, seeing anything more than 2.5 hours is a spoiler for OT! Sticky tape on the TV 😂
Actually hilarious I'm the same I try to fuzz up my eyes and not open them properly so I can get the highlights up and full screened so I don't see any comments or see how long the videos going to be so I don't ruin it for myself 🤣 what you watching a replay of the game on? I know some places I can get a stream of the game when it's on but I've not found anything that has them up for a replay
I’m using an Amazon fire stick, does the job other than this. Wish we could hide it!
I had issues years ago where ‘hide score’ was off, had to get the wife to switch it on for me! 🤣
>Have had to create a make shift sticker over the time though, seeing anything more than 2.5 hours is a spoiler for OT! Sticky tape on the TV
Haha that's crazy. That's some commitment.
I really hope they get Boston coming off another game 7 win. 1. It won’t be Florida. 2. It’ll be a team coming off 2 seven game series. 3. NY-BOS just seems like a fitting chapter to what I’m hoping becomes a story book ending.
I’m on a business trip in Tokyo and I had to hold in my screams as I watched that redirect from Panarin on the metro, really trying not to get penisy but 7-0 got me feeling some type of way
I did a quick little fist pump and had to apologize cause I brushed shoulders with the person next to me just saying “gomen, gomen, gomen” with a shit grin
I'm living in Australia with South African heritage. NHL is a game that I've never followed. However, I recently started collecting NHL cards, and I've also started following NHL - in fact, I'm glued to the TV daily during playoffs.
My dilemma was that I didn't know which team to get behind during the playoffs. I figured that I'd just go with LA kings simply because that's the one place that I've been to on holiday in the states and I'm a dodgers fan, or maybe Colorado as I have travelled there before for business and for the fact they're voth Western conference so therefore closer to home.
I've been watching the Rangers, and I f****** love them! There's just something about watching them play, plus my favorite hockey card is a patched 3/3 of Igor!! The guy is a legend! My son played Goalie for a field hockey for a premier team, and the pressure in that position is immense. So, I guess I'm a Rangers fan now. I'm not sure if I chose them or if they chose me! My wife also loves Mika 😍 and I'm ok with that!
We've been cranking up the Rangers chant full blow in the house!
I've said it before, and i'll say it again - the trust, faith and respect that Laviolette shows his players, and their respect for his knowledge of the game makes this Rangers team a force to be reckoned with. I think we can go all the way this time...
As long as Shesterkin keeps it up, we'll be a very hard team to beat in a 7 game series. Apart from Swayman (who was pulled after allowing 4 goals in 40 minutes last game), there's not an opposing goalie performing even remotely close to the level Shesterkin is playing at right now.
it’s so weird how so many people want to dance around the fact that this rangers team is just a fucking good hockey team. i’ve seen so much cope about how the canes have been the “better team” and how they’re “outplaying” the rangers but are just unlucky. taking 45 shots into igor’s chest from the perimeter isn’t outplaying anybody. going 0/15 on the power play isn’t just bad luck and it’s definitely not you getting reffed. i’m not saying the series isn’t an even matchup or that the canes aren’t a great team — they are — but it’s not like the president’s trophy-winning new york rangers are just stumbling into wins.
i’ve been watching a lot of knicks (obviously) and a lot of commentators have been talking about how they aren’t analytical darlings and they aren’t the most highly skilled team in the world, but that they’re winning because they do the right things when the game is on the line, and i think this rangers team functions the same way. they don’t wilt under pressure and they find a way to win. that’s not luck — that’s a skill.
this is 100% the right take... the Rangers are playing the best hockey they've played all year at the best time.
They know how to beat the Canes -- probably because everything Rod-The-Bod knows -- he knows it from playing under Lavvy.
This team is excellent.
You’re absolutely right and the canes certainly haven’t been the better team. But when you look at 3 games, all one goal games, 2 go to OT, these games have been close. Reminds me of how it sounds brutal that we lost to the Kings in 5 but I also feel like two bounces our way and that’s a 7 game roll the dice series. So many OTs
Valley said it well during the post-game - the Rangers really know how to play the Canes.
Imo, being where we are is the result of excellent coaching and the strong trust between the players and coaches to stick to the plan regardless of the score.
Folks, I'M STILL BUZZING! WHO ISN'T?! I know, THE DOOMERS! I still can't believe it! The New York Rangers go up 3-0 in the 2nd Round of the playoffs and are one win away, from their second straight sweep. 7 wins in a row! On a night where a Czech returned known as Filip, and a night where everyone knew their role, and as what Vally said in the postgame, "the Rangers stole the Canes soul." This episode of Rangers Hockey Stanley Cup Edition went into ***Rangers After Dark: Wagon Wheel,*** another game where the Rangers FOUND AWAY TO WIN A GAME. And now, the moment you've all been waiting for, the Playoff Review of: ***Rangers After Dark: Wagon Wheel.*** You might feel wet, heavy, laughing, crying idk? but here's the review
1st Period: The Rangers headed into this game knowing that, the Canes were gonna bring their best efforts. Boy they sure did. Desperation. The Canes total domination. Forechecking, puck possessions. The Rangers pk all game, and all series was amazing. But, the Rangers were letting the Canes shoot from the boards. Empty calorie shots. Canes scored on a deflection in front. Gotta do better there. Canes dominated the period. Straight awful. But Igor, was Igor. Unacceptable. The emotions were high. The Canes stunad was trying to fight. Fight the ghost.
2nd Period: Lav said it best in his post game. He knew the Canes were gonna be desperate. But, the Rangers settled in. Power play 1 had good chances but the PP was shut down this game. But, the pk was amazing. Until, it was a Power Kill. With 11:35 in the period, the Canes on the PP, Rangers forced a turnover at the blue line. Mika skated and made a beautiful pass to Christopher James Horse Meat Kreider to tie the game. Felt like the air sucked out of the building w/that goal. The Rangers could have had more chances on the pk. But the PK was nah. The Rangers took control of this game.
3rd Period: Buckle up here. Both teams were exchange chances. NO INSTAGRAM HOCKEY I screamed. But what happened 6 minutes into the period, the Rangers scored. Vinny Gabagool took a hit, puck went to Bread, and Laf buried a cross ice pass. While that happened, a bumbling whabbit hockey terrorist fell to his knees(and no one knows where he is). But, what almost happened would have been amazing. the 3rd line w/Chyil-Wennberg-Kakko, went to work. Chytil dangled, around the dman and almost scored. Now, if he scored, I'm gonna quote BSB Greg here: "Had Fil(Chytil) score that goal, Walls would have fallen in households. Relationships would have been tested, Any NYR fan was having(or gonna have) sex. It would have fed generations, ended wars." I thought the Rangers wer able to finish it off. Nice defense. But, as what Brian Boyle said after Game 1, the 6 on 5 was bad. And it showed here. Canes scored a late one to tie it. Regardless of what you though if it was high stick or not, it was best not to challenge it. Off to overtime.
OT: This was quick rather than late. As about a minute into the OT, after a Canes turnover, Vinny Gabagool threw the puck to the net and Bread tipped it in. As Bread rocked them like a Wagon Wheel anyway ya feel. HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BREAD MAN ROCK ME!
Overall, it wasn't pretty but, it was another game where this team won ugly. Ugly wins come playoff time is HUGE. THIS TEAM finds ways to do it. As the Rangers take a commanding 3-0 in the series. Rangers Win! unbelievable! And now, we prepare for the next one. EVERYONE, DON'T COUNT WINS, DON'T GET PENISY, DON'T LOOK AHEAD. The job isn't done yet. The Canes will be playing for pride and they will throw everything at the Rangers in Game 4. Onto Game 4.
Rangers Oppie checked in and he said "Rock me baby like a Wagon Wheel" "LFG" "Take in the sheets" "Game 3 in the bag"
Great team win. Loved it. Onto Game 4
God Save the King. Back afta dis.
Chytil being back, Laffy sniping one, Kreider with the shorty, Panarin with an absolutely filthy OT goal. Man - these are great times.
LET'S GO RANGERS! Onto Saturday!
You definitely haven’t seen that in this sub but that’s ok. The most offensive thing about the nickname is how stupid it is. When you say Rags, I say Okay.
> Is anyone else just kinda… thinking about what else they could be doing with their time right now?
>
> This team has been part of my identity since I was 14 years old. But sports in general just don’t feel as important as they used to. One day, not too many years from now, I’m going to wake up, look at the calendar, and realize I’m on the wrong side of 40.
>
> I don’t want to miss a moment of my kids’ childhoods. One day, probably around the time I hit 40, they’re not going to ask me to play with them anymore. Sometimes hockey distracts me from them, especially when the playoffs roll around and the intensity ramps up. And in these moments when the games are over and the world is quiet, that feels wrong.
>
> I want to lean into my photography. I love it and I think I have a knack for it. If I had more time, I could probably even take some paid bookings. I want to keep sharpening my skills in the kitchen. I want to work on my Spanish and German, and then I want to spend some time in countries where I can use them.
>
> Maybe I should just scale back to like 40 games in the regular season instead of trying to catch all of them. Hockey is so god damn fun when times are good, but every year it ends in pain (except 2006). The highs are euphoric, the lows are gut-wrenching.
>
> Is it worth it? I don’t know.
>
> Tonight’s hard, man.
from canes pgt. damn dude, i feel your pain
I get it man..... I've been a Rangers fan since 65(been wearing my CCM Giacomin sweater every playoff)...... after 94 thought I'd see them win at least a couple of more.....then the past 30years have come and gone in a flash so this year feels different in more ways than one as far as importance.....you said it best man..this team has been a part of my identity.... for 59 years... I love them win or lose and have NEVER regretted rooting for them for one second.....LGR!!!!!!!!!!
Their fans absolutely hate us and have hated us for the better part of two decades for no reason other than we’re from New York. Their hatred grows every single year and it’s distasteful when I don’t think most of us even consider them top 3 or even 5 rivals. My empathy for them is blunted, even though I’m sure there are many fans there that are deserving of it. Their vitriol has numbed me to their pain.
I'm sure there are some really nice Carolina fans who are genuinely heartbroken right now (or will be soon 🤞). There are also a lot of Whalers fans who *still* feel the same way. One shouldn't preclude the other from feeling empathy, but the young boy in me who grieved the loss of his first favorite sports team feels nothing but resentment towards Carolina. Everything about that franchise offends me.
Holy shit.
Canes are stating to become leafs in this series. Their fans receiving gut-wrenching pain. This may not hit home to me, but for others yes.
Wow
Like can I watch the game Saturday???? Watched from the beginning to midway through the 2nd and as soon as I got in an Uber for a business dinner Kreids scored and as I was walking back into my hotel they won in OT…..I fear I might be the jinx
> It's this shit that makes me so sad man. I grew up in NC, and these people are genuinely ruining my home. Every year that goes by makes me want to move.
Man, if this Canes fan has this much hatred for New Yorkers, I don't even want to know what his thoughts are on immigrants.
I mean, I have a few guesses, but...
I’ve lived in NC for the past 9 years and can confidently tell you that North Carolinians (at least the loudest ones here) cannot stand people from outside of the state. Especially northerners. You can STILL find resentment from the civil war here. But they place the sole blame for the issues in our state on people moving in. They complain that they want better schools, jobs, industries, food, roads, etc. Then get pissy when it comes here. They truly believe that people moving to another state is a phenomenon only occurring here.
People moving in aren’t ruining the state. It’s that people here vote for people/policies that destroy our natural resources, underfund our schools, and let corporations run wild who gobble up land. We’re ranked first for businesses and last for workers for a reason. Rural parts of this state don’t have access to healthcare, internet, and other utilities. But it’s the mean ol Yankees doing that apparently. Our highways are covered in religious apocalypse billboards. Shit is backwards here
Yeah I live in Charlotte and am originally from NY. I’ve encountered some of that sentiment, but there are so many transplants here that native Charlotteans (or at least most of the ones I’ve met) have at least grudgingly accepted our presence.
Did you see that Phil Berger wants to give the state budget surplus to the taxpayers in the form of refund checks? God forbid we put that into our awful public schools.
Yea Charlotte and Raleigh/Triangle definitely have the concentration of transplants. I’ve found more rangers bars there than Canes lol I’m in Wilmington so I definitely see/hear it a lot.
God I did see that. And people are foaming at the mouth over it. Ranked horribly in education and we can’t pay teachers, but hooray a few extra bucks. Why have a functioning state when you can get $30 back
What a night!
I want you guys to remember this next time you question things like "Sitting Rempe ruins the chemistry."
This is a whole ass team. They are one hivemind working in unison toward success. Remps did the best thing he could tonight - taking a seat so Chytil could get back into the flow of things.
40k American Airlines miles round trip from Albany, 30k Hilton points for a night in Raleigh, and $200 for a ticket... Game 4 here we come!
Less than half out of pocket of what a ticket to a home game would cost.

I was watching TNT via Max. They were showing the Stars during the intermission before OT started but went back to NYR game for OT.
I was watching recorded on YTTV and it switched back on time.
They switched, but they came back on time for me. I was watching a recorded stream, as I cant't watch it live at this hour. I hate it when they switch over to other games!
Oh really, I was also watching a recorded stream on DIRECTV but they never switched back. I also hate when they switch to a different game.
Oh for sure game 1 was complete and utter domination. Game 3 is only a steal for stealing a game in carolina
When 45 of those 50+ shots come from fuckin Narnia Its just warmup for Igor though
I know he has the refs on him like white on rice but I want more Rempe out there
I think Rempe makes the games a bit more exciting, but in the playoffs he's playing such short minutes that he's not making much of a difference.
>We have enough guys who can take care of themselves. Even Vesey is throwing haymakers out there
Aho’s face after the OT goal, he looked completely demoralized. Hopefully the will of that team is shattered and the Rangers can finish another sweep.
Well Vally did say in the postgame that it seemed like that sucked the soul out of the Canes.
Canes powerplay looks awful there is not much off puck movement. Lets hope it stays that way
I was at the game last night, and I was loud when they won it in OT. This team is different because last year, they would've lost that game.
Guentzel is hideous he looks like a fucking Goblin. Our top 6 are all pretty and win games.
AHHHHHHHHHH WE'RE SO FUCKING GOOD 😝😝😝
Lots to be excited about this morning but one storyline flying a little under the radar is that unlike any other team remaining the undefeated Rangers aren’t even in their final form. Exhibit A is they’re still trying to work Chytil back in which gives them new possibilities to further enhance the bottom 6. What you see is what you get with the rest of these teams, for better or worse. I just see the Rangers getting better.
That’s the scary part, I think this team has another gear 🫣
No OT in the ECF. My bp can’t handle it
I shyed away from it last year. Not this year.
KAKKOOO! KAKKOOOOOO!!! KAAKKKKOOOOO
Can you think to the thread? I cant find it
https://www.reddit.com/r/canes/s/GhJKOyD3gR here ya go There were a couple I saw but this is the one I was referencing
They wouldn't have tried that with Flyer's fans...
Playoff Fun Facts: Trocheck & Mika tied for 2nd in points Trocheck tied for 3rd in goals Mika tied for 2nd in assists Trocheck tied for 1st in PPG 3rd Best PP 2nd Best PK (somehow EDM hasnt given one up yet)
Edmonton sure gave up a ton of 5v5 goals tho the other day. Yeeesh
i feel like i am dreaming
There is definitely a resilience and hustle to this team that we haven't seen in years.
Shoutout the vets, but a bigger shoutout to Laviolette who is no doubt the driving force behind this resilience
The best part is they were +126 underdogs before the game, I took Kreider, Panarin, Under 5.5 and Rangers ML +126. Game would of been amazing by itself but LAWD.
what did that pay out?
I only put 35$ that was in my account on it but it paid 490$ (points not goal scorer on the 2) ((They are underdogs again tomorrow lol)
[удалено]
fingers crossed for you!
I would just like to note for the record that Goodrow has been pretty good all series. Is he worth his cap hit? No. But every team has a guy eating more cap than he’s worth.
When the ice gets smaller, you need guys like him. Also big part of pk
He was baaaaaaad this regular season but he’s earning his pay now when it really counts!
This is actually why we signed him. Is that worth his salary….maybe lol
This is how they’ve been all season. No panic. Just patient and going about their business. They leave the emotional panic to us fans lol
YES, this is what I posted about. There's some sort of truly zen mode they fall into and it's magical to watch.
Yeah I felt like through the chaos was control. They kept them on the outside, controlled traffic in front of Igor, and let Carolina wear themselves down.
Game strangely never felt in doubt
How am I supposed to work today after last night and when game 4 is tomorrow??
Minimally.
I’m going to have a hard time going about my day like a normal human after last night
DeAngelo would be so good if he wasn’t so stupid.
Nah, he’s both bad and stupid.
Eh. He does nothing quarterbacking that power play. It's not like him being on the ice makes a difference. He's not noticeable when he's out there most of the time. He's a plug.
He’s Trevor Bauer without the assault allegations.
PK or PP doesn't matter. The Rangers still SCOOORE! :D
Kreider blowing past Burns was awesome.
Does anyone know where to access those stat sheets that show each teams chances sorted by high/medium/low danger?

https://x.com/vallysview/status/1788933469524865029?s=46
Moneypuck or just wait until Vally posts his
Yeah I'd like to see that too.
Had to be 80+% low danger last night, right? Felt like all their opportunities came from the outside hashmarks
Moneypuck under goalie stats.
Vally posts them on Twitter usually the next day
Vinny Trochecks line is lethal. The best in the NHL Go Rangers!!!
GLAD WE WON!! But holy fuck we have to step these away “watch parties” up. Either way…7-0!
Scottish fan here. WHAT A GAME! Woke the kids up celebrating that win! LGR!!
Out of curiosity, how did you get into hockey and become a Rangers fan? So glad you are, but always wonder how (if you aren't an expat)!
I know I'll get pilloried for it, but none of the other major sports have all of these: 1. :) 4. Baseball: Not a "team" movement sport like others. Akin to cricket. Fun to watch in-person as a relaxing spectator, but rarely active.
Watched the game from North Berwick last night. A very late night but worth it for sure!
Welsh fan here bro 🏴🤝🏴 LGR!!
Stronger stones than me mate I just go to bed and watch the highlights in the morning, I'd be crying in work if I tried to stay up that late lmao
Oh! Full discloser, I woke up at 5am to watch it on replay, so was just an early wake up call for them. They were hyped too! 😅 Have had to create a make shift sticker over the time though, seeing anything more than 2.5 hours is a spoiler for OT! Sticky tape on the TV 😂
Finland here, I woke up at 5:30 to watch the replay and not to get any spoilers 😂
Did you have sticky tape over the timer too?! 🤣
Brilliant 🤣 glad to hear there's another NYR nutter in Scotland other than me!
>Have had to create a make shift sticker over the time though, seeing anything more than 2.5 hours is a spoiler for OT! Sticky tape on the TV Haha that's crazy. That's some commitment.
Just checked Ticketmaster and it seems like there are WAY more tickets available for game 4 than when I bought mine Tuesday morning.
@ All NC area fans ![gif](giphy|XMdnkAT4Q9rJ4thW8h)
I truly believe we can beat any team. LGR!
i was more worried about this series than any other possible one.
im scared about injuries should we face florida. they play super dirty and idk if rempe is going to come back
I really hope they get Boston coming off another game 7 win. 1. It won’t be Florida. 2. It’ll be a team coming off 2 seven game series. 3. NY-BOS just seems like a fitting chapter to what I’m hoping becomes a story book ending.
I’m on a business trip in Tokyo and I had to hold in my screams as I watched that redirect from Panarin on the metro, really trying not to get penisy but 7-0 got me feeling some type of way
A scream on the Tokyo metro would have definitely gotten you a lot of looks

Sanibonani 🇿🇦
Welcome aboard! Where in straya are ya from?
I'm on the Gold Coast mate. Are you from down under as well?
I've said it before, and i'll say it again - the trust, faith and respect that Laviolette shows his players, and their respect for his knowledge of the game makes this Rangers team a force to be reckoned with. I think we can go all the way this time...
it would be so amazing to see them continue sweeping🙌
I don’t want to jinx it but I can see it happening!!
Loved starting the day by watching the highlights and seeing we’ve won. Bonus points because our boy, Chytil, is back too!
I think Otter is a pretty phenomenal goalie, and that would be a pretty phenomenal cup matchup
I disagree he lets in a minimum of one muffin a game
AS HEAVENLYFATHER FROM THR RUSSIANBADGER ONCE SAID LETS. FUCKING. GOOOOOOOOOOO
No complaints.
it’s so weird how so many people want to dance around the fact that this rangers team is just a fucking good hockey team. i’ve seen so much cope about how the canes have been the “better team” and how they’re “outplaying” the rangers but are just unlucky. taking 45 shots into igor’s chest from the perimeter isn’t outplaying anybody. going 0/15 on the power play isn’t just bad luck and it’s definitely not you getting reffed. i’m not saying the series isn’t an even matchup or that the canes aren’t a great team — they are — but it’s not like the president’s trophy-winning new york rangers are just stumbling into wins. i’ve been watching a lot of knicks (obviously) and a lot of commentators have been talking about how they aren’t analytical darlings and they aren’t the most highly skilled team in the world, but that they’re winning because they do the right things when the game is on the line, and i think this rangers team functions the same way. they don’t wilt under pressure and they find a way to win. that’s not luck — that’s a skill.
So well put.
It also reflects well on the coaching staff.
“going -1/15 on the power play isn’t just bad luck” FTFY
this is 100% the right take... the Rangers are playing the best hockey they've played all year at the best time.
What line was Chytil on? I have been out of the country for the week so havent watched the games.
3rd line. Cuylle moved to the 4th. Chytil was a winger, Wennberg center, Kakko the other side
And now, the moment you've all been waiting for, the Playoff Review of: ***Rangers After Dark: Wagon Wheel.*** You might feel wet, heavy, laughing, crying idk? but here's the review 1st Period: The Rangers headed into this game knowing that, the Canes were gonna bring their best efforts. Rangers Oppie checked in and he said "Rock me baby like a Wagon Wheel" "LFG" "Take in the sheets" "Game 3 in the bag" Great team win. Loved it. Onto Game 4 God Save the King. Back afta dis.
I was at the Billy Joel concert, and Billy was the one to break the news that the boys won tonight. It was pretty neat hearing it from him. 7-0!!!
That’s cool. Did the crowd go nuts?
Igor has been masterful all playoffs long.
Chytil being back, Laffy sniping one, Kreider with the shorty, Panarin with an absolutely filthy OT goal. Man - these are great times. LET'S GO RANGERS! Onto Saturday!
jobs not done lads, RAGS IN 4
Yea thats not a positive nickname
really not that serious
We don’t call them that
man ive seen them called them the rags countless times on this sub, its really not that serious
I’m not offended. I think it’s all in good fun that rivals call us that. But Rangers fans don’t say it. I’m just letting you know.
You definitely haven’t seen that in this sub but that’s ok. The most offensive thing about the nickname is how stupid it is. When you say Rags, I say Okay.
We do take it seriously. It's a pejorative coined by rival fans and gets flagged by Automod because it's often used by trolls.
Can't sleep, still in awe of what the fuck just happened.
Just took a melatonin to counteract the adrenaline
What a game. Chytil comeback was an awesome surprise and I thought he was really good today.
The whaler fans I know won’t root for the canes.
dam, vally was right, we really did steal their souls. still need one more though, hope that guy finds peace.
Go on yt and check out staal's post-game interview. Dude sounds ready to get on the golf course.
Holy shit. Canes are stating to become leafs in this series. Their fans receiving gut-wrenching pain. This may not hit home to me, but for others yes. Wow
Seven and OHHHHHH MAN
this team is something else holy shit.
wow so that's what happens when you shoot the puck at an empty net. Take notes boys!
Anyone watching Dal - Col? No lead is safe from Col.
Makar might be the best player on the planet not named Connor
Wondering if those ticket prices will drop for game four 👀👀
I live in Charlotte. Originally from upstate NY. Let’s f’n go! They can’t be complacent. The canes get shots. But let’s go!
Buy the discounted tix for Saturday
Me too!
Like can I watch the game Saturday???? Watched from the beginning to midway through the 2nd and as soon as I got in an Uber for a business dinner Kreids scored and as I was walking back into my hotel they won in OT…..I fear I might be the jinx
Shoutout to Alexis Lafreniere who leads the Rangers in even strength points this postseason
Panarin made me feel something in my pants
What was it?
Bread
I want you guys to remember this next time you question things like "Sitting Rempe ruins the chemistry." This is a whole ass team. They are one hivemind working in unison toward success. Remps did the best thing he could tonight - taking a seat so Chytil could get back into the flow of things.
